2 Cisco Unified Wireless Network As users become increasingly mobile and business applications become more interactive, innovative wireless services and applications are critical to helping organizations maintain agility and differentiation. Johnson Controls has formed an alliance with Cisco Systems to address the need for enterprise-class wireless connectivity with the Cisco Unified Wireless Network. This unified wired and wireless solution delivers industry-leading wireless Local Area Network (LAN) security, innovation, and investment protection. The Cisco Unified Wireless Network supports real-time business-critical applications and creates a secure, mobile, interactive workplace for organizations deploying Wireless LANs. The Cisco Unified Wireless Network is an integrated end-to-end solution that addresses all layers of the Wireless LAN (WLAN), from client devices and access points to the network infrastructure, to network management, to the delivery of advanced wireless services integration and support. The Cisco Unified Wireless Network comprises five interconnected elements that work together to deliver a unified enterprise-class wireless solution. The five interconnected elements are client devices, a mobility platform, network unification, world-class network management, and mobility services. Taken together, this integrated solution combines the best elements of wireless and wired networking to deliver scalable, manageable, and secure WLANs with a low total cost of ownership. 3 Features of the Cisco Unified Wireless Network The following are notable features of the Cisco Unified Wireless Network: integrated, unified networks feature end-to-end wired and wireless network integration that minimize total cost of ownership by reducing operational and capital costs associated with managing and deploying the wireless network advanced WLAN security and network protection features an integrated WLAN Intrusion Prevention System (IPS) that protects the network from security breaches and unsecured WLAN connections that put the entire network at risk. 4 InnerWireless Distributed Antenna System The InnerWireless Distributed Antenna System (DAS) is an innovative, broadband, in-building antenna system that redefines capability and performance of in-building wireless systems. The basic InnerWireless DAS is an elegantly simple infrastructure that can cover up to 500,000 square feet (46,452 square meters) using no active electronic components; however, the InnerWireless DAS scalable architecture can accomodate much larger buildings and campus configurations. There are no life-limiting active electronic elements or mechanical parts. The patented components of the system enable a broadband frequency range of 400 MHz to 2.5 GHz and the ability to support any wireless protocol and technology. The InnerWireless Distributed Antenna System employs patented technology to cost effectively deliver multiple broadband applications and integrations, including data and voice, on a single in-building wireless system that is reliable, efficient, and versatile. 6 MobileAccess MA-2000 Distributed Antenna System The MobileAccess MA-2000 Distributed Antenna System (DAS) provides state-of-the-art active component technology to improve indoor coverage of a wide range of wireless services over a single broadband infrastructure. The system can be engineered to support multiple wireless services including cellular/personal Communications Services (PCS) phones, paging, and emergency radio. The system also supports wireless Ethernet in a single building, campus, or enterprise environment. Units are approved for in-building wireless phone distribution by AT&T, Verizon, Cingular, and Sprint/NETXEL. The MA-2000 system provides pay-as-you-grow functionality via multiple products and modular distribution components. The MA-2000 Lite system handles up to eight wireless services, whereas the MA-2000 Modular Remote Cabinet (MRC) supports up to 20 wireless services. Figure 3: MA-2000 Distributed Antenna System Remote Distribution Units Features of the MobileAccess MA-2000 Distributed Antenna System The following are notable features of the MobileAccess MA-2000 Distributed Antenna System: integrated antenna system prevents RF interferences such as those induced where multiple antenna systems are used to serve multiple services, using a single coaxial antenna infrastructure multi-service platform accommodates virtually any mix of wireless voice and data services, emergency radio, and Wireless Fidelity (WiFi), eliminating the need for multiple antenna systems approved by all major wireless telecommunications carriers. Units are approved for in-building wireless phone distribution by AT&T, Verizon, Cingular, and Sprint/NEXTEL. system monitoring provides local or remote real-time monitoring, diagnostics, and control of the wireless indoor network scalable system size provides flexibility in wireless service levels. 7 SpotCell 2500Xe Series Wireless Cellular Coverage Enhancement System Johnson Controls has formed an alliance with Spotwave Wireless to offer the SpotCell 2500Xe Wireless Cellular Coverage Enhancement System, which improves indoor wireless cellular connectivity in spaces ranging up to 80,000 square feet (7,432 square meters). Multiple systems can be combined to improve wireless cellular coverage in even larger spaces within a building. This cellular carrier-approved system enhances coverage for both cellular (800 MHz) and PCS (1900 MHz) bands. The solution is transparent to the cellular network and protects signal integrity under dynamic conditions. The system supports both voice and data communications, including high-speed/third generation (3G) data. The SpotCell 2500Xe is a cost-effective, complete and scalable solution that is easy to deploy and requires no maintenance or adjustments. It uses patented, advanced adaptive techniques and smart antenna technology to create an intelligent indoor wireless coverage system that automatically adapts in real time to changes in RF environments. A single system is made up of a donor unit and up to two coverage units. Figure 4: SpotCell 2500Xe Series Coverage Units and Donor Unit Features of the SpotCell 2500Xe Series Wireless Cellular Coverage Enhancement System The following are notable features of the SpotCell 2500Xe Series Wireless Cellular Coverage Enhancement System: Localized cost-effective wireless cellular coverage enhancement, only where you need it, improves cellular coverage including clear, reliable, and consistent voice-call quality and high-speed data rates. It also increases productivity, efficiency, and mobility for building occupants. Cellular carrier-approved technology improves coverage while ensuring that the SpotCell System does not interfere with a carrier s network. The technology is certified and approved by cellular and PCS carriers across North America. Automatic adaptive techniques and smart antenna technology adapts to changes in the wireless environment, protects signal integrity, maintains stability, and provides consistent coverage automatically. Intelligent antennas, integral AutoTrac Light-Emitting Diodes (LEDs) and status indicators facilitate simplified installation through self-guiding alignment of donor unit with respect to the cellular base station and visual system status indication. 8 Maintenance-free, rapid out-of-the-box solution facilitates fast and easy deployment without elaborate engineering design or specialized instruments. Once installed, no ongoing maintenance is required. Field upgradable for potential cellular network configuration changes, which enables flexible, simple, and effective field reconfiguration for carrier network or spectrum changes with the Personality Module product.
