Food and waterborne diseases are the leading causes of illness and death, with a mortality rate of some 2.2 million each year, mostly children. 民以食为天, 食以安为先 --- to the people, food is all-important; to the food, safety is top priority..

10 Accreditation Food Safety Law of PRC Article 57 - Food inspection and/or testing agencies shall perform food inspection and/or testing only after they have been accredited in accordance with relevant State Requirements on certification and accreditation, except it is otherwise provided for by law. (Translated only for reference) Note: Specify that a testing agency can only perform food testing activities before it is accredited. Otherwise, it cannot issue to the public any data or test result.

14 Accreditation China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment (CNAS) is the national accreditation body of China unitarily responsible for the accreditation of certification bodies, laboratories and inspection bodies, which is established under the approval of the CNCA and authorized by CNCA in accordance with the Regulations of the People s Republic of China on Certification and Accreditation.
