1 i Product Presentations Product-News Figure 1: Explosion protected compact camera, monitoring station and recording system CCTV package solution for hazardous areas on gas- and oil-rigs R. STAHL has compiled a scaleable package of cameras and recording systems for camera surveillance in hazardous areas on gas and oil rigs. In addition to making operations safer, it enables users to carry out a thorough study of causes and fix any problems if they arise. The system supports both live monitoring at HMI stations as well as complete documentation of events. The standard package includes four cameras whose video signals can be recorded manipulation-protected for up to ten days. This network-compliant solution, which also permits authorised remote access to images via the internet can, if necessary, be easily expanded to include two or four times as many cameras. The recording capacity, which as a standard is covered by a 500 GB hard disk, can be easily expanded to meet a specific application's requirements. Resolutions of up to 4 CIF with 704 x 576 pixels can be selected for the H.264 compressed digital video files. A PTZ control module is available for the remote control of the pan/tilt/zoom functions of the cameras. The standard package includes four spherical cameras type EC-710 for zones 1 and 2, which can also withstand the rough ambient conditions on offshore platforms in extreme climates. Their steel housing can withstand aggressive chemical influences. The cameras can be installed in ambient temperatures ranging from -40 C to +75 C. A heater is used to prevent condensation or frost forming on the surface. With a diameter of only 55 mm and a weight of 435 grams, the cameras can be fitted even into the smallest of spaces. The fixed viewing angle of the hardened lens is ± 81 horizontally and 68 vertically, 70 or 33 are availible as well. Four constant monitors, ten days' live recording in the can. In addition to the EC-710 and other camera types, video server and recording technology, different HMI stations for local surveillance and suitable software solutions, R. STAHL can also provide any peripherals as part of the system solution. A broad range of cables, switches, explosion-protected terminal boxes as well as additional input devices such as keyboard or joystick for remote control camera models are available. 2 Figure 2: Thanks to continuous monitoring of the earthing connection, type 8485 and 7485 grounding monitoring devices ensure excellent safety in hazardous areas New solutions for safe electrostatic grounding in hazardous areas When handling combustible liquids or powders, operators are faced with an invisible, often underrated risk: electrostatic discharges, a potential source of sparks that can ignite explosive atmospheres. In order to prevent this, and to enable the safe handling of flammable substances, R. STAHL offers the new type 8485 and type 7485 grounding monitoring devices. These units ensure the safe elimination of electrostatic charges during the loading and unloading of tank vehicles such as tank trucks or tank wagons. Unlike simple earthing cables, this solution continuously monitors the connection between the grounding monitoring device and the grounded object. Impaired or broken connections due to cable damages or operating errors are detected and signalled to the operator via a red indicating lamp. Additionally, two relay contacts allow for an automatic interruption of the loading process. Furthermore, the new grounding devices also enable users to differentiate between the connection of the clamp with tank trucks and the connection with the loading equipment, thus considerably reducing the risk of operator errors. The grounding monitoring devices are suitable for outdoor installation and can even be used in extreme climates (-50 C to +60 C). Both types are contained in a housing with a degree of protection IP devices are designed for use in zone 1, while the 7485 series has been optimised for installation in zone 2 as well as in hazardous dust atmospheres zone 21 and 22. A two-channel version, i.e. a model with two earthing clamps, allows for efficient monitoring of combined loading units, e.g. trains and trucks. In this case, the monitoring mode can be individually adapted to the application for each of the two clamps. In addition to the corrosion-resistant earthing clamp with high contact pressure, the solution includes a robust, oil-resistant cable. The clamps are available with standard cables, spiral cables or an automatic retractor suitable for use in zone 1. Figure 3: Bright and energy-efficient: LED signal lights from R.STAHL. Energy-efficient and low maintenance LED signal lights from R. STAHL In addition to tried-and-tested models with halogen and Xenon flash lamps, R. STAHL's 6162 series of signal lights type of protection flameproof enclosures now also includes energy-saving LED-based continuous light and rotating light (beacon light). These new models are suitable for use in hazardous zones 1, 2, 21, and 22. With little self-heating, they fulfill the requirements of temperature class T6 and surface temperature for dust explosions protection T80 C. Thanks to innovative, bright LED technology with a current consumption of merely ma, the maintenance-free luminaires reach a lifetime of 50,000 hours. The rotating version features no moving parts. All signal lights are designed for 24 V DC and 230 V AC supply voltages. Their glass hoods have a grooved structure which ensures optimal light distribution. A robust, saltwater-resistant aluminum housing provides degree of protection IP66 for all models. The glass hoods are available in signal colours yellow, red, and orange. A wide range of mounting options enables easy installation and application flexibility. Outpost in zone 2 / division 2: Explosion protected WLAN access point for process installations The 9710-type explosion protected WLAN access point from R. STAHL enables radio communication in process installations in zone 2 / division 2. The robust device has been designed for typical operating conditions in the chemical, petrochemical and pharmaceutical industries and the oil and gas sector: It with-stands temperatures between -30 and +60 C and can be easily operated in outdoor areas. The compact access point is available with a plastic or stainless steel enclosure, both of which provide high IP degree and high impact resistance. The high-performance solution can be configured as an access point, or optionally as a bridge or access client. In addition to its main access point functionality for communication with mobile WLAN clients such as notebooks or PDAs, the device also supports point-to-point Ethernet communication. Thanks to its high data throughput, it can serve as a WLAN client, e.g. combined with camera monitoring systems from R. STAHL. For that purpose, it communicates via the widespread IEEE a/b/g industry standard. The 9710-type access point can be easily and intuitively configured via an integrated web server, which also provides diagnostic functions. Figure 4: The compact and robust type 9710 from R. 3 Product-News Alternatively, the integrated OPC server can be used for diagnosis. Optionally, the access point can be supplied via Power over Ethernet, which considerably reduces wiring efforts during installation. If required, R. STAHL Online in zone2 /division 2 with powerful WLAN access point. supplies WLAN hardware as a complete package which also includes services such as radio network planning, commissioning and acceptance inspection, thus ensuring stable operation of the radio solution on location. STAHL's 9719-type GSM/GPRS modem, which combines a robust design with stateof-the-art technology and easy installation, allows users to fully benefit from the advantages of GSM/GPRS data communication in zone 1 or 2 hazardous areas for the first time. Designed as a quad-band device, the 9719 modem is suitable for use in process installations in virtually all world regions. Thanks to degree of protection IP67, the unit can be installed in outdoor areas without an additional enclosure. The SIM card holder and the antenna interface are intrinsically safe, thus enabling users to safely change SIM cards or install antennas during on-going operation in hazardous areas. The modem is directly connected to a PLC, an Industrial PC or an Open- HMI via an RS232 interface. It comes with a wide range of functions, which can easily be configured via the same AT command set as conventional modems for standard industry applications. An LED display continuously indicates the modem status. GSM/GPRS data communication has many uses in the process industry, e.g. monitoring unmanned pumping stations, remote tank farms or machines such as centrifuges or compressors. Users benefit not only from the fact that this communication technology is ideally suited for mobile applications: additionally, GPRS allows for the establishment of cost-efficient data connections. Communication is thereby rendered independent from the IT- infrastructure that is fixed installed on location, and, unlike WLAN technology, no longer requires users to implement their own radio network. The modem can be supplied in two ways: integrated into a stainless steel enclosure or the featuring a GRP enclosure. Completely wireless switching devices via radio for use in hazardous areas R. STAHL's new 8074 F series position switches and 8040 F control equipment are truly and completely wireless solutions for radio signal communication, requiring neither signal lines, nor external energy supply connections. Users therefore need not worry about any wiring when, for example, retrofitting the control equipment into difficult-toaccess machines or installations. Since there is no need to route cables around or over joints or bearings, the switches are particularly suitable for reporting positions from movable machine parts. The switching signals are transmitted on the license-free SDR band at 868 MHz. Up to 300 m maximum radio distance outdoors and a 30 m distance inside buildings ensures that receiving units can usually be placed within safe areas. Otherwise, the receiver can be protected by a flameproof enclosure. The explosion protected switching devices generate the energy required for sending data telegrams by means of an integrated induction generator: When the switching element is actuated, the kinetic energy of the switching process is electrodynamically harvested, and immediately used to feed the radio module. In contrast to battery-supplied wireless switches, these self-supporting units do not need any periodical servicing to remain fully functional. Wireless signal transmission explosion protected, for use under difficult conditions! With a maximum transmitting power of 10 mw and maximum energy quantities of 50 µj, radio communication according to the EnOcean Standard does not cause an explosion through its own potential source of ignition. Both switching units are suitable for operation in a wide temperature range from -20 to +60 C. The 8040 F control devices are fitted in a rugged metal housing with degree of protection IP 65 designed to withstand extreme harsh environmental conditions. It can be use in zones 1, 2, 21 and 22. WirelessHART gateway for wireless sensor/ actuator networks The acceptance of wireless communication in process installations has been taken to a new level by the introduction of the international WirelessHART standard. WirelessHART is the first solution to allow users to connect field devices such as sensors or actuators from different manufacturers in one network. 4 R. STAHL's robust type-9715 gateway is a key component of such radio networks. The compact device can be operated in hazardous areas of zone 2 / division 2, thus meeting a basic prerequisite for use in the chemical and petro-chemical industries, the oil and gas sector and the pharmaceutical industry. The combination of a WirelessHART gateway and a network manager ensures easy commissioning and comfortable maintenance of the sensor/actuator network. The key component for sensor / actor networks! The gateway communicates with process control or asset management systems via a modern Ethernet interface. In addition to a standard RJ45 socket for coaxial cables, the Ethernet interface also provides an optional connection for fiber optic cables, thus enabling the integration of optical networks which are common in wide-ranging plants due to great communication distances. Featuring a redundant power supply, the unit ensures high availability. A PoE (Power over Ethernet) supply is also possible, making investments in parallel power supply and data transfer cables unnecessary. Combined with R. STAHL's wide range of enclosures, this solution meets all standard requirements in process industry applications: moulded and stainless steel enclosures are available as highly robust, shock-proof models with high IP degree. The gateway is suitable for ambient temperatures between -40 and +65 C, thus qualifying for use in virtually all world regions. Ex i-limit switch for SIL 2 applications A new isoiator of ISpac series suitable for functional safety R. STAHL's range of ISpac 9162-type transmitter supply units with limit value contacts has been expanded through the addition of a new model that can be used in safety-related process automation applications according to IEC EN 61508/ The new model increases the application range of the versatile ISpac isolator series in implementing safety-related installations in hazardous areas. The trip amplifiers feature a very space-saving design. The new ISpac module is the first solution worldwide to provide intrinsic safety, limit value analysis and SIL suitability while taking up only 17.6 mm on the DIN rail. The units can be installed and operated in zone 2, thus providing users in machine building applications with considerably more flexibility in the planning of plants and machines. The unit detects cable breaks and short circuits, and directly signals these to the plant operator via LED, error contact and the analog output signal. This allows users to detect and eliminate malfunctions quickly, thereby increasing the efficiency of production installations. The unit's compact design and easy operation facilitate mounting and commissioning. It can be mounted on DIN rails or installed as a pac-carrier component for efficient integration into safety PLCs. In addition to the intrinsically safe trip amplifier, R. STAHL also introduces a non-ex i model, thus providing a wide range of solutions for mixed intrinsically safe and non hazardous applications. Ex i temperature transmitter for SIL 2 applications ISpac isolator range features new functional safety capability The ISpac 9182 series of temperature transmitters has been extended through the addition of a new model suitable for use in safety-related process automation applications according to IEC EN / The isolator meets SIL 2 requirements. This new model therefore not only enables process installation engineers and operators to implement an intrinsically safe integration of virtually all types of temperature sensors into an automation system, but also ensures that all requirements concerning functional safety are fulfilled. Highly precise, high resolution conversion of measured values facilitates efficient process control. Any cable breaks or short circuits between sensor and temperature transmitter that may occur are detected and immediately brought to the attention of the plant operator via LED, error contact, and analog output signal. It is suitable for DIN rail mounting as well as for efficient integration in safety PLCs as a pac-carrier component. ISpac 9182 temperature transmitters have a proven track record around the world in a wide range of process automation applications.. The new ISpac 9182 model now ensures an even wider application range for the versatile ISpac isolator series in the installation of safety-oriented plants in areas with potentially explosive atmospheres. Remote I/O system IS1 for use in zone 1 is now FF HSE-enabled The market-leading remote I/O system for zone 1 / division 1 applications IS1, for use in hazardous areas zone 1 and division 1, has now been extended to feature its first operational communication interface for FOUNDA- TION TM fieldbus High Speed Ethernet. While the system has supported the Modbus TCP protocol for basic Ethernet performance for some time, the new FF HSE-capable IS1 version now provides users with a more advanced and considerably more powerful Industrial Ethernet protocol implementation. Remote I/O technology allows users to deploy consistent plant communication networks integrating conventional, HART-capable and FOUNDATION TM fieldbus H1 devices. The combination of remote I/O solutions and the fast FF HSE protocol will thus become one of the most attractive signal connection solutions in process automation. R. STAHL has cleared the way for its use in hazardous areas. The FF HSE-capable IS1 prototype, which is based on Softing AG's protocol stack, is, amongst others, employed as a test system in the FF HSE RIO working group. Established in early 2007, this team develops application scenarios and technical specifications regarding the integration of remote I/O technology into the FOUNDATION TM system architecture. Apart from remote I/O manufacturer R. STAHL, active group members include control system makers such as Emerson, Honeywell, Smar, Yamatake and Yokogawa, whose host systems can therefore be expected to offer FF HSE support in the future. The HSE RIO working group has widely finished the specification, and has entered the validation and integration phase. R. STAHL is closely tracking specification developments, and at the present rate of development will be able to place full FF HSE- RIO functionality in IS1 useable in zone 1 to use during planed public demonstrations of interoperability tests in installations of several end users. A mature product is likely to be launched in late ISbus fieldbus technology: Advanced Fieldbus Power Supply provides unique integrated features for physical layer diagnosis In addition to the ISbus Fieldbus Power Supply System, R. STAHL introduces a new, innovative power supply for FOUNDATION fieldbus H1 applications. The Advanced Fieldbus Power Supply features a wide range of additional diagnostic functions for monitoring fieldbus segments. Due to attractive pricing making it approximately 10% above the simple Fieldbus Power Supply, the high-performance type enables complete, continuous plant monitoring without considerably raising the investment costs. The Advanced Fieldbus Power Supply continuously reads the physical parameters (physical layer) of the fieldbus, such as voltage and current on the trunk, communication level, noise level, asymmetries and jitter. If these parameters deteriorate by a value that can be freely adjusted on the device, the system will signal a warning via a yellow LED and simultaneously transfer the warning message to the control system via a potential-free relay contact. Situations that completely exceed or fall below the fieldbus specification are signalled via a red LED and the relay contact. The Advanced Fieldbus Power Supply can be connected to a PC via a serial interface in order Safe and complete monitoring with the new integrated concept to read out data if detailed informa-tion about physical layer parameters is required. Just like the basic version, the Advanced Fieldbus Power Supply System supplies the fieldbus with 28 V and 500 ma and enables a 1 A supply via a parallel connection of two devices in Boost mode. An additional advantage: the optional redundant supply also ensures redundant diagnosis. The units, which can be installed on a DIN rail or on bus-carriers, can be operated in mixed installations with basic models. Featuring the completely new integrated physical layer diagnosis concept, the Advanced Fieldbus Power Supply System allows for integrated, cost-efficient monitoring of fieldbus installations, rendering complex and costly separate diagnosis modules unnecessary. 6 DTM for IS1 field devices now certified R. STAHL has provided a Device Type Manager (DTM) for the IS1 remote I/O system for some time now. This DTM enables users to fully configure, parameterize and administrate all I/O modules as well as the CPM unit (gateway) and connected HART field devices via Profibus DP through the use of a FDT-capable program (FDT frame application). The DTM has been tested by means of the dtminspector, the official DTM test and certification tool of the FDT Group, whose version has been certified since the end of This ensures full interoperability of the IS1 DTM with corresponding FDT frame applications and protects users from unwelcome surprises during commissioning and operation. R. STAHL's IS1-DTM provides users with an integration solution whose functional range is presently unique in the market. All data, e.g. parameterization and serial numbers as well as diagnostic and error messages about the IS1 system and connected field devices are available for analysis through suitable diagnostic tools and asset management systems. Thanks to an integrated condition monitoring functionality, the DTM not only allows for parameterization, but also enables cyclic monitoring of connected HART field devices, provided that this is supported by the FDT frame. STAHL's remote I/O system IS1 now features the FDT certification The modular DTM design allows for a flexible configuration of IS1 systems and facilitates extensions and modifications of existing structures via the frame application. Configuration data and parameters can be changed during operation without halting the process. Diagnostic and I/O status signals can be read and written without a connected automation system, which is especially beneficial during commissioning and error diagnosis. Further functions allow users to generate an audit trail, print labels for I/O modules and import or export parameter data. The DTM is also suitable for R. STAHL's new, Ethernet-capable IS1 version. In this case, it is combined with Modbus TCP communication DTM specially developed for IS1 to ensure smooth integration.
