2 NCB mpos Solution NCB mpos is a mobile payments platform which allows you to process payments securely from almost anywhere at any time. The lightweight card reader easily connects to any Android smartphone or tablet using Bluetooth. mpos allows you to accept all major debit and credit cards including Keycard, Visa, MasterCard, Discover and China Union Pay cards on the go. 2

If it is not in your inbox, check your spam folder. 2 3 An Android smartphone or tablet that: Has an operating system version 6 or higher Has a data plan and connectivity to an active cellular network or Wi-Fi Is Bluetooth wireless technology capable Download and install the NCB mpos app from the Google Play stores onto your smartphone or tablet. 4

5 Step one Charging your Card Reader This unit is delivered in a partially charged state you must fully charge it before using it for the first time. Initial charge time should take 2.5 hours. To charge the unit, connect a USB cable to the unit through the MINI USB port on the side of the mpos unit Always keep your mpos reader s battery level high. At low battery level, the mpos unit will beep to alert you, and display a Low Battery warning, after which the unit will automatically turn off within 10 seconds. The unit must then be charged immediately 5

6 Step two Downloading the mpos App To download the NCB mpos app on an Android device, launch the Google Play Store on your device and enter the search terms NCB mpos. You need to have a Google account to do this. Getting your Smart Phone or Tablet Device ready Please ensure Bluetooth connectivity is enabled in the settings on your mobile device. Location services should also be enabled in order for mpos to work. Please enable location services for both GPS satellite and Wi-Fi & mobile network where applicable. 6

7 Step three Connecting the mpos Card Reader to Your Smart Phone or Tablet Go to the Bluetooth settings on your mobile device (smart phone or Tablet) to pair your mobile device with the mpos card reader. Select the matching serial number for your mpos card reader from the list of available Bluetooth devices and complete the pairing. To ensure that your device is paired correctly. From your App select: Settings, Device (at top of the screen) If the device is paired (the card reader serial # will be visible) go back and perform your transaction If device is not paired (card reader serial# NOT visible) select NOMAD WP2 from list of devices. The device will then pair. 7

8 Step four Accepting Payments To accept a payment, first ensure your card reader is connected via Bluetooth to the phone/tablet, then log in to the mpos app using the Mobile User ID and User PIN. Click on Sale. Select the type of transaction (Credit or Debit). Enter the amount to be charged and confirm the payment amount when prompted. The card reader will display the message Insert/swipe card. Credit Card Processing: If Chip Card, insert the card into the card reader with the chip side first. If the card is a non-chip card, swipe card with magstripe side facing down. Click Continue. Once the credit card is verified, the card reader will display the message Enter PIN for chip cards. Allow the customer to enter their PIN. If the PIN is successfully verified, the card reader will display the message Pin OK. Debit Card processing: If local debit card, insert for chip card or swipe for non-chip card. Once the credit card is verified, the card reader will display the message Enter PIN for chip cards. Allow the customer to enter their PIN. Cardholder will then be prompted to select their account type (1-Chequing or 2- Savings). 8

9 To view a transaction Transactions can be viewed by selecting the Activity icon in the mpos App. All transactions will be listed 9

10 Performing a refund/void Option 1 Select Refund icon in the App Select the search option and enter the search date (start date and end date). Select transaction to be refunded/voided Select refund total amount or for partial refund enter the amount to refund OR Option 2 Select Activity icon in the App Select transaction to be refunded/voided Select refund total amount or for partial refund enter the amount to refund 10

11 Note Transactions are only visible on the App for 30 days. For refunds older than 30 days the refund must be processed from the Merchant Administration portal All refunds are linked to an original transaction. 11
