4 4 ACCESS CONTROL SYSTEM - CONTROL SOFTWARE Software installation Ch. 1 - System configuration Minimum system requirements: Operating System: Windows XP Professional / Windows 7 Professional / Windows 8 Professional; RS232 serial port (alternatively use a USB/RS232 converter by installing the appropriate drivers). Insert the CD-ROM into the drive and wait for the installation window (or launch the file setup.exe from the folder RBM84 st. 3.x on your PC, if copied locally). After selecting the language of choice, follow the installation procedure instructions on the screen. CAUTION! Windows 7 and Windows 8 users must change software installation path by creating a new folder in local drive C:\. The name of the installation folder can be customised. In the confi guration screenpage, you must select the PC entrance port to which the Pc30 is connected (usually COM1). Caution! This should be done before starting any programming and/or configuration described in the following pages and sections to which the Pc30 is connected, otherwise the software will report a COMMUNICATION ERROR when prompted to update/save. REM" and using the arrows. Click "Exit Names" Update! Assigning a name to the exits connected to RBM84 and REM/TOR Type the name desired for the exits connected to Rbm84 and Rem/TOR in the DEFINE EXIT window. This procedure is optional: the system assigns a default name for each exit available in the system "from "Exit 1" to "Exit 128). (The fi rst 8 exits are for Rbm84 land the others for Rem/TOR) We recommend giving a name to each exit in order to simplify subsequent confi guration operations. Update! For example, a sports centre,where the fee is normally calculated on a time basis, can have other areas where the fee is calculated as a fi xed amount each time. Assign name to selected traffi c light 4. Assign a maximum number of spaces to parking 5. If there are any occupied parking during installation, simply mark these in the occupied box. 6. Select type of function: Autonomous the traffi c light is considered independently and not counted in total Full the traffi c light is part of a group of lights, when all are full the system will signal full 7. Click to set the selected traffi c light values. Caution: after setting name and parameters of the traffi c light, click on the left arrow otherwise the new parameters entered will not be recorded when changing traffi c light. Update! The sensor number corresponds with the sensor connected to the terminal block and marked with the same number, see fi gure. Click "Group". 2. Tick the group of users, in the "Group" window, to which the device will be associated and confi rm with "OK". Caution! This is not an optional procedure, at least one group must be ticked. The "All" button (dis)associates all user groups to the device. The BLUE numbers are enabled groups, while RED are disabled. The exit number corresponds with the sensor connected to the terminal block and marked with the same number, see fi gure. The exit/control device match is independent of the physical connection of the latter on Rbm84 or Rem; 1 2

N.B. There are also functions that differ from those that are standard exits: -Lock -Alarm entrance -Alarm reset -Parking entrance -Parking exit. If no operators are connected, select or leave "Disabled" as proposed in the menu. 28 28 ACCESS CONTROL SYSTEM - CONTROL SOFTWARE Associating a sensor to an exit (REM) Ch. 1 - System configuration In the dropdown menu "Association", select the sensor to a connected exit association and confi rm with [OK]. E.g. If it is sensor 1 of turnstile 1, the association will be Exit 9 (Name can be changed), the turnstile arms move clockwise. If it is sensor 2 of turnstile 1, the association will be Exit 10 and the turnstile arms move anti-clockwise. Sensor 1, will be that of the entrance to the controlled area for the turnstile and sensor 2 will be for exit of the uncontrolled area. Associating a sensor to traffic light control (TOR) In the "Traffi c light" dropdown menu, select association to a traffi c light: this starts an entries/exits counter function if you want to limit the number of transits. (See traffi c light confi guration, p. 12) Update! On the S6000 and S7000 selectors, the keys are numbered only up to 6, meaning that the numbers 7 or 8 cannot be included in the code. 4. Select the type of keypad selector to encode (the number of code digits changes). 5. Type in the number code by clicking the numbers. Access validity The key "Random" generates a random code. 7. Confi rm clicking OK. 1. Time interval mode. The code gains validity by setting a start and end date. 2. "Expiration Warning" Mode When this function is set, the user receives a notifi cation in advance stating that their access is close to expiry (e.g. acoustic alert). 3. "Exit with Negative Credit" Mode If selected, the user may exit even if their credit has expired and may not enter again until they have acquired additional credit. 4. "Unlimited Access" Mode. Setting this mode grants unlimited access to the user. 5. "Timed Access" Mode Setting this mode grants the user access during the time set (between 12 and 96 hours) selecting "Recharge". Time based the user, after having entered, cannot enter again during the antipassback time set and defi ned in "Timed>Time brackets" In/Out the user, after having entered, can re-enter only after exiting. With prepaid access, the user purchases an x number of credit units, whose value is defi ned by the system manager (e.g.: 1,20 Euro/Dollar/Pound/etc. for each unit of credit): RBM84 calculates the units of credit. Set the Credits purchased by the user that will be shown in the box to the left. Ch. 3 - User configuration If the user purchases extra credit before using the remainder, click "+" to add the extra credit purchased. Caution: clicking ">>" instead of "+" to add extra credit purchased to available credit will cause the last purchase to overwrite any leftover credit. "Expiration Warning" Mode When setting this function, the user is notifi ed in advance that their credit is about to expire (e.g. though an acoustic alert), activating a relay exit of the RBM84/REM. With the second, that we will refer to as Fixed Cost Prepaid Access, access rate is fi xed regardless of time parked, in relation to time bracket and day of access. Only the manner of calculating credit due by a user differs that, with this access type, depends also on the time bracket (Time bracket Associated to the Credit). With this mode, the value of the credit unit is determined by the settings in the rate window: time bracket associated to the credit. With the "time prepaid mode", RBM84 multiplies the number of the units of credit set in "Personnel Access", for each interval of time associated with the credit, or fraction thereof.
