The device comes standard with duplexing and network connectivity via 1/1BaseTX Ethernet and USB 2.. It includes an 866-MHz processor and 256 MB of RAM which is upgradeable to a maximum of 512 MB, and a 4-GB hard disk drive. Print resolution can be enhanced to a maximum of 9,6 x 6 dpi. Standard paper capacity is 1,2 sheets, upgradeable to a maximum of 3,2 sheets from up to five paper sources, plus a 1-sheet bypass tray. The device handles media weights up to 216 gsm through its standard paper drawers. The 1- sheet bypass tray handles weights up to 256 gsm. While both devices have a comparable standard paper capacity (1,15 sheets plus a 15-sheet bypass tray on the versus 1,2 sheets plus a 1-sheet bypass tray on the Aficio C811DN), the paper capacity on the can be upgraded to a maximum of 3,65 sheets, while in contrast the Aficio C811DN cannot be upgraded to handle more than 3,2 sheets total. Although users of the Aficio C811DN can use the 1-sheet bypass tray to handle media weight up to 256 gsm, even that is more complicated than it seems, because the bypass sheet capacity is quoted based on a much lighter paper stock, so fewer than 1 sheets of heavy media will actually fit into the bypass. Consequently, users of the Aficio C811DN needing to print color covers, business cards, brochures or other materials on heavy card stock may find they are reloading media every few minutes, making the process very labor-intensive, versus the which can accommodate card stock from every drawer. n Bypass tray offers higher paper capacity. Fast print processors allow the device to process even complex jobs more efficiently, and the offers 1 GHz of processing power, while in contrast the processor on the Aficio C811DN runs slower at only 866 MHz. n Higher memory capacity. The ships standard with 1 GB of memory, while in contrast the Aficio C811DN offers only one-quarter of that memory standard (256 MB), upgradeable to only 512 MB half the RAM available to users of the.
