4 MODBUS I/O extension modules INTRODUCTION The I/O extension module is a high-quality and low-cost add-on data acquisition device that allows expanding the on-board analog and digital I/O capabilities on VikMote VX20, VikMote VX40 and VikMote VX90 units using RS-485 MODBUS communication protocol. The RS-485 MODBUS communication protocol is the industry's most widely used bi-directional, balanced transmission line standard. It lets the module transmit and receive data at high data rates over long distances. The I/O extension module can be used to expand the VikMote unit with additional digital/analog inputs and outputs. Each VikMote unit can get up to 16 I/O extension modules connected hence you can get up to 72 digital inputs / 60 digital outputs and 36 analog inputs / 20 analog outputs from one VikMote unit. The I/O extension module works in a variety of environments and any applications from Vikingegaarden, including: Factory automation and control SCADA applications VAC applications Remote measuring, monitoring and control Security and alarm systems, etc. PROGRAMMING AND CONFIGURATION For information on programming and configuration of the I/O extension modules, please refer to the VikMote ProSoft 3.0 documentation. 6 EX9017-M 8-CHANNEL, 16 BIT MODBUS ANALOG IN MODULE The EX9017-M Analog In 16bit module can easily be integrated to a RS485 network. The module has 8 analog inputs. It may be used to measure analogue voltages in the measuring ranges ±150mV, ±500mV, ±1V, ±5V and ±10V or currents in the range of ±20mA. The module has 10 Hz sampling rate and can be used in a wide temperature range. 7 EX9024-M 4 CHANNEL, 14 BIT MODBUS ANALOG OUTPUT MODULE The EX9024-M Analog Out 14bit module can easily be integrated to a RS485-network. The Analog Out RS485 module has 4 analog outputs which emit voltages in the ranges ±5VDC, ±10VDC, 0V - 5VDC and 0V - 10VDC or currents from 0-20mA and 4-20mA. The Analog Out RS485 module may be used in a wide temperature range. 8 EX9041D-M 14-CHANNEL ISOLATED MODBUS DIGITAL INPUT MODULE WITH LED The EX9041D-M has isolated inputs on 14 channels. The module has a LEDdisplay for each channel and was developed for use in a wide temperature range.
