1 DCS-IP-gateway General information Introduction: The DCS-IP-gateway makes it possible to integrate the door communication system in an IP network. Commonly available PCs and PC-based operating devices such as the Gira Control 9 Client or the Gira Control 19 Client can be used as virtual home stations with the DCS Communicator software via the network connection. The video picture is displayed on the PC screen, and intercom communication uses the sound card (microphone and loudspeaker). In this way, the PC becomes a communication hub. Therefore the DCS-IP-gateway is installed between the sending cameras and the receiving home stations. For this reason all cameras are connected to the Bus IN terminal and all other bus devices (e.g. home stations, switching actuators) are connected to the Bus OUT terminals page 4 of 13

9 The calls from door and home stations can be connected to commonly available PCs and SIP telephones in the IP network via the DCS-IP-gateway. Several external IP cameras can also be integrated via the DCS-IP-gateway. page 9 of

10 The DCS Communicator can be installed on any number of end devices. However, the number of end devices which can log on at the same time depends on the quantity of licences purchased. For example, if the licence model was purchased with 5 licences, 5 end devices can log on at the same time accordingly. 12 The Gira DCS-IP-gateway can be connected to the Gira HomeServer 3 or FacilityServer via a plug-in. Thus the Gira door communication system is integrated into the user interface of the Gira Interface and can be operated in various ways: with the Gira Control 9 Client or the Gira Control 19 Client and of course also with a PC.
