We do this by triangulating the location coordinates of mobile devices that are recognized on a local network(s) for telecommunication services. CarrierLink by FourKites Frequently Asked Questions FourKites provides comprehensive real-time tracking and supply chain visibility solutions across transportation modes and digital platforms. By using FourKites, shippers and 3PLs can share the same, real-timeshipping location and status information. What is CarrierLink? CarrierLink is FourKites mobile application designed exclusively for drivers. The app enables real-time load tracking by leveraging the native GPS location technology embedded in smartphones. How much will CarrierLink cost? Our app is available to all drivers at absolutely no cost. What information and systems does CarrierLink require? A driver phone number, active internet / data connection, and enabled Location Services are required for the app to function properly, and for FourKites to accurately track the appropriate loads. CarrierLink is compatible with any phone number in the world and is available for both ios and Android devices. Apple: iphone 4 and above; ios 7.1 and above Android: Hardware varies; O.S (Ice Cream Sandwich) and above How does a driver download and engage with CarrierLink? CarrierLink is available for download in the Apple and Google Play Stores. Drivers who have not downloaded the app, or who have been inactive for extended periods will also be sent an SMS text prompting them to download CarrierLink. In order to register, a driver will need to enter their name, phone number, and unique verification code which is sent via SMS message. Once registered, a driver s loads will be automatically displayed within the app after assignment. How does CarrierLink tracking work? Once permission is granted, the app uses a device s GPS location technology to track the driver s location every 15 minutes, but only when they are assigned an active load and the driver is on-duty. CarrierLink only begins recording an active driver s location four hours prior to the scheduled ickup time, and stops as soon as the driver has exited the designated delivery geofence. What s the purpose of CarrierLink s permission requests? CarrierLink needs a user s permission to access a few simple device functions. This access is required in order to provide accurate location updates, and allows the driver to capture and upload documents if desired, and ensures the app is active and tracking loads properly. How much data and battery does CarrierLink consume? The CarrierLink app is optimally designed to minimize data consumption and battery usage. In tests conducted by FourKites, the CarrierLink app used < 1 MB of data per month, and <10% of battery consumption was observed in a 24-hour period with CarrierLink (ios and Android) enabled and running in the background. 1

You will receive another text message with a verification code. 3 Enter the verification code in CarrierLink. Your load will automatically start tracking a few hours before pickup, with no buttons to press or calls to answer while you re on a haul. It s that easy. 2

Caution: when you are off-duty, none of your loads will track or be marked as delivered. Search lets you find any load by typing the full BOL number. On-Duty allows your active loads to track. Off-Duty will prevent tracking. Send Location (optional) In addition to CarrierLink s automatic tracking updates, you may record your location anytime. 4
