1 LINCOLN CITY LIBRARIES December 2015 User s Guide for BookMyne App ios Use BookMyne, Lincoln City Libraries s new mobile app to search the library catalog, place holds, and manage your account on your smartphone or tablet. My Account functions include: a list of items currently checked out, current charges the ability to renew items the ability to view pending and available holds BookMyne is available for ios (iphone, ipad, ipod Touch) and Android devices. Get Started 1. Download the BookMyne app from the App Store. (If using an ipad, the BookMyne app may not appear in the App Store. You may find it by searching for it in your browser, e.g. Safari, then clicking on the link to download it.) 2. Open the app on your device. Add Your Library 3. Tap the Find Library button at the top of the first screen. a. Choose Nearby Search to use your device s location services to find the nearest library b. Or choose Name Search to type in your library s name. 4. Tap the + symbol on the right side next to the name of your branch to make that library a favorite ( + symbol turns to a yellow star). 5. You can add several branches to Favorites, and the drop down menu at the top of the home screen allows you to select one branch as your home branch or to search that branch. You will need to re-enter your account information for each library branch that you add. If you would like to see material that is on order, add Bennett Martin to your list of libraries.

2 6. Use the menu button at the top for library information, to change app settings, or to log out. Add Your Account 7. Tap on My Account. 8. Enter your library card number and your PIN. You can also give this account a nickname. 9. Tap Log In. 10. Tap on the right arrow at the end of each row to view more information. 11. Personal Info: Displays address and contact information on file with library. Please contact the library to make changes. 12. Checkouts: This displays all of the titles, not including digital items currently checked out. If an item is eligible for renewals, then you will be able to renew the selected material from this view. After clicking on the title, tap the menu button in the top right corner and select renew.

3 13. Holds: This displays all pending and available holds. Holds may be removed by selecting one or more holds, then tapping the menu button in the top right corner, and choosing Cancel Checked Holds. 14. Fines: Displays any associated bills/accruing fines. 15. Change PIN: This function allows you to change your PIN. 16. On the main screen, account activity is indicated by a number representing the number of alerts. For example, a red number above the arrow on the right-hand side of the My Account line indicates that how many items are due soon or overdue. Search 17. The Search option enables you to search your home branch s materials. If you would like to search for material that is on order, please select Bennett Martin as the branch to search. Use the drop down menu to the right of the search field to select the criteria to search by. Enter your search term and click on Search located on the bottom right of the pop up keyboard or tap the magnifying glass icon. Note: The barcode option is not available at this time.

4 18. Most recently published items will be appear first on the results list. Tapping on an item will show availability and summary information. Once one or more items have been selected from the results list, the menu button in the top corner will become active, allowing you the option to place a hold, the title, or save it to a list. 19. To place a hold, tap the menu button and select Place Hold. Your default pick up location will be shown in the middle of the screen, but you may select a different location by tapping the blue Pickup button. Then tap Place Hold at the bottom of the screen. A green dot next to the item will indicate the hold was placed successfully. 20. Return to the search screen by tapping the Back button in the top left corner or return to the main screen by tapping the Home button in the top right corner. My Bookshelf 21. From My Bookshelf you can manage your lists. You will also find the BookMyne User Help Guide under Downloaded Books.

5 22. Use the button in middle of the top to toggle between the Downloaded Books and your Lists. Downloadable materials will be available in the future. 23. You can also manage your Lists from this screen. You can create a new list by tapping the New button. Select the name of the list you wish to edit and then tap the Edit button to rename or delete that list. 24. Once you have selected a list and tapped the Done button, the bookshelves will show the covers of the titles in that list. Use the Edit button at the bottom of the screen to select titles in the list, then use the Menu button in the top right corner to place holds, the titles, or delete those items from the list. (There seems to be a glitch here that may cause this feature to not work properly. Try going back to the Bookshelf, then reopening the Edit screen.) Suggested Reading 25. You can use BookMyne to look for book recommendations. You can look through three types of recommended titles: award-winners, popular, and social. The social section includes books from your Goodreads friends read shelves. Note: To view the social section of recommended reading, you must have a Goodreads account.
