The purpose of this document is to ensure that you understand what the Color C75 Press capabilities are, with regards to performance, and to explain the recommended operating guidelines of the Color C75 Press. With this information, you will be able to ensure the Color C75 Press is the right product for your business. In this document you may see the product referred to as Color C75 Press. If you have any further questions, please contact your sales representative and they will be happy to help. This document is based on knowledge available at the time of publication and is for you to keep for future reference. It is an evergreen document. It will be updated as the program proceeds. Product Overview The basic launch configuration of a Color C75 Press will consist of a print engine that provides full 4-Colour/mono printing at 76 A4 pages per minute, with an integrated Fiery Colour server and a choice of finishing, from an Offset Catch Tray (OCT), C Finisher (either with or without booklet), High Capacity Stacker (HCS), Light Production Finisher (either with or without booklet) or GBC AdvancePunch. There will be no copier-only offering of the Color C75 Press. Monthly Print Volume Range This product is designed for operation based on the following recommended monthly impressions: Color C75 Press Minimum AMPV 20,000 Maximum AMPV 100,000 Duty Cycle 540,000 Machine Life 6,000,000 Rated Print Speed 76 AMPV (Average Monthly Print Volume) Range- Working outside this range may affect machine performance. If the device consistently operates at a higher AMPV than the maximum stated, the customer should consider the purchase of multiple devices or a device with a higher average monthly print volume. Duty Cycle- If the device is occasionally used outside of the AMPV range, printing should not exceed the duty cycle limit. Duty cycle represents the rated print volume capacity of the device for a given month (printed on recommended stock and assuming 8hrs per day, 20 days per month usage). Machine Life- The manufacturer s Print Volume limit for reliable performance of the device for the machine s life. Rated Print Speed- Impressions printed per minute on A4 LEF stock, 100gsm. 5 Space Requirements (Minimum Service Clearance) These specifications are based on Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) standards and allow for the safe and effective operation and servicing of the device, including space for: Moveable components, such as draws and doors A technician to safely access the device These space requirements (site width & site depth) are the minimum requirement and compliance with these standards is mandatory for the safety of staff members. 8 Ongoing Actions Installation Actions *Where a device is installed adjacent to an access way, additional space over and above that specified in this document may be required. Space required for access ways is dependent on circumstance, and it is recommended that the local statutory body be contacted for advice.. Product Specifications Centerline Paper The Color C75 Press is designed using Xerox media described below as a Centerline Paper. Centerline Paper is recommended to ensure generating the best image quality from the Color C75 Press. It delivers optimum performance in each category of product specification. Other paper brands or weights may alter the print engine s capability. Every effort has been made to ensure that the Color C75 Press supports a broad range of media. Please keep in mind, however, that using only Fuji Xerox-recommended media maximises reliability and paper-handling performance. All references to media capacity and performance in this document are based on centerline paper. You will see the term Centerline paper several times in this document. Centerline stock refers to 100gsm Xerox Colotech+. Parameter Setting Corresponding Each Media In order to maintain optimum throughput and image quality, the Color C75 Press offers parameter setting, which customers can control. There are several parameters for adjustment, such as, alignment, perpendicularity, skew, scale, print position and so on, corresponding to characteristics of each media. Adjusted values can be saved as a profile for recurring jobs. The maximum length images (480 mm) are only produced on media 488mm long. On all media there is a Lead Edge deletion of 4mm and a Trail Edge deletion of 4mm. Side edge deletion is 3mm except for 330mm x 488mm media. On 330mm x 488mm media the side deletion is 3.5mm. Color to Color mis-registration may vary outside of the specification when using heavyweight papers above 100gsm. 13 Gloss Mode Overview and Print Speed Expectations The Color C75 Press includes a feature known as Gloss Mode. Gloss Mode is a customer selectable feature accessible via a button in the System Administrator Tools or at the color print server. Use of this feature enables a richer, more glossy output that may be desirable for specific jobs. It is specifically designed for use on coated media; it can be used on uncoated media with varying results. The Color C75 Press is delivered with Gloss Mottle Mode OFF (disabled) by default. It can be turned ON (enabled) via the color server or the System Administrator mode. The media weight must be greater than 176 gsm The table below summarizes the impact of Gloss Mode on print speed. This situation may occur for high toner usage (area coverage) on specific sheet sizes. If this occurs, service can enable Toner Out Mode via a NVM switch to ensure the press will pause to be able to clean the excess toner from the xerographic components. This will lower the actual print speed but reduce the severity of image quality artifacts. The tables below show the expected loss of productivity for each situation. Using only Fuji Xerox-recommended media maximizes reliability and paper-handling performance. Furthermore, use of the Centerline papers are recommended to ensure you receive the best image quality from your Color C75 Press. Typically, heavy weight papers exhibit increased variability of formation and surface smoothness, which may result in degraded image quality. Paper from all trays is printed topside first. It is recommended that Fuji Xerox branded paper be loaded with ream wrapper seam-side up. Manufacturers of coated stock do not recommend use of their media when the ambient relative humidity exceeds 60%. Relative humidity greater than 40% may increase the misfeed rate from Trays 1, 2, 3 and 5. All paper stretches to a certain extent during printing. The amount of stretch is dependent on paper type and environmental conditions. Stretch is most noticeable on coated stocks. This stretch can affect front-to-back image registration. Use the Alignment Profiles feature described in the System Administration Guide to minimize this effect. Image registration, image quality (i.e. white spots), and machine reliability can be adversely affected when customcut paper is inaccurately cut, is of poor quality, or loose paper fibers are present on the cut edges. Image registration, image quality (i.e. white spots), jam frequency and machine reliability can be adversely affected when punched or drilled paper is of poor quality and/or loose hole plugs are present in the ream. For further information and recommendations regarding media testing, selection, and handling, refer to the Material Usage Guide provided with your system and the Recommended Materials List (RML) available from your Fuji Xerox representative. Transparencies For optimum system performance and image projection, use Fuji Xerox recommended transparency materials. Use of other transparencies may cause machine damage and result in excessive service calls. Due to the increased thickness of the removable stripe, no more than 100 transparencies should be loaded in a paper tray at one time. The maximum output stack height should not exceed 100 transparencies. Non-Standard paper sizes The Color C75 Press supports non-standard paper sizes. However, due to rounding and measurement unit conversions that occur in the client applications, print server, and press, some mismatch may occur between the paper size entered at the application, and the paper size that must be entered at the printer. The operator may need to adjust the entered paper dimensions by up to 2.5 mm in order for the printer to detect that the requested paper size has been loaded. In addition, the press may interpret some paper sizes included in the PPD as non-standard sizes. Document Handler The Duplexing Automatic Document Feeder (DADF) for hardcopy scanning will handle originals from A5 to A3 in size, and from 38 to 200 gsm in weight. 16 duplex printing can be performed on all recommended sizes of media up to 300 gsm coated or uncoated stock from Tray 5 (Bypass), and Trays 6 & 7. Automatic duplex printing can be performed on recommended media up to SRA3 320mm x 450mm / Maximum 320mm x 482mm from Tray 5 (Bypass), and Trays 6 & 7. Manual duplex can also be performed on recommended media up to SRA3 320mm x 450mm / Maximum 320mm x 482mm from Tray 5 (Bypass). The feeding speed is 80ipm Monochrome and 50ipm in Colour As with any printer or copier, duplex performance may not match the performance for single-sided printing or copying. Paper jam rates may be higher than the rate you will experience for the same throughput material in single sided mode. In order to reduce paper jam frequency when duplex printing on stocks heavier than 220 gsm, paper grain should be perpendicular to the print process direction (i.e. Short Grain). Integrated Scanner The integrated scanner performs Color or B/W scanning at 200 x 200, 300 x 300, 400 x 400, 600 x 600 dpi resolutions. 21 HCS Limitations The HCS is subject to stack weight limitations, and settings have been implemented to prevent damage to the unit caused by an excessively heavy stack. Please see the chart above for approximate stack sizes for sheets larger than A4. Stack quality may degrade and jams may increase with gsm coated paper stocks Mixed stock sizes can be sent to the HCS. However, the HCS generally should be unloaded between jobs that utilize different stock sizes to prevent stack quality problems such as paper misalignment or stack integrity. Optional Interface Module (IFM) The Interface Module aligns the paper paths of the engine and finisher, cools and decurls paper exiting the printer, and allows communication between the engine and finisher. One Interface Module must be ordered when an optional Finisher D4 or High Capacity Stacker is ordered. Light Production Finisher (Finisher D4 or Light Production C Finisher) Shown with Optional Booklet Maker This section provides the details and expectations for the optional Finisher D4 that will be installed with your Color C75 Press. The Finisher D4 is an output device that can process the following: 100-sheet stapling, 3,000 sheets stacking, punch, saddle stapling/center-fold, optional Z-fold/three-fold, and cover paper insertion. The Finisher D4 has a built-in decurler unit that corrects the curl on paper outputted from print engine, a built-in stapler with staple-pin cut function, and a built-in interposer that feeds cover paper to finisher for saddle-staple operation. It can be added to the Finisher D4 with Booklet Maker. Configuration This equipment is located after the Finisher D4 with Booklet Maker and the operation is as follows: Receives the booklet from the Finisher D4 with Booklet Maker. Transports the received booklet to the square fold unit to flatten the spine of the booklet and then to the trimmer unit to trim the face of the booklet Deposits the finished booklet into the booklet tray. Features The SquareFold Trimmer accepts the full range of stock sizes and weights output by the Finisher D4 with Booklet Maker, including custom sizes from A4 to SRA3 Output can be Square-Folded and face trimmed, Square-Folded only, or bypass through both Square-Fold and trim modules to stack in the exit tray. 26 GBC AdvancedPunch The GBC AdvancedPunch is an inline die punch that utilises modular die sets to enable a variety of hole-punch patterns in A4 long-edge fed media. Output from the GBC AdvancedPunch is bound offline. The GBC AdvancedPunch requires an Interface Module (IFM) as well as a HCS or Finisher D4 with or without Booklet Finisher. Customers wishing to add the GBC AdvancedPunch to their existing system can do so - upgrade kits will be required. The GBC AdvancedPunch is not available for use on C Finisher, or with the Offset Catch Tray. The GBC AdvancedPunch is supported by all colour servers. The GBC AdvancedPunch supports media from 75 to 216 gsm, coated and uncoated.
