2 Society of Maintenance & Reliability Professionals (SMRP) Body of Knowledge by GSMP Introduction: This is a two day workshop designed to discuss and elaborate onthe Society of Maintenance & Reliability Professional (SMRP) Pillars of the Body of Knowledge to help the candidates come to terms with these Pillars. There are five pillars in the maintenance and reliability Body of Knowledge for professionals: Business and Management, Manufacturing Process Reliability, Equipment Reliability, Organization and Leadership, and Work Management. The critical knowledge, skills and abilities under each of these pillars will be discussed in details. Practice questions will be also reviewed and discussed in a group discussion to help participants get a sense of what the exam is like. In addition, recommended readings will be covered in the workshop. Objectives & Benefits: Familiarize the candidates with SMRP (Society of Maintenance and Reliability Professionals) Body of Knowledge Pillars. Discuss a methodology of study approach, and how to get prepared for CMRP exam. Candidates have an opportunity to share thoughts on CMRP approach with Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professionals, and gain from their experiences. Who should attend? Maintenance Managers, Maintenancee Section Heads, Maintenance Reliability Engineers, Maintenance Consultants, and qualified experienced maintenance individuals, who are interested in becoming familiar with SMRP Body of Knowledge.

3 COURSE OUTLINE Day 1: Introduction & Scope Description Introduction of the candidates to the Instructor(s) and each other.overview of the 2 days and content, objectives of the course. First set of questions (5) to be made by the candidates and self-graded. The CMRP exam Presentation on the CMRP exam. How the exam is structured, timing, language, type of questions Pillar 1: Business and Management Going through the 1st pillar of the BoK and discuss the requirements for a successful pass of the exam of each of them.discuss the topic in more detail with reference to Gulati s book. Candidates make 5 sample questions on this topic. Pillar 2: Manufacturing Process Reliability Going through the 2nd pillar of the BoK and discuss the requirements for a successful pass of the exam of each of them.discuss the topic in more detail with reference to Gulati s book. Candidates make 5 sample questions on this topic. Pillar 4: People Skills Going through the 4th pillar of the BoK and discuss the requirements for a successful pass of the exam of each of them.discuss the topic in more detail with reference to Gulati s book. Candidates make 5 sample questions on this topic. The Maintenance Puzzle Candidates have to complete a crossword puzzle with maintenance phrases and terminology. Day 2: Pillar 3: Equipment Reliability Going through the 3rd pillar of the BoK and discuss the requirements for a successful pass of the exam of each of them. Discuss the topic in more detail with reference to Gulati s book. Candidates make 5 sample questions on this topic. Pillar 5: Work Management Going through the 5th pillar of the BoK and discuss the requirements for a successful pass of the exam of each of them. Discuss the topic in more detail with reference to Gulati s book. Candidates make 5 sample questions on this topic. Exam test Candidates make 45 questions in 60 minutes (comparable with 110 in 2,5 hrs) Exam evaluation, next steps and wrap up Candidates self-grade their exam. The exam is discussed. Concise overview of what has been discussed past 2 days. Discuss the next steps in study in preparation to the exam on basis of the candidates scoring on the practice exam questions

Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) Management Professional with extensive experience in the Aluminium industry, covering a wide range of activities and responsibilities in Production, Maintenance, Engineering, Warehouse, Planning, Procurement, Recruitment, Training & Development, and, Executive Management. Managing Partner of Ibtikar Group company in Bahrain, with one of its activities being to provide Industrial Consultancy Services. Works with SAMI of USA as a senior consultant, involved with the implementation of a new Work Management Process at major Petrochemical Plants in the GCC. Written and presented a number of technical papers for a number of conferences around the world. GSMP, Education Committee Member Saudi Aramco Workers Committee Member Graduated with a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of New Orleans, Louisiana, USA, in Winner of the Hariri Arab Award for distinguished Maintenance Engineer of year 2007, whichh is a competition on the level of all Arab nations. Vast Operations, Maintenance and Engineering experience developed throughout the past 14 years with Saudi Aramco. Experienced with hydrocarbon pipelines operations and maintenance in addition to gas turbines maintenance.also, experienced in refined products transportation, storage and distribution throughout the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.Participated in many maintenance related conference as a presenter and sessions chairman. Assessment: All assessments will be conducted during the course. Assessment tasks consist of e.g: quizzes, practical discussions, case studies, role plays, on-site exercises, hands-on. Certificates: Certificates will be awarded to the learners who the attendance report. Course Language: English Progress Reports: Fahad Al Otaibi CMRP, AVS, CPF completed and pass in the assessments and who completed at least 75% of Progress and attendance reports will be sent to the learner s employer indicating the progress made towards the training objective.
