2 Introduction The easygen-3000 Series are control units for power generation applications. The numerous inputs and outputs, along with a modular software structure, permit you to use the easygen-3000 Series for a wide range of applications. This includes among others: stand-by, AMF, peak shaving, import-export, cogeneration or distributed generation. Also the easygen-3000 Series is compatible for isolated, island parallel, mains parallel and multiple unit mains parallel operations. 4 easygen-3000 features FlexRange TM The unit offers a wide range of PT sensing (120V / 480V) for generator, busbar and mains voltage measurement. Additional, the easygen supports different voltage measurement types 3Ph4W 3Ph3W 1Ph2W (phase-phase or phase-neutral) 1Ph3W 3Ph4W open delta. FlexApp TM This feature provides the possibility to easily configure the number of operated breakers in the application. None (no breaker control) GCB GCB and MCB, GGB (Generator Group Breaker) Additional modes in combination with the Woodward LS-5 device extension. Dynamics LCD TM The adaptive and interactive 5.7", 320x240 pixel color graphical LC display with soft keys and a clear menu structure ensures intuitive user operation and navigation What is New? 5 Analog inputs All analog inputs provide a flexible scaling and it s possible to use preconfigured curves or individual, user defined scaling. 6 LogicsManager TM Woodward's LogicsManager enables changes to the operation sequences and adaption to specific needs. The LogicsManager accomplishes this by monitoring a range of measuring values and internal states, which are combined logically with Boolean operators and programmable timers. 7 Controller The device can adjust the speed from the drive, reference to the speed control (frequency/power control) and the generator excitation, reference to the AVR (voltage/power factor/reactive power control) with analog values (analog control, values selectable between +/-10V/ +/-20mA) or raise/lower commands (three position controller) Each controller setpoint can be given by parameter, analog reference (analog inputs), digital potentiometer (discrete inputs) or interface. The actual used setpoint is visible in the setpoint screen. Synchronization For the synchronization from the generator breaker (GCB) and mains breaker (MCB) there is the possibility to adjusted vector groups in order to synchronize across a step up transformer What is New? 8 Alarm classes The alarm classes from the different monitoring types (Generator, Mains monitoring ) can be adjusted related to the application. Alarm list and Event recorder The alarm list displays the actual and not acknowledged entries with time stamp. In the event history with up to 300 entries the alarm and status events will be saved with time stamp and an additional coming (+) and going (-) indication. Multi level password system The parameter access in the easygen-3000 is password protected. Different password levels are available and can be adjusted by the customer What is New? 10 easygen-3000 Control via ToolKit Toolkit The Toolkit software is the configuration tool for the easygen series. This software provides online visualization, parameterization and trending features. The connection between the device and the software tool is possible with Serial (Standard null modem cable, RS232 without additional adapters) CANopen (IXXAT or KVASER converter is necessary) Visualization Trending What is New? 11 easygen-3000 Hardware Housing Two different housings are available for the easygen series. Plastic housing with display (cabinet mounting with clamps or screws) Metal housing without display (DIN rail mounting) Additional there is the possibility to add a remote display (RP-3000) for both housing types. Power supply range The easygen has a wider power supply range and survives significant voltage fluctuations from the power supply for a certain period of time. 12 easygen-3000 Connectivity Communication The easygen-3000 has different interfaces for communication, parameterization and expansion boards available. 13 Please be aware about the following differences in comparison to the existing product lines: DC range of digital inputs The easygen-3000 voltage range for the discrete input DI is max 40VDC. instead of 18 to 250 VAC/DC (MFR 2 devices) Form factor from the digital outputs Not all relay outputs from the easygen are galvanic isolated. Some outputs use the same common terminal Connection from the communication interfaces The easygen has SUB-D connectors for the communication interfaces instead of terminal blocks. ModBus visualization In the easygen the start address from the visualization is , the lower address range is used for the remote control and parameters What is New? 14 CAN Bus communication type For the CAN BUS communication the easygen uses the CANOpen protocol instead of the CAN CAL protocol. With that it s not possible to use the GW4 for the easygen CAN Bus load sharing The communication between the existing product s and easygen (load sharing) requires the use from the Load share gateway (LSG) Profibus DP slave communication For the Profibus connection between the easygen and PLC an additional device is necessary in order to convert the CAN Open or Modbus data to Profibus. Woodward offers such a gateway. Asynchronous applications A remanence voltage to MPU pulse converter is provided for sensing the RPM through remanence voltage of an asynchronous generator.
