9 Roaming & International Roaming 24 Hour Travel Pass Zest4 Roaming Fair Usage Policy In line with recent changes around Roam Like at Home legislation, we have introduced a new fair usage policy to ensure end user allowances are being used for purpose whilst roaming. Policy Terms Inclusive roaming services on Zest4 s mobile tariffs have been built for business users who travel periodically, and not for those who roam across foreign networks on a semi-permanent or permanent basis. If a customer uses their mobile in destinations outside the UK that qualify for inclusive access to standard bundles, for more than 50% of the time in any four month rolling period, they can expect a communication requesting a moderation of roaming services. If usage continues to exceed 50% as described in the two week period following notification, Zest4 reserve the right to charge for this usage or business roaming services. If a user consumes more than 100 in ROW data passes or usage in a 24 hour period then as soon as this rating comes through an automatic GRPS bar will be added pending further investigation.. All O2 connections are automatically set up with Roaming 24 hour Travel Pass. It is recommended if users wish to regularly browse the web on their phones when travelling abroad, they should use wifi hotspots instead of their phone s mobile internet connection. 28 Frequently Asked Questions What is Pro Rata Billing? Your mobile subscriptions are paid for in advance and are based on a set monthly bill date (1st of every month). As such, on a connection s first invoice, or first invoice after a change in tariff, there will often be some pro rata billing coming into effect. Example - First Invoice: This is when the additional Line Rental (LR) cost that hadn t been charged in advance, is added to the first full month s LR cost. For example, if your monthly LR for a mobile connection, is 10 pcm, and your subscription connected on the 16th of September; then your first invoice dated the 1st October, will cover all of October s LR, plus catching up on the unpaid 15 days (16 th 30 th Sept inc.) prior to the first invoice. This would make the October 1 st invoice LR total for the subscription = ( ). Example - First Invoice after Tariff/Bolt-on Amendment: This is when the billing system must balance the total cost of Line Rental (LR) after a mid-month change on the next monthly invoice. For example, if the monthly line rental is 10 pcm, and you amend a tariff to 15 pcm on the 16th of September. The system initially recognises that it overcharged you earlier in that month on the 1 st September invoice, for the 10 tariff. This is because you were billed up to, and including the last day of September (1 st 30 th Sept). So, the billing system will automatically credit 5 back to you for the 15 days (16 th 30 th Sept) that you already paid for on the 1 st September invoice. It will then invoice the new cost for the remainder of that month (16 th 30 th Sept) at 7.50 LR, plus the following month ( 15) in advance, as standard on the 1 st October invoice. The bill on the 1 st October invoice the following month after the amendment, will show in the rental summary as a line rental cost of ( ), with a credit for the 5.00 owed for the previous tariff. This means the October month s total line rental cost is ( ). What is Pro Rata Bundle Allowance? Like pro rata billing, pro rata bundle allowance also occurs in the first month after initial connection and/or during the month of any amendment. Example International Minute bolt-on applied: When we quote a price for any bolt-on, that package is based on the bolt-on being applied during the whole billing period of any given month. 29 Frequently Asked Questions First Invoice after tariff/bolt-on amend for full cost: If you apply a 100-minute International bolt-on against a subscription on the 16th of September, because your bill date falls on the 1st of the month, you will only receive half of the international allowance (approx. 50 minutes) for the remainder of that month (16 th 30 th Sept). This pro rating of Line Rental (LR) and allowances applies to all tariff/bolt-on types apart from one exception Exception Data Top Up Bundles The only exception to the above is when you add a Data Top Up bundle. When you apply a Data Top Up bundle to a number, the full Line Rental (LR) is charged for the month. This is irrespective of the date in the month that the bundle is added. The bundle also gives the number the full allowance of data, again irrespective of the date in the month that the bundle is added. Even if the Top Up bundle is added on the last day of the month, the full LR will be charged on the following month s invoice, and the full bundle allowance given. There is no pro-rating. The bundle will apply to data used from the date and time that the bundle is added, to midnight on the last day of the calendar month in which the bundle was added. The billing system will automatically remove the Top Up bundle immediately after the last day of the calendar month. If any Top Up bundle is requested over a weekend/bank holiday, the top up bundle will be backdated on the billing system, to the date that the bundle was requested through the Customer Portal. How does alerting work with Zest4? All Mobile connections with Zest4 are set up with alerting the default alert settings are: 02 Total Spend alerts and bar Resellers - each number is set with a lower alert of 90, an upper alert of 100 and a bar threshold of Dealers - each number is set with a lower alert of 180, an upper alert of 200 and a bar level of Vodafone Total Spend Default Alert is one Upper Bar level set at 200. Data Bundle Default alerts each number is set at 80% and 100% of their data bundle, these alerts will not bar the numbers once it exceeds its data allowance. Zest4 Connect M2M Connections are set up with the requested spend limits, caps, and addresses taken from the M2M order form. There is an optional Ofcom Spend Cap that is available to new and resigning customers only. This is voluntary and needs to be requested separately via The Ofcom Spend Cap Authorisation form. Alerts can be customised in certain ways, though to what extent they can be customised is dependent on the individual network. Alerting on all networks cannot be guaranteed, therefore can only be used as a guideline to usage call processing, delays at the network, a data session starting and ending, system failures, can all contribute to delays and issues with alerts Zest4 endeavours to send all alerts to users, however alerts are never 100% guaranteed and on rare occasions, some alerts may not be sent. The portal includes detailed guides to Alerting, as well as the Ofcom Spend Cap Authorisation form. 30 Day minimum rule for bolt-ons A recurring bolt-on must be in place for a minimum of 30 days. Data top ups added at weekends will be backdated to the date of request. Tariff Changes Please be aware any bolt-on you had in place will be removed when you complete a tariff change. This is because bolt-ons are added-services on top of a core tariff. If the core is changed, then it automatically takes off the added extras, too. Please ensure you check for any required bolt-on as you will need to add them back on again in a separate Add/Remove bolt-on task. It is not possible for Zest4 to assume they need to remain in place. What out of hours support does Zest4 offer? O2 Actions that can be completed direct on the network. Resellers and Dealers with 3rd Party authority have 24/7 access to Self-Service barring/unbarring and SIM swaps for o2 connections. Vodafone Stolen bar Only Confirm number to call Can I request to disconnect a number with immediate effect? All disconnections carry a 30 day notice period so please be aware of this when submitting cancellation requests. The 30 days will begin when the request is submitted and not when the request is responded to. This will allow you to keep track of all your queries better and it is a more secure method of service. 31 Frequently Asked Questions How are Early termination Fees calculated? An Early Termination Fee is calculated based on approximate line rentals due from request date to the contract end date. Dependent on what date a port or disconnection happens, there may be additional rental charges added to your fee and any calls generated up to the de-activation date will also be payable in full. Payment of the estimated early term fee must be paid in full as a payment on your account, plus any outstanding balance on account, before the PAC code will be issued. Once the PAC has been issued and the port completed, we will raise a final invoice for all charges to the end of the contract. The Early Termination and PAC Issue payment made will be reduced from this and the balance on your account will be payable in accordance with our standard terms and conditions.
