4 The Qualification Successful completion of the CMAP is worth 15 HE credits. It is set at Level 4, or first year degree level. And although structured differently to NVQ, the award difficulty level is similar to NVQ4. The qualification is specifically designed to reflect the standards expected of caseworkers. Content The syllabus covers 4 main areas of study: First Line Money and Debt Legal Advice and Casework Managing Legal Advice Cases and a Personal Caseload The Courts and Preparing for Client Representation Social Policy The Qualification The Tasks All learning is through Staffordshire University's Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) so candidates can study online at any time. There are 4 study sections each with teaching materials and a formative assessment. These assessments aid the learning process but do not count toward the final assessment. 4

5 The Qualification Examination The exam will take place during the last weekend of the course and will last 2hrs 20 mins. The date of the exam is notified at the start. The final assessment is an online exam. A mark of 70% is required for a pass. Results: posted approx. 4 weeks later. The Qualification Lets take a look... 6 Feedback: Overall a positive and enjoyable experience. I found the content useful. I think the fact that I now have the qualification in Money Advice will be extremely useful for me and my organisation It was good to be able to do the qualification online; it meant that I could fit it in around my work and home commitments. I am a frontline Money Adviser and I found the content 100% relevant to me. My learning was reinforced by Milestone Tasks at the end of each section. I enjoyed it! The qualification was something which I have wanted to do for a long time. I really, really enjoyed it and found it very useful. I was able to use the content to refresh my knowledge. The module also provided me with an opportunity to evaluate the systems I use. I found the support provided brilliant and was really appreciated. That working on the qualification was a really good opportunity to reflect upon my own procedures and ensure that I am working to the best possible standard.
