2 Data Acquisition Package The increased use and availabillity in the schools made it natural to adopt our Electrical Machine System to this environment. Terco has developed equipment and software for measuring and acquisition of important parameters. Data Acquisition Package The Terco Data Acquisition Package is a combination of measuring units, a Data Interface Module and data acquisition software, enabling the user to observe, record and investigate relevant electrical data, typically in an electrical machine laboratory environment. Measuring units Electrical and mechanical information about the monitored system are obtained by connecting one or more of the following products: MV1939 Power Network Analyser for AC parameters MV1941 DC Measuring Unit MV1054 Torque Measuring Unit (alt. SM1054) Each of these units are equipped with communications capability using industry standard Modbus protocol. MV1942 Data Interface Module Information from each unit is transferred in real time to a connected PC via the MV1942 Data Interface Module. MV2609 Software On screen, the data is presented on an attractive user interface incorporating a customizable data table and user-defined graphical representations. Once data acquisition is complete, the data table can then be exported to Excel for further investigation and manipulation. The acquirement of data is controlled via the user interface. Pre-configured experiment setups are included with the software but the user can also build custom experiments by defining hardware setups, data table setups and graph setups. 3 MV1054/SM1054 Digital Torque, Speed and Shaft Power Meter MV1054/SM1054 is a modern torque meter based on the latest sensor technology. It combines an optical torque sensor, a display unit for torque, rotational speed and shaft power, together with an integrated data acquisition interface. The sensor unit consists of an optically based contactless sensor, which returns high resolution information about the torque, together with the rotational speed. The display unit houses three highly capable digital instruments for torque, rotational speed and shaft power together with an integrated data acquisition interface. The shaft power is based on calculations from a micro controller. The torque measurement is performed/presented within the range Nm to Nm with outmost high accuracy (including stand still torque). The display unit is furthermore equipped with a standardized industrial data acquisition protocol (Modbus) and is compatible with the MV2609 Terco DAQ software (MV1942 Data Interface Module is necessary) The MV2609 Terco DAQ software utilizes a real time graphical presentation program incorporating data manipulation and export to Excel capabilities. 4 MV1941 DC Measuring Unit The Terco MV1941 DC Measuring Unit is a practical solution for the study of DC circuits up to 350VDC/12ADC. Microprocessor-based display instruments provide the user with an instant overview of DC voltage and current levels on two separate channels simultaneously. The simplified connection process means your laboratory experiments can be set up and taken down in just minutes, leaving more time to investigate and understand the characteristics and ambiguities of the circuits being investigated. Robust components provide a good level of protection against incorrect connection, mishandling and carelessness. The DC Measuring Unit is furthermore equipped with a standardized industrial data acquisition protocol (Modbus) and is compatible with the MV2609 Terco DAQ software (MV1942 Computer Interface is necessary). 5 MV1939 AC Power Energy Meter The Terco MV1939 AC Power Energy Meter is a practical solution for the study of 3-Phase AC power systems up to 500VAC/10A. A microprocessor-based energy meter provides the user with an instant overview of the relevant three or four-wire, 3-Phase network parameters in balanced or unbalanced networks. The simplified connection process means your laboratory experiments can be set up and taken down in just minutes, leaving more time to investigate and understand the characteristics and ambiguities of 3-Phase power networks. The Terco MV1939 Power Energy Meter enables the measurement and visualization of a wide range of parameters in the study of symmetrical as well as non-symmetrical networks, such as: phase voltages, phase-to-phase voltages, line currents, mean three-phase current, mean threephase voltage, mean phase-to-phase voltage, three-phase active, reactive and apparent powers, mean three-phase power factors. The visualization of parameters is distributed over several pages (default preset to display five pages) where each page simultaneously displays four parameters. 6 MV1942 Data Interface Module The MV1942 Data Interface Module is an adapter for adding a RS485 or RS422 port to the PC using a standard USB port. This allows communication between Terco measuring units and a PC, forming the Terco Data Acquisition System. When connected to a PC USB port, the Data Interface Module is automatically detected and installed as a native COM port The Data Interface Module can be configured for four-wire (full duplex) or two-wire (half duplex) networks VDC isolation between the USB port and RS485/ RS422 protects the PC from spikes and other possible transient voltages on the communication bus.
