NEC SV8300 SIP Integration REQUIREMENTS: All software releases for the SV8300 are supported Message Center Interface (MCI) serial port. A standard SIP station each voic port (NEC also refers to this as a IP single line station) An analog station (or dedicated CO line) for the system s modem. PBX PROGRAMMING: (SIP station and MCI link programming examples) Open the NEC SV8300 PCPro Maintenance Interface Program. Open the Command prompt by choosing the icon outlined in the red square: In the below examples, the > character is generated by pressing the F8 [DE] key (there are a row of F keys at the bottom of the SV8300 PCPro window, not shown in the above screen shot) Standard SIP Licenses are required for stations to work, verify licenses are loaded by the following command: 1
F88>024>STD SIP Phone :xxxx/zzzz where xxxx is current licenses being used and zzzz is current licenses available for use. The following example is basic programming to setup stations as Standard SIP VM Stations. Assign Standard SIP Converter (Each SIP Converter handles 3 simultaneous Standard SIP Station Calls) (System RESET required after assignment): o 1001> >EC000-EC002 ( xxxx=ip Port Number zzz=sip Convertor Number) Assign Standard SIP Station Number o 1004> > (xxxx=virtual Port Number zzzz=standard SIP Station Number) Set the SIP station to PHS o 1D14> >0 Set the terminal type to IP single line SIP o 1D15> >05 Set the SIP station to an unused Service Restriction Class of 10 o 1202> >10 Set the SIP station as a VM station o 1310> >0 Set the SIP station for Momentary Open o 1322> >0 Specify Calling Name Display-IP Single Line is allowed o 15123>10>0 Assign password to the SIP stations o 2B00> >1234 The following example is basic programming to setup the VM stations as a UCD group. Assign stations to UCD Hunting order o 170>6000>6001 o 170>6001>6002 o 170>6002>6003 o 170>6003>6004 o 170>6004>6005 o 170>6005>6006 o 170>6006>6000 Assign Pilot Station of UCD Group o 171>6000>1 Assign UCD group number 00 to stations o 172> >00 The following example is basic programming to setup the MCI interface at 9600 N,8,1. Assign the type of VM system as MCI 08>443>0 Allow Message Waiting control from VM system with MCI 08>444>0 2
Provide Message Waiting Lamp to appropriate stations 1303>Station Number>0 Provide the system with MCI 0401>01>0 Assign the number of digits for station number in the MCI message 08>708>0=6 digits 1=8 digits Assign MCI function to port 1 of unit 1 RS-232C port 4000>0>10 Assign attributes to the MCI port 1 on unit 1 (9600 N,8,1) 4008>0>4 4002>0>1 4001>0>1 4004>0>0 DEVICE INTERFACE CONNECTIONS: Click the Do button and click Configure System. Find Device Interfaces on the left and highlight. On the right, double-click NECPBX. The Serial Ports tab shows the port and baud rate settings (default is COM E71). Change the baud rate settings if needed to match the MCI serial port programming. Next, click the Other Settings tab. In the Parameters field, specify the lead station number of the hunt group you created for the voic ports. In the field, type NecUcd= then lead station number directly after the equals sign. The example shown below shows 6000 as the lead station number: If the voic stations are non-concurrent, list them all after the equal sign, separate each with a comma: NecUcd=6000,6010,6012,6015 (and so on) You may need to specify one of 4 packet formats. The system automatically uses Format 1 if none is specified in the Parameter field. Click the Notes tab to view the description of each format: 3
Next, make a few test calls to the lead voic station, so that the MCI interface generates some messages. Ensure that the data looks legible. Received data from the NEC is displayed in red, and messages transmitted by the NECPBX driver are displayed in green 4
TESTING: Testing disconnect supervision When a caller is connected to voic and hangs up, the NEC PBX will provide a momentary open to release the call from voic .. Test this by placing a call from any station to the voic system. After voic answers, hang up. The system s Monitor portion of the screen will show the message loop current drop detected, and the line will return to the waiting for call state. Call each of the remaining voic extensions, (hanging up after each port answers) and watch to see if the message loop current drop detected is displayed. This test should be performed station to station and trunk to station. For a trunk to station test, call the hotel s main number, and have the attendant transfer you to voic . When voic answers, hang-up and watch for the loop current drop detected message to be displayed. If disconnect supervision does not work, check your PBX programming to ensure that the correct card is being used for the analog voic stations Testing direct call integration (From any station) At the system, right click port 501 (found under Event Activity, lower left corner) and click Trace Messages. A checkmark will appear to its left. Now place a call from a station to the lead voic station. The information below will show what station number is calling. The resulting DAPI message (JCALL 2 D ) from the NEC MCI port shows that the call rang into the voic systems second line and that 2001 called The result is a << DIRECT CALL FROM 2001 >> Testing call forward integration Call forward a staff station on a busy/no answer to the lead number of the voic hunt group. From another station, call the station you just forwarded, allowing it to forward to voic . The information will show both the calling and called party. 5
The resulting DAPI message (JCALL 1 N ) from the NEC MCI port shows that the call rang into the voic systems first line and that 2002 called The result is a << FORWARDED CALL FROM 2001 DIALED BY 2002 >> Perform this forwarding test via a trunk as well. Testing message lamps Message lamps are turned on and off by the MCI link. An A2 message turns the light on, and an A6 turns the light off. Test a message lamp by going to System > Tenants > Tenant 1 > Mailboxes. Double click the Set MWI(s) icon. Enter a valid extension number and test turning the message lamp on and off. The following information will be displayed on the Monitor portion of the system s main screen (example below is of turning a message lamp on for station 2001) END OF DOCUMENT 6
