4 Ericsson IBC focus areas Acquire Live content is the cornerstone of TV and the emerging TV Anywhere experience. 17 years ago, Ericsson transformed events coverage with the introduction of the first Satellite News Gathering (SNG) compression platform and since then, has covered a myriad of events, including the most watched TV events of all time. We will be demonstrating real-time true 4K UHDTV video contribution at p50, 4:2:2, 10-bit resolution. It provides an end-to-end reference ecosystem, including proven interfaces to third party systems and the vital system integration credentials for fully monetized multiscreen TV linear and live services. At IBC, Ericsson will showcase its new Ericsson AVP 4000 System Encoder, the most advanced video processing platform for TV delivery and core to its multi-platform solution. The AVP 4000 is powered by Ericsson s first-ever professional video chip, enabling break-throughs in performance, efficiency and agility in deployment and adaptation. The AVP 4000 enables all broadcasters, TV service providers and operators to drive business success and profit growth through greater velocity and efficiency in deploying new video services that meet consumer demand. Ericsson will demonstrate service differentiation through the delivery of highest quality over constrained pipes, whether in MPEG-4 AVC HD and SD CBR or MPEG-4 HD and MPEG-2 SD Reflex. Deliver Ericsson is revolutionizing video delivery through two new award winning solutions: LTE Broadcast, which combines three new standards (embms, HEVC (H.265) and MPEG DASH), and Media Delivery Network, a unified approach to the delivery of managed and unmanaged content via fixed and mobile networks. At IBC, Ericsson will demonstrate its LTE Broadcast solution for telco operators, which compliments the unicast delivery of premium content over LTE (4G) mobile broadband networks with dynamic capability to switch to broadcast/multicast of content for far greater efficiency.
