2 Background of the project

3 AEMAS Y2004/2005 European commission and ASEAN Facility funded the design and feasibility study for the establishment of ASEAN Manager Accreditation Scheme (AEMAS) The project was completed in May 2005 and the outcomes was approved during the ASEAN Meeting of Ministers (AMEM) in Phnom Penh in June 2005

4 Outcomes of AEMAS The project outcomes were 1. Recommended Code of Practice for Manager 2. Recommended Accreditation Procedures for Managers (CEM-PEM-EEM) 3. Recommended Certification Procedures for Organization (Entry-Showcase Level) 4. Recommended Training Course Outline 5. Recommended Outline of the Management Simulation Test (EMST) 6. Implementation Strategy towards the Establishment of an ASEAN Manager Accreditation Scheme 7. 5-Years Budgetary Estimate for the operation of AEMAS

6 Compulsory Training Requirements Any candidate who qualifies for accreditation must attend and complete minimum training requirements as defined below: Training on the Recommended Code of Practice for Managers Training on Sustainable Management Test at the end of the training - Professional Assessment (Theoretical + Practical Test-EMST)

7 Consulting Initiative - (former EEC Energetics) has taken the initiative to apply for the grant from EAEF round 4, to develop the theoretical training curriculum under the project namely; Development of the Theoretical Training Curricula for Managers and Training Providers in ASEAN - EMTC. - Multimedia Asia applied to develop the practical simulation test under the project namely; Development of the Management Simulation Test for the Practical Training of Managers in ASEAN EMST.

20 Projects Outcomes EMTC 15 Regional Trainers have been trained. (from Thailand, Malaysia, The Philippines, Vietnam, Indonesia, Cambodia and Laos) 25 Potential ASEAN Manager from ASEAN have been trained.

22 Projects Outcomes EMST Management Simulation Test (EMST) package has been successfully developed including the simulation test software, trainer guidebook and user manual The training course to train 15 regional trainers was co-organized with EMTC project. The training course for the first group of potential energy managers (25 persons) was co-organized with EMTC project.

28 Part I : Theoretical test (3 hours) Based on understanding and follows an adult learning approach Test papers : Multiple choices and qualitative questions Candidates will get the test questions (120 questions) on the first day of the training for preparation. Candidate will be required to complete and pass only 30 questions (random selected and distribution)

31 Part II : Practical test The practical test requires candidates to work through the Management Simulation Test (EMST): EMST designed to simulate energy management in a virtual organization Candidates act as Manager in the virtual organization Candidates will have to apply their knowledge and understanding of sustainable energy management and work through EMST to achieve certain points, as required by the test

32 Structure of EMST EMST test consists of 9 modules. Maximum allowed time is 3 hours. Test modules are grouped into 4 groups. Modules in the same group are interconnected. There are multiple scenarios for the test versions.
