Soliroc, which translates to rock solid, is the new extra heavy duty range of wiring devices from Legrand designed specifically to be a more attractive solution for exposed or unsupervised premises. Suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications, the metal alloy finish applied to the plates guarantees strong resistance to scratches, graffiti and lighter flames and the rounded shape prevents a firm grasp. All Soliroc plates are supplied with tamper proof caps that are only removable by drilling. All covered modules can withstand impacts of 20 joules and all units are IP55 weatherproof. 2 Every little bit counts! Visibility drives savings An aware user is one that saves. Studies have shown that displaying energy consumption results in users changing their routines or correcting faults which lead to energy-savings of 10-15%. With Legrand SCS control systems it s easy to see how much gas and electricity a residence is consuming. With a few simple components, property owners can view energy usage data in a user-friendly format on a colour touchscreen. They can also see the energy and hot water output they are receiving from their solar panels. Consumption display The energy data collection devices can be integrated directly on the BUS of the Automation/ temperature control system, or be part of a dedicated system, as shown in the diagram below. In this case a power supply will be necessary to power the BUS, and touchscreen, to display consumption levels. Load management control The Legrand system manages maximum power used by automatically disconnecting appliances in a prioritised order when a predetermined electrical consumption level is reached. 4 Consumption display Measurment and display devices Pulse counter interface This device detects, counts, and processes the information received from meters with pulse outputs; the data is then made available to the SCS BUS, and displayed on the touchscreens. The processing and accounting functions are: Instantaneous consumption (calculated as the average of 2 pulses received during the time unit); Hourly, daily and monthly consumption (one year memory). 5 Load control management Devices for load control management Central unit for load management This device is capable of measuring the input power from the electrical system and to control the status of the actuators of the load management system, to prevent the risk of tripping of the power meter.
