1 General Operator dialogue terminals Presentation Compact display units Magelis XBT N and compact terminals Magelis XBT R/RT are used to display messages and variales. In addition, Magelis compact terminals XBT RT can display small graphic elements. Various keys can e used to: Modify variales. Control a device. Navigate in an operator dialogue application. XBT R Operation Entry customisation Control customisation XBT N00 XBT RT00 On terminals XBT RT, the touchscreen can also e used for modifying variales, controlling equipment and navigating within the dialogue application. Models incorporating a printer port enale printing of alarm messages. All Magelis compact display units feature the same ergonomic user interface: A confi gurale touchscreen, on XBT RT only ( touch-sensitive mode). service keys (, ) confi gurale for contextual link or control, on XBT N/R and XBT RT ( entry / control modes). service keys (ESC, ENTER), non confi gurale. 2 General Operator dialogue terminals Configuration Magelis compact display units and terminals can e confi gured using Vijeo Designer Lite software in a Windows environment. The Vijeo Designer Lite software uses the concept of pages: each page can e viewed in its entirety. A, or 0-line window, depending on the display unit model to e confi gured, enales viewing the screen of this virtual terminal. The symol dataases of TwidoSoft, PL and Concept applications can e imported into the Vijeo Designer Lite operator dialogue application. Vijeo Designer Lite Communication Display unit XBT N Display units XBT N and terminals XBT R/RT communicate with PLCs via an integrated point-to-point or multidrop serial link, depending on model. Twido controller The communication protocols used are those of Schneider Electric PLCs (Uni-TE, Modus), as well as those of the other major manufacturers on the market. 66-EN_Ver.0.indd

3 Functions Operator dialogue terminals Functions XBT N/R/RT have, on the front panel, function keys and service keys (according to control and entry customisation). The XBT RT features a confi gurale touchscreen in touch-sensitive operating mode. Function keys F Function keys are defi ned for the whole application. Their numer depends on the model: F, F, F, F on XBT N. F F on XBT R. F F0 or F...F according to confi guration on XBT RT. They can have the following functions: Accessing a page. Pulsed control. Push and push-to-release control. etc. In addition, with terminal XBT R the function keys switch to numeric inputs 0, +/- on pressing the MOD key. Function keys R for XBT RT ( entry mode) Function keys R, R, R and R of the XBT RT are defi ned for the pages displayed. They can e used for: Accessing a page. Memorising memory its. Toggling memory its (ON/OFF). Resetting to /0 of memory its. An icon can e displayed on the screen aove the Ri keys. This icon is defi ned using the Vijeo Designer Lite software. Matrix ( x cells) touchscreen for XBT RT The touchscreen can e configured to e active on XBT RT ( touch-sensitive mode). This is used for: Accessing a page. Memorising/toggling memory its. Modifying a numeric fi eld via a virtual numeric keypad. Service keys Service keys, ESC, DEL,,, MOD, ENTER,, are used for modifying the parameters of the automation system. They perform the following actions: ESC Cancel an entry, suspend or stop a current action, go ack up a level in a menu. DEL Delete the character selected in entry mode. MOD Select the variale fi eld to enter. Authorise the entry of the next fi eld, on each press, from left to right and top to ottom. ENTER Confi rm a selection or entry, acknowledge an alarm. The arrow keys are used to: v change page within a menu, v display the current alarms, v change a digit in a variale fi eld eing entered, v activate the function associated with a functional link. v move up and down within a page (XBT N0p), v select the value of a digit, v select a value from a list of choices, v increment or decrement the value of a variale fi eld. 66-EN_Ver.0.indd
