4 Introduction What is the PMP? The Project Management Professional (PMP ) is one of the credentials offered by the Project Management Institute (PMI ) of USA. With more than half a million members and credential holders in over 170 countries, PMI is the leading membership association for the project management professional. The PMP credential demonstrates an individual s expertise in project management, leadership and communication skills crucial to the planning and execution of a project. Eligibility criteria Candidates applying for the PMP credential must meet either of the following requirements: A High school diploma, associate s B Bachelor s degree or global degree or global equivalent equivalent Minimum 5 years/60 months unique non-overlapping professional project management experience, during which at least 7,500 hours were spent leading and directing project tasks 35 contact hours of formal education Minimum 3 years/36 months unique non-overlapping professional project management experience, during which at least 4,500 hours were spent leading and directing project tasks 35 contact hours of formal education *All project management experience must have been accrued within the last eight consecutive years prior to submission of the application. 4 PMP exam preparatory course All Rights Reserved EY

5 Membership and examination Application and procedure To become a PMI member, an online application must be submitted at A membership fee of US$139 is payable directly to PMI. For more information, please visit Examination details The standard form for all PMI examinations is computer based testing (CBT) and delivered by PMI s testing partner, Prometric An examination fee of US$ 405 is payable directly to PMI The PMP examination comprises of 200 multiple-choice questions, 25 of which are unscored and 175 scored questions. The allotted examination time is 4 hours The examination eligibility period is one year from the date of application approval Candidates can give the PMP examination up to three times during the eligibility period. If they fail all the attempts, they must wait one year from the last date of examination in order to re-apply for the credential PMP exam preparatory course 5

Cancellation and refund policy A full refund less an administration fee of KWD50 will be given for cancellation requests received up to 5 working days before the event. Delegates who cancel less than 5 working days before the event, or who don t attend, are liable to pay the full course fee, and no refunds can be given. However, if you wish to attend a subsequent scheduling of the course, and you have paid your course fee in full, you will only be invoiced for 25% of that course fee.
