2 The Watchman Entry System is the newest product from CellGate. Watchman is meant to be an easily installed self-contained gate or door entry system. This document will provide the steps needed to install and test the Watchman unit on the customer site. The first part of the procedure requires logging into the web portal system and setting up some users to create codes and access permissions. Once the web portal configuration is complete, you are ready to go on-site. The other part of the document provides the details on the electrical connections needed to be made in the Watchman unit. In addition, the appendices provide information on how to connect the Watchman to various gate controllers. Please note the physical installation of the Watchman unit to a stand or pole should follow standard construction procedures and meet all code requirements. All electrical cables should be run in conduit, this includes both power and Ethernet cables needed for the operation of the system. 5 Prior to installing the Watchman System at the customer location it is recommended the following steps are completed. This will allow for on-site testing when the installation is complete. Login into the web portal using the customer login information provided by CellGate. Portal is at: Verify device information on the portal dashboard for gate trigger, internal camera and where applicable, the external camera Go to the user section, select the customer user information and double click on the customer user. In Access Methods, select Access Code

6 Enter a new access code to be used during testing of the unit and add the method. In order to setup notifications follow these instructions: 1. Click on Notifications 2. Click Add Button for the notification you want to add. 3. Select Notification Type: SMS Standard Text Message MMS Multimedia Texts (for pictures) standard 4. Complete the contact information 5. Save the information Door Opened Door Closed Will inform the user when the gate is opened and closed. Prop Open Prop Open Clear Will send a report when the gate is open for 3 minutes. When the gate closes another message can be sent. Opened Will send a notification whenever the gate or door is opened with time, date, name of the gate, access code used and the person associated with the access code.

7 Camera Picture Taken Picture will be sent to assigned contacts Scheduled Message Failure Will send message when any device scheduling fails. The Electrical connections should be made as shown in the following steps. Mount the unit. In this example we show mounting to a 48 (122 cm) gooseneck pole. Pull power / gate control into the unit. It is recommended the top of the unit be at a minimum of 50 (127 cm) from the ground. For optional external camera, run additional power and Ethernet. Wire the power adapter provided as shown to the right. The far end of the cable should be wired as shown below. Open the box, and pull the power and gate connection from board and wire as indicated. Make sure to wire gate operator using the same wires as indicated here. Wire diagrams for some of the more common gate operators is provided in the appendix. 8 Optional: When installing an external camera, make the following additional connections as shown. See Appendix 1 for Camera Side. Power connection: Red 12 V DC Black - Common Ethernet connection from camera should be put in next available port on switch. Close the case. Make the required connections to the gate operator as detailed in the appropriate manufacturer s documentation. Power the system. NOTE: The appendices contain references for connecting to different gate controllers. Once the electrical connections are made, it will take the modem 5 minutes to complete initialization. After this is complete the modem lights should be as follows:

9 Post Installation Testing Once the system is fully installed and booted the following tests should be performed to confirm proper configuration and installation. 11 Troubleshooting Guide In the event there is a problem with the installation, please refer to the table below for a possible solution. Condition Unit does not power up Modem does not power up Gate does not open Gate code does not work Possible Resolution Check 12V power connections to the unit Check 12V power connections both on the board and on the back of the modem. Check connections on the gate controller and verify they match the controller block on the Watchman control board. Unplug control block from Watchman control board and tie the Normally Open and Common together. (These are the yellow and blue wires from the diagram above.) This should trigger the gate to open. If it does not, there is a continuity problem in one of the two wires. Verify the correct gate code in web portal. Make sure to press key button to enter code. Verify user the code is associated with code has permission to open gate. Verify users are defined in web portal and are members of the call group. Push To Call does not ring users External camera not powered External camera is not taking pictures Unit connection to web portal inconsistent Verify users are logged into Watchman App. Users need to have the app AND be logged into the App to receive calls. Verify cabling and connections on camera and in the Watchman Unit Verify Ethernet cable is properly connected on the camera and on the Ethernet switch. Verify Ethernet connection on switch is active. There are lights on top of the switch that should be lit for all connected devices. Check modem for signal strength Check antenna connections on modem. Verify power connections on modem

13 Appendix 1 External Camera Installation Watchman supports the installation of an external camera for the system. The camera supplied for Watchman is the Milesight IR Pro Bullet Network Camera. The Milesight camera is the ONLY supported camera. WARNING: DO NOT MAKE ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS TO CAMERA WITH THE SYSTEM ENERGIZED. THIS WILL DAMAGE THE CAMERA AND IS NOT COVERED UNDER THE CAMERA WARRANTY. The Milesight device includes the following items: Milesight IR Pro Bullet Network Camera Mounting Hardware Milesight IR Pro Bullet Network Camera 12 V Power Connection Power to connector as shown in OPTIONAL step of the installation instructions above. Ethernet Connector When installing the camera, please make sure to run all connections in conduit. Also, make sure all camera connections are run with the rest of cables through the back of the Watchman unit. DO NOT make any penetrations to the Watchman device. Any new penetrations of the Watchman device will void the warranty on the device and all the components inside it.

14 Appendix 2: Ethernet Cable Connector Please use the following diagram to wire the RJ-45 plug for Ethernet connections. White/Orange Orange White/Green Blue White/Blue Green White/Brown Brown It is recommended you use EZ-RJ-45 connectors. This way you can confirm the correct color code after pulling the cables through.
