2 INTRODUCTION Six different models make up the LED and Comtec Fire Rated range. With a LED options including Chip On Board and 8w dimmable GU10 LED lamp versions as well as halogen lamp options in 35w and 50w there are solutions for both performance and energy efficiency. Body formats include: fixed bezel, gimbal, drop glass and IP65 rated, all of which are available in one of two finishes either white or brushed chrome. 3 SPECIFICATION Construction Steel housing. Die-cast front bezel. GU10 LED version has an internal cage designed to prevent halogen retrofit in compliance with L2 building regulations. Chip On Board LED version is both fire rated and IP65 rated to ensure suitability in a wide range of applications. Performance LED option includes an 8w dimmable with 35 beam angle. Lamp options include either a low voltage 50w (IP65 supplied with 35w) GU or mains operated GU ,000 hour lamp life (LED only). Complies with all required building regulations Part B, E, C and P. Installation A hinged back terminal block for simplified installation. Spring clips fix to the back of the ceiling. Suitable for plasterboard, mineral fibre and metal tile installation. 5 TECHNICAL COMTEC FR PTECF 10 COB WARRANTY All Dextra products are supplied with a 12 month warranty for any defect that may occur with the product during this time. Any defect will either be repaired on site free of charge or the defective product may be replaced on a chargeable basis and credit given against defective product returned. The course of action taken will be at our discretion and dependent on the nature of the defect. The control gear within our high frequency and LED luminaires is further underwritten by our suppliers for a period of up to 5 years in total from the time of purchase. 6 components only for the final 2 years. PROTEC LED FR 8W GU10 luminaires and all Emergency LED ranges such as LED 3, EXI, HBE, OAT, OEZ, AME, OEH and TWS * are exempt from the 5 year warranty and are supplied with 1 year warranty only. PROTEC LED COB luminaires are supplied with a two year warranty for replacement luminaires only. All warranties are subject to correct use of the product and will be invalidated by misuse, for example incorrect installation or unsuitable environmental conditions. It is the duty of the customer to ensure that all relevant tests have been carried out prior to requesting site visits or replacement products, for example replacement of lamps, commissioning of sensors and inspection of external wiring. In the event that no defect is found with the product our costs for attending site will be recharged to the customer and credit will not be issued against returned products. No consequential losses incurred resulting from any defect with our product will be reimbursed. Consumable commodities such as lamps, starters and batteries are excluded from these warranty terms. Batteries are supplied with a twelve month warranty only. 5 year warranty on LED product ranges is subject to a maximum of 4000 operating hours per year and only applies where failures exceed the component manufacturers expected failure rate and lumen depreciation. 10 Generic Infill Ring Installation Guide V / 50-60Hz 1 WARNING - THIS LUMINAIRE MUST BE EARTHED This luminaire has been tested and is manufactured to comply with BS EN : specification for general requirements and tests. It should be installed by a suitably qualified person in accordance with IEE. CAUTION: there is a potential risk of electric shock from the LED boards when the product is operational with the cover removed. NOTE: INSTALLATION AND OPERATION OF THE LUMINAIRE BEYOND ITS SCOPE OF SUPPLY WILL INVALIDATE THE WARRANTY. 2 Attach the circular infill ring to the downlight. 3 Insert the oval infill ring through the aperture in the ceiling and let it rest on the ceiling. The oval infill ring should be narrow enough to fit through your ceiling aperture. 4 Install the downlight into the oval infill ring as if you were installing directly into the ceiling. Refer to the Product specific installation leaflet. 5 6 The downlight will need to be centralised in the ceiling aperture to ensure no gaps are visible. DIL /02/18
