2 IC3 Training & Testing Event Jan 24th in Phoenix Join us for a morning of training and testing on IC3 Digital Literacy Certification at the National Coalition of Certification Centers (NC3) Train-the-Trainer event, January 24th, in Phoenix, Arizona. The course is free, and participants will take a Living Online exam at the conclusion of the session, and receive free vouchers to take the remaining two modules, Computing Fundamentals and Key Applications, at local testing centers. Learn more about the event and register today. -Teresa Harry, Field Marketing Manager Compass will be available through Console in January 2019 During the week of January 21st, 2019, Compass will be automatically downloaded and installed through Console 8. Console 8 can continue to be used, but you will also have an option to use Compass the new web-based delivery system. Today Compass includes: Autodesk, Adobe (Live-in-the-app), EC-Council & App Development with Swift Certification exams with more exams moving to this platform soon. 3 Updates to Simulation Exams Next week we will release an optional update to the localized versions of the IC3 Digital Literacy and QuickBooks Certified User exam tutorials that adds text about revisiting simulation questions. You can find more information in the Simulations section of the FAQ here. In conjunction with this release, we will also publish updates to the English IC3 and QuickBooks exams that add a prompt when a candidate revisits a simulation question during an exam. We will release similar updates to the localized versions of the IC3 exams as well as other exams with simulations over the coming months. -Tanner Morris Product Manager, IC3 New App Development with Swift Level 1 certification from Apple Available The new App Development with Swift Level 1 certification is available! The certification is based on the App Development with Swift course and recognizes an individual s knowledge of the Swift programming language, app developer tools, and core components of apps. With the learning resources and curriculum provided by Apple, you can add this certification to your computer science and coding courses to help your students build professional-level app development skills. 5 Congratulations, MOS Master: April Moore-Jones Being a teacher means going above and beyond to help your students succeed. Sometimes, that means giving yourself additional skills to gain a deeper understanding of the content you teach. April Moore-Jones did just that, by earning her MOS Master certification. April is a teacher at Northwood High School, located in Saltville, VA. She s been at her school for thirteen years, with the last nine of those years teaching business classes. Her schedule includes teaching Accounting, Principles of Business and Marketing, Office Administration, Design Multimedia & Webtech, Economics and Personal Finance, and Computer Information Systems. And as if that weren t enough, April is also the yearbook adviser, FBLA adviser (with over one-third of the school being members), and adviser for the school studentmanaged website, When asked how her MOS Master certification has helped her, April commented, I have benefited from earning a MOS Master certification by telling and showing my kids the importance of certification. We look at Indeed.com to view jobs in our area that require MOS for the job position, showing the importance of certification. I, myself, will be teaching a MOS adjunct class for Virginia Highlands Community College in the spring to Northwood and a neighboring school, Chilhowie. Without my certifications in MOS, I would not have been eligible to expand my teaching horizons! The LITA exam is delivered on the new Certiport web-based exam delivery system called Compass. Until now, you could only purchase a voucher to take an ACP exam. With these new site licenses, the cost is more affordable for a classroom.
