3 Communication in all directions By connecting a GSM modem, it is now possible to send SMS messages from the PHARAO-II controller. And it s just as easy to communicate by or fax. Error messages, information about temperature or the switching state can now also be received remotely. I/O expansion modules The PHARAO-II can be expanded by 4 inputs or 4 relay outputs in the distributor without taking up additional space. New display The new backlit 12-character, 4-line display provides great legibility of the values, texts and switching states even in the darkest locations. Increased memory capacity In the new PHARAO-II series we have also increased the memory from 1,5000 bytes to 5,000 bytes. Now you can create programs with up to 200 function modules. New functions New math functions allow you to calculate values, determine differences, add, multiply or divide values. Now you can specify any desired hysteresis values or determine for example pressure and brightness differences. Analog range The analog range from 0 10 V DC has been expanded from 8 to 9 bits (0 500). This makes it easier to display values such as temperature, pressure or humidity on the display or process this data in the various function modules. Pulse width modulation We have added a PWM function to expand and improve the PHARAO-II units in regulating and control applications. 3

4 PHARAO-II Expansion Modules With the new PHARAO-II series it is now possible to increase the number of channels by simply plugging in an input or output expansion module. 5 PHARAO-II drag and drop software The PHARAO software 2.0 is a very simple to use because the graphical programming software requires no special knowledge on the part of the user. It allows practical and rapid programming through Windows 95/98/NT/2000/ME/XP. In short, you need a visualization of the control system you have created. No problem with the PHARAO software. The system sketch window provides you with a variety of drawing tools. This allows you to represent images and the input- and output commands graphically onor off line. In addition, you can import data from any program that supports the Windows OLE function, such as Word, Excel, image files, etc., into various formats. 10 PHARAO Accessories LUNA 131 DDC LUNA 131 DDC Combisensor with analog output 0-10 V The LUNA 131 DDC Combisensor can be used for brightness and temperature measurement. Both outputs provide an analog output signal of 0-10V. The sensor can be connected for example directly to the analog inputs of the PHARAO units (24V DC). The signal converter, range comparison and Schmitt trigger function modules allow programming of controllers and regulators. For remote operation and monitoring this cable is used to connect an analog modem. PHARAO-II GSM Interface cable PHARAO-II GSM Interface Cable The GSM interface cable allows establishing a connection and forwarding SMS data to mobile telephones, addresses or fax machines. The port for connecting the GSM cable is located below the plug-in expansion modules. PHARAO-EEPROM PHARAO-II-EEPROM Plug-in EEPROM Memory Module External memory module for sending and reading the program from or to the internal EEPROM system memory. A second program can be run by simply plugging in the memory module. The internal program is deactivated as long as the external memory module is plugged in (dual programming).
