For details refer to the wiring diagrams. LMRH-102 Design Solution Description SPACE: Classroom (28-ft x 30-ft), Ceiling height 10 ft, one entrance into room, windows on wall opposite door, work plane height (desktop approx. 30 ). LIGHTING: Indirect/direct continuous fixtures. Separate lighting circuit on teaching wall. fixture next to the door. TASKS: Reading, writing, arithmetic, lecture and discussion, whiteboard oriented teaching and learning, note taking and taking tests. CONTROLS: General Lighting: On/off switching for lighting. Daylight switching of fixtures adjacent to windows. On/off switching for whiteboard lighting. Manual on/off control for all lighting loads for teacher. Automatic-off control of all lighting based on occupancy. Coordinated control of ordinary and emergency lighting. CONTROLS SET-UP: Digital Lighting Management control system for automatic configuration, simplified installation and setup and reduced installation costs.
2 Default Sequence of Operation - Plug n Go Room Summary - Automatic-on: Load A Manual-On: Loads B, C & D On/Off Daylight: Load A Automatic-off: all loads The system automatically configures upon power up to out-of-box functionality based upon the devices connected on the local room network. This is referred to as Plug n Go functionality. By default, Load (A) is turned on automatically by the, and is also controlled by the photosensor and the top button of the LMSW-102. Loads (B), (C) and (D) are assigned to the bottom button on the LMSW-102. These latter three loads operate as manual-on (refer to Loads and Zones diagram under the Diagrams tab). All loads automatically turn off after the space is vacated and the sensor time delay elapses. By default, Plug n Go operation of the LMSW-103 located on the teaching wall provides on/off control for all loads. Load (A) is controlled by the top button on the LMSW-103, load (B) is controlled by the middle button and Loads (C) and (D) are controlled by the bottom button. The monitors the ambient light level in the controlled space and works with the room controller to switch load (A) on and off as needed. The LMRL-100 provides seamless integration of third party devices such as HVAC systems or exhaust fans via contact closure. The guarantees that the emergency lighting is on whenever normal power is interrupted. When normal power is present, the allows control of the emergency lighting by the. Options for Customizing Sequence of Operation (Push n Learn) Room Summary - Manual-on: all loads On/Off Daylight: Load A Automatic-off: all loads To enhance or customize system operation for space- or project-specific needs, adjust sequence of operation using Push n Learn, either via the LMCT-100 (Digital Wireless Configuration Tool), device buttons (switches), or LCD screen (occupancy sensor). For specific information about re-assigning loads to switch buttons, please refer to the Push n Learn video. For more detailed information on Push n Learn, refer to the DLM System Installation Guide. Since Plug n Go configuration assigns load (A) (window row of fixtures) as the daylit zone as well as the auto-on load, achieving optimal energy performance requires re-assigning loads and adjusting sequence of operation as follows: - Each lighting load to operate in manual-on mode; all loads automatically turn off after the occupancy sensor time delay elapses. - Assign Loads (A) and (C) to the top button of the LMSW-102. Assign Load (B) to the bottom button on the LMSW Load (D) will only be assigned to switches located on the teaching wall. - Assign Loads (A) and (C) to the top button of the LMSW-103 by the teaching wall. Assign Load (B) to the middle button. Assign Load (D) to the bottom button. - Load (A) remains controlled by the photosensor. It is recommended to adjust the photo sensor so that Load (A) will switch off when daylight levels are sufficient and when the classroom is expected to be vacant (such as lunchtime) and to turn load (A) back on when only the teacher is in the classroom (such as after classes have ended for the day) to minimize occupant distraction. - Note that once Push n Learn is activated to change Plug n Go settings on a device, all settings on that device must be re-established.
3 Design Considerations Coordinate switch button engraving to enhance occupant experience and accuracy for turning on desired lights with appropriate switch/buttons. An optional LMRH-102 digital remote will afford the teacher maximum convenience in turning lighting on and off when away from the teaching wall switch position. Optional plug load control can be implemented for additional energy savings by connecting an LMPL-101 Plug Load Controller to the local room network. The recommended position for controlled receptacles would be in the rear of the classroom for loads such as computer monitors, projectors, printers, etc. Digital dual technology occupancy sensor automatically turns lighting off when the room is vacant and after the time delay elapses. The default setting is 20 minutes, with a maximum time delay of 30 minutes. The LMRL-100 provides seamless integration of third party devices such as HVAC systems or exhaust fans via contact closure. Digital Wireless Configuration Tool highly recommended to provide facility manager/building operator convenient means for future system adjustments.
