Firmware compatibility The recommended minimum firmware version is The table below gives more detail. Function Read status Upgrade firmware Edit existing project and download to RTU Create new project and download to RTU Use features described in user manual or online help Use features flagged with (requires recent firmware) in user manual/online help or release notes Minimum firmware Any Any (In some cases a two stage upgrade is required; see firmware release notes) If using an earlier firmware version then check firmware release notes to determine whether the feature is supported in a particular firmware version. Check firmware release notes to determine whether the feature is supported in a particular firmware version. Upgrade Procedure We recommend you make and keep a copy of existing projects before opening them with a new version of Toolbox PLUS. Toolbox PLUS will install alongside a prior release. It requires.net Framework 4.5. If that is not installed, you will be reminded by the installer. If ISaGRAF version is not already installed, use your Toolbox PLUS CD or USB flash drive to install it. Adding new ISaGRAF Function blocks to older projects A new version of Toolbox PLUS may make available new ISaGRAF function blocks. These function blocks will be automatically available for new projects. If you wish to make these available to an existing project, you can manually update the ISaGRAF databases of the project using our guide. Details The following sections summarise the changes made in this and previous service updates and production releases. Page 1 of 15
New functionality describes new functions or capabilities that have been added. These will normally have no effect on existing functionality, unless specifically noted. Changes refer to changes that have been made to existing functionality. Any potential incompatibilities (for example, changes that may be required to project files) will be highlighted in the individual entries. are corrections or improvements that have been made because the previous behaviour was incorrect or sub-optimal. 3 Version (Build 7934, January 18, 2017) New functionality Check the firmware release notes to confirm support in specific firmware versions for these new functions. Refer to Toolbox PLUS Help for further details on each new function. Modbus Master Only Port Assignment A new checkbox has been added to Modbus RTU and ASCII ports to allow the ports to be Modbus Master Only ports. That is the ports will not respond to any Modbus Requests when this checkbox is enabled (#2428). Configurable DNP3 TCP/UDP port number DNP3 protocol now has the ability to set the incoming and outgoing TCP/UDP port number via the protocol properties dialog. This feature requires CP-30 firmware 4408 or greater (#3179). WEB Interface HTTP protocol has now been added to allow configuration of the WEB server function in the RTU. The protocol may be enabled for any Ethernet port on the CP-30 (#3166, #3230). Build and Export A new Menu Item /Tools/Build and Export has been added to allow users to define the storage location of Configuration and Logic Files. This allows them to be more accessible when downloading to the RTU via 3rd party protocols such as DNP3 (#3131). Changes Company name change to Servelec Technologies from Semaphore Australia (#2911) Analog values greater than were not displayed correctly in the module status displays. This has been corrected (#109). Numeric keypad entry of dictionary variables has been corrected (#669). DNP Poll Timer description has been updated in Toolbox PLUS help, to indicate DNP point transitions may be missed if the Poll Timer is set too long (#1133). The author property of the User Manual has been corrected (1138). DNP Binary Outputs Controls tab description has been added to the Toolbox PLUS Help documentation (#1195). ADDR parameter in KF_SET_ROUTE should be set to an empty string or for routes using serial ports. Toolbox PLUS Help has been updated to describe this requirement (#1333). Temperature scaling in module status for PS-x2 v1.4+ has been changed to display the range - 60C to +140C (#1422). Module status for unconfigured modules will now display values with default scaling applied (#1789). References to DO4 on the PS-xx modules have been removed from the Manual as it cannot be accessed by the RTU (#1834). Page 3 of 15
Feedback during firmware download with the connection IP address manually set in Toolbox PLUS was not working correctly. This has been corrected (#2129). Deleting items from the Role context menu was not working correctly. This has been corrected (#2273). After an import from excel the FF (Flipflop) function block showed no data type in ISaGRAF. This has been corrected (#2334). Un-mapping a variable from an IO point and re-mapping the variable to a different IO point, would still show the variable mapped to the old point in the dictionary. This has been corrected (#2596). Module list in RTU Status was only showing the configured modules in the RTU. This has been changed to show all modules detected on the backplane (#2764). SCP errors during firmware download via SSH were not being detected by Toolbox PLUS. This has been corrected (#2969). Toolbox could crash if the connection was removed whilst the waiting for RTU to FINISH rebooting message was displayed. This has been fixed (#2982). Incorrect backup directory location was causing Toolbox PLUS to crash whilst attempting to save a project. This has been corrected (#3078). The ability to set the default online status of DNP points has been added through import/export mechanism of Toolbox. A new DnpDefaultOnline column has been added to the spreadsheet (#3131). Migrating a project from Version 1.3 to 2.0 with OS language set to Chinese would fail. This has been corrected (#3132). Exporting variables with small high, low or deadband limits could result in incorrect limits being saved into the exported file. This has been corrected (#3165). In the security section, when a new child window is created and then focus is moved to the desktop and back to Toolbox PLUS, the child window is hidden behind the main window and difficult to access. This has been corrected (#3172). Diagrams of dialog boxes in Toolbox PLUS Help have been updated to reflect correct appearance (#3178). AI-1 scaling description has been added to the Toolbox PLUS Help documentation (#3179). Exporting floating point variables was causing their values to be converted to integers, which then subsequently caused the import to fail. This has been corrected (#3200). IO-5 point dictionary point descriptions were incorrect. This has been corrected (#3203). Changes to Mapped DNP point settings were not being remembered when the dialog was closed. This has been corrected (#3218). Redundant projects with an option I2 configured would cause Toolbox PLUS to crash if mirroring was turned off. This has been corrected (#3239). Corrected some issues related to firmware download fails between various firmware versions. (#2856, #3258). Toolbox PLUS Manual corrections (#1104, #1176, #2144, #2241, #2371, #2516, #2942, #2960, #2967, #2987, #3010). Page 4 of 15
Version (Build 7612, July 19, 2016) New functionality Check the firmware release notes to confirm support in specific firmware versions for these new functions. Network Time Protocol on MC-31 NTP protocol has been changed to allow operation through any Ethernet port (except option T2) on the CP-30 and MC-31. This feature requires CP-30 firmware 4163 or greater. See Toolbox PLUS help for details. (#2961, #2692) Configurable Modbus-TCP port number Modbus TCP protocol now has the ability to set the incoming and outgoing TCP port number via the protocol properties dialog. This feature requires CP-30 firmware 4163 or greater. See Toolbox PLUS help for details. (#1937, #2986, #3024) RTU time zone An RTU may be set into a standard time zone. When that is done: dates and times received by Toolbox PLUS from the RTU are shown in the RTU s time zone, and the RTU s internal system time is in UTC (Coordinated Universal Time). Previous behaviour can be obtained by leaving the RTU time zone set to unspecified. See the RTU Time Zone section of the manual or on-line help for details (#1862, #387, #1088, #167). Send SMS messages via various Ethernet Routers Toolbox PLUS can configure both CP-30 and MC-31 to allow SMS messages to be sent using ISaGRAF logic. The on-board Ethernet port, Option T3 or A3 can be configured for the SMS protocol. The routers supported initially are: Cybertec 2220W, Maxon EM-770W UNI, Netcomm 4G M2M. See online help for guidance, including setup for other kinds of router. New ISaGRAF function blocks (Power, SNMP, 64 bit floating point) On-line help has more details for the following new functions: GET_LOWBATT returns Lithium battery failure status (#1430). SET_BPAUX controls I/O field power (#2694). SET_BPFIELD controls AUX power (#2694). SNMP_SET_VALUE writes value of any type to a remote device (#2816). SNMP_GET_BULK reads multiple values from a remote device (#2822). F64UNPACK and F64PACK convert between one 64 bit floating point number and 4 integers (#2696, #2751). ISaGRAF debugging over T3 Option card (#2805) ISaGRAF debugging is now supported on T3 option cards as well as the main Ethernet port of the CP-30. To change debugging from main port to T3, change Connection Settings to the desired debug port IP address of the T3. To swap from T3 to main Ethernet port, enter the IP address of the main Ethernet port in Connection settings. Page 5 of 15
Changes Company name change to Servelec Technologies from Semaphore Australia (#2911) Support for G30 has been removed from Toolbox PLUS. New G30 projects will not be possible, and migration of G30 projects is no longer supported. (#2991). Toolbox PLUS will no longer operate on Windows XP. This is because Toolbox PLUS is now using.net Framework 4.5, which is not available on Windows XP (#2776). During firmware download there was no feedback detailing the progress of the download. This has been corrected. (#2781) Toolbox was displaying Integrity check Error when attempting to open some configurations that contained read only files. This has been corrected. (#2959) Isagraf debug is now available via T3 Ethernet option ports on the CP-30. To debug Isagraf via a T3 port, set the Toolbox/Connection IP address to that of the T3 port before entering Isagraf. (#2805) Toolbox Installer software has been upgraded to the latest version to mitigate any windows vulnerabilities. (#2990) During migration a backup of the original project is taken. If migration failed and the restore of the backup failed, then both the backup and original project would be deleted. Now the backup will be retained if the migration fails and the original project cannot be restored. (#2922) When mapping and then un-mapping a DNP point to an I/O module, the range settings on the point were not being set to the correct values. This has been corrected. (#3044) When a mirrored redundancy project was un-mirrored, the secondary processors ports could not be modified without corruption. This has been corrected. (#3041) Pressing F1 in the Modbus TCP protocol setting dialog now links to the correct location in the help file. (#2987) Repaired the problem that sometimes caused Toolbox PLUS to display a message box containing Sequence contains more than one matching element when saving a project after altering the IP address of the on-board Ethernet port of a CP-30 (#2889). A double click on a RTU name in the navigation tree now shows the RTU properties dialog, rather than: o A module properties dialog (after a module from the Projects pane is selected) o An edit variable dialog (after a variable from the Dictionary pane is selected) (#864). Comms analyzer now works with Option I2 ports 2.1 and 3.1 (#2667). If firmware version 3875 or later is used, comms analyzer also works with ports 2.2 and 3.2 (#2844). Various clarification and corrections in user manual and on line help. When you retrieve events from an RTU that is generating events: o o Events logged after the retrieval starts will not be retrieved (#2729), limiting retrieval time. Previously, retrieval continued until all events were retrieved. The software now retrieves the number of events you ask for. Previously, when one or more events were recorded during the early stages of event log retrieval, all events were retrieved. (#946, #EFS ). Page 6 of 15
Version (Build 6817, September 11, 2015) Summary This package contains updated Toolbox PLUS software for configuring and monitoring Kingfisher CP30/G30 based RTUs. This release includes changes since version New functionality These both require recent firmware. Check the firmware release notes to confirm support in specific firmware versions: Dual serial (I2) option card can be configured (#2400). Improved security for SSH sessions used to configure the RTU (#2588). Changes Now named Toolbox PLUS rather than Toolbox PLUS+. Support for Windows XP is withdrawn. Project file, if found on the RTU, is uploaded but not used. made since service update Dictionary groups created in ISaGRAF are not shown in Toolbox (#131) When ISaGRAF is closed after adding variable groups, the groups cannot be seen in the application's dictionary. Settings lost when adding a new RTU (#233) Page 8 of 15
When adding a new RTU, settings other than the RTUs name, such as GPS details, are lost when closing the dialog for the first time. Configuration upload when no project loaded (#334) If no project is open it is not possible to upload an RTU's configuration. Lock up if communications lost during download using SSH protocol (#394) When downloading configuration or firmware to an RTU, and the communication to the RTU fails, the application may lock up. Analogue scaling not copied when copying an RTU (#494) When copying an RTU, using copy and paste, module analogue scaling settings are not copied. Being asked to save an old project when no changes made (#776) When closing a project a dialog can appear asking you to save the project, even if no changes were made. This occurs when the project created in an older version of the application is opened in the new version. Cancelling service report upload doesn't work (#990) While uploading a service report clicked Cancel and then Yes on the confirmation dialog. The progress dialog remains open. Duplicate button doesn't copy MC31 port settings (#1205) After duplicating settings between primary and secondary CPs, MC31 port settings are still different. Download configuration, logic, and project fails occasionally (#1589) A download to an RTU starts but fails. Exception thrown when click build button clicked twice (#1915) If the build button is clicked twice an error message is displayed. Paste menu not enabled after RTU cut using keyboard (#2011) If an RTU is cut from a project using CNTRL-X it can be pasted back into a project using CNTRL-V but the paste menu item is not enabled. Group tree node rename not fully effective until project reloaded (#2023) After renaming a group in a project the tooltip text, seen when mouse hovers over the tree node, continues to use the old name. The tooltip text is correct after saving and reloading the project. Changes to DNP3 secure update key is not always saved (#2069) The DNP3 secure update key is not updated in the RTU if no other setting on the route's advance tab is changed. Page 9 of 15
Version (September 23, 2014) Summary Version is a service update for the release. It provides a new ISaGRAF DNP3 master time synchronisation function block. Page 10 of 15
Version (September 13, 2013) Summary Version is a service update for the release. It provides some bug fixes. Pressing DEL in dictionary filter edit box causes delete RTU dialog to appear (#312). Download files not force to rebuild after project migration from an earlier version of Toolbox (#668). Always use Kingfisher protocol option in connection dialog can be reset after service report upload (#897). Unable to find slot error message when opening old project in new Toolbox (#1040). Keyboard CNTRL-C & CNTRL-V could not be used in some edit controls (#1053). DNP3 AI variable dead band corrupted after migrating project from an earlier version of Toolbox. The project needed to have been created using Toolbox or earlier (#1060). Page 11 of 15
Version (August 30, 2013) Summary Highlights of this release include: Communications Analyzer feature. New upload service report diagnostics feature. Routes support DNP3 with zero target address. Bit options on MC31 serial port are configurable (requires CP30 firmware 2902). Simplified DNP3 AI threshold and dead band configuration. Other improvements and bug fixes. See below for more details. Note: New projects created using this software should only be used with CP30/G30 firmware version 2874 or later. Some features may require newer firmware, as noted in this document. New functionality Comms Analyzer feature added (#806). New button in left pane Comms Analyzer provides advanced communications analyser capabilities. Upload service report allows rapid generation of a report from an RTU that may be sent to Semaphore support to assist with customer issues (#568). Supports route using DNP3 with zero target address (requires CP30 firmware 2902) (#318). Bit options on MC31 serial port are configurable (requires CP30 firmware 2902) (RD359). Show application log file menu item added to the Help menu. Changes Full installer (Toolbox & ISaGRAF) is now shipped on USB stick. Setting thresholds in DNP3 AI edit variables dialog has been simplified (#702). The advanced tab has been removed and thresholds percentages and absolute values are now set on the same tab. Route default timeout changed from 1 second to 5 seconds (#558). The default timeout is only used when adding new routes. Customer s existing projects will not be affected. After opening a project saved by an older version of Toolbox PLUS a migration report appears listing errors and warnings (if any). Removed Google Satellite and Open Street Map Surfer Terrain map services as they are no longer accessible by the product. All other map services remain (#349, #350). Many improvements to migration of older projects (#848, #780, #641, #756, #511). SNMP RMS protocol selection lost on port in (#733). After editing port settings in , the SNMP RMS protocol was removed from configured ports and could not be selected. Customers will need to reselect the protocol after migrating the project to this release. Downloading firmware 2676 using Kingfisher protocol failed (#514, #339). Page 12 of 15
Improved firmware upgrade function reliability (#322, #359, #396, #397, #459, #464). Improved configuration download function reliability (#336, #353, #361). When configuring T3 ports a Must be on unique subnet error messages appeared when another port was configured on the same subnet but on a different module (#749). Unique subnets are only required for ports on the same module. Optimised order that DNP3 variable are downloaded to a CP-30 to reduce CP-30 boot time for project with a large number of variables (#847). Displaying RTU properties by right mouse clicking on an RTU, when displaying the dictionary for that RTU, is now faster (#841). The dictionary was being, unnecessarily updated. DNP3 AI variables limits now update immediately when the analogue input scaling is changed (#761). Previously it may have been necessary to view the limits in the Edit Variable dialog before changes took effect. In the Edit Variable dialog the event variation was selectable, even though class 0 was selected, on DNP3 AI real (IOPOINT_R) variables (#811). In some projects, when duplicating redundant CP-30s, not all port configurations where copied from the primary CP-30 to the secondary CP-30 correctly (#741). This will have affected a small number of projects. Rerunning the duplication (if applicable) in this version will ensure all setting are copied correctly. This is recommended when migrating old projects with duplicate redundant CP-30s. In the Edit Port dialog, the native Kingfisher protocol could be deselected on the primary port (#560). However this was a UI issue only and did not affect CP-30 behaviour. This protocol is always enabled on the primary port. Discovery did not work in all scenarios (#158, #341). It did not support multiple networks connected to the computer and in some circumstances did not find multiple RTUs. Improved useability of Add Route edit dialog (#489). Entering a route to the RTU would not always generate an error message (route to self). Page 13 of 15
Version (November 2, 2012) Summary Highlights of this release include: New firmware upgrade procedure, which allows all firmware components to be upgraded using Toolbox PLUS and a standard network connection. Feedback is provided to the user throughout the upgrade process. Chinese gas standard ISaGRAF function blocks (GB/T and GB/T21446) Many other improvements and bug fixes. See below for more details. Note: This software should be used with CP30/G30 firmware version 2874 or later. Change Description The following is a summary of the changes made since version (16-May-2012). New functionality Firmware upgrade function now supports upgrade packages containing Linux kernel and/or boot loader. Firmware and configuration download now reads status from firmware so that progress and overall success or failure can be reported. Added Chinese gas standard ISaGRAF function blocks (GB/T and GB/T21446) Added DNPM_LINK_RESET ISaGRAF function block. Changes Double clicking on RTU tree entry is now used solely for displaying the RTU properties dialog. It now does nothing if ISaGRAF is open (previously it opened the RTU status dialog). (#122) RTU Status dialog is now modal (must be closed in order to access other controls) Online help now links to the PDF format user manual, rather than using Windows Help. Added extra warning dialog when Update ISaGRAF selected. (#303) Routes were not being updated properly when the module on which they were defined (eg MC31) was removed or moved to a different slot. (#7, #8) Ensure that multiple protocols can only be selected on ports that support them. Crash on configuration upload when no RTU loaded (#18,#104) DNP3 trip/close binary outputs were not being configured correctly. (#66) Some projects created by earlier versions of Toolbox+ which contain DNP3 binary outputs were not being upgraded correctly, resulting in the points not being able to be controlled via DNP3. (#57) Ethernet discovery function was not working. (#17) Reduced the communications poll rate when RTU Status Date/Time tab is displayed. (#70) Improved the operation of the RTU Status Dialog; in particular the underlying RTU communications. (#78) An error was reported when importing previously exported fractional analog values. (#30) Page 14 of 15
Possible crash after moving a module to a different slot. (#226) Added workaround for ISaGRAF crash on exit under Windows 7. (#27) Improved Kingfisher protocol message retry handling. Firmware/configuration update failure on systems running special monitor process (#315) Page 15 of 15
