1 HYDROSCAND Reusable fittings Table of contents Product group 200 ferrule Reusable fittings are only suitable for steel braided hoses, type 1SN and 2SN. Ferrules for both skived and non-skived assemblies are available. All fittings in stock have dimensions 1/4" to 1". Reusable fittings are recommended for hydraulic applications with moderate pressure where there is a need for assembling hose lines without equipment. Remember that a good assembly requires accuracy. 2 Reusable fittings Product group 200 Assembly instructions Assembling of reusable fittings on none-skived hoses EN 853 1SN and 2SN. 1. Cut the hose transversely. Remember that all fittings have a cut-off length "B". Secure the fitting ferrule in a vice. Make sure you are using the right ferrule, the one with two rings around the neck. One ring for 1SN-hoses and two rings for 2SN-hoses. 2. Screw the hose on the ferrule until it stops. The fitting ferrule has left-handed threads. 3. Lubricate the hose and the nipple. Place the ferrule in the vice. Insert the nipple so far that the hexagonal meets the ferrule. Assembling of reusable fittings on skived hoses EN 853 1SN and 2SN. 1. Cut the hose transversely. Remember that all fittings have a cut-off length "A". Skive the cover down to the wire braiding. 2. Remove the cover. 3. Repeated skiving is most easily done with our skiving tools. 4. Place the fitting ferrule horizontally in a vice. Screw the hose on the ferrule until it stops. The fitting ferrule has left-handed threads. 5. Lubricate the hose and the nipple. Place the ferrule vertically in the vice. Make sure that the hose does not turn in the ferrule during the assembling. NOTE!
