2 ROTARY TABLE FAST EXCHANGE SYSTEM Bild 1: Base plate including component and fixture in a GOM ScanBox 6130 Rotary table fast exchange system DSW 02 The rotary table fast exchange system (DSW) was designed in order to use in GOM ScanBoxes as well as in individual topometric project measuring cells. It allows measuring fixtures or components associated with a quick and ergonomical replacement. The DSW system consists of a turntable holder module, the base plate for holding the measuring and holding device, and one or more set-up trucks and plates. At the same time, these set-up trucks can also be served as storage systems. The turntable holder module is adapted directly to the turntable of the robotic measuring cell. The measuring and holding devices of the components are fixed on the base plates. By moving the set-up truck up to the turntable holder and securely locking it, the base plate can be pushed onto the turntable holder module and and will be mechanically secured. The base plate is lifted out of the guide and

This way, a component can be measured on the robotic measuring cell, while the next component is being prepared on a second base plate outside the cell. The DSW system enables fast replacement of components or devices and thus leads to lower downtimes than those that would otherwise result from set-up in the measuring cell. The throughput of measured parts is maximised by a rapid change of the components or devices within the system. Bild 2: Set-up truck Ergonomics and safety The mechanism for unlocking the base plate on the set-up truck can be operated from either side. Extremely smooth-running roller conveyors, both on the set-up truck and on the turntable holder, enable one-person operation and thus problem-free and easy transport. The wheels of the set-up truck can be set to be either rigid or movable in order to allow exact positioning or storage in a very confined space. The well-designed mechanism, which makes incorrect operation impossible, prevents the object from slipping on the set-up truck during transport or during measurement. The base plate can only be moved when the set-up truck is docked onto the turntable holder. The frame of the set-up truck is painted in a signal colour for moving components. 4 The double-sided use of the perforated hole matrix plate significantly reduces the downtime of the robotic cell due to the shorter settopometric GmbH ROTARY LIFTING UNIT Rotary lifting unit DHE 40/ The automated rotary lifting unit (DHE) significantly improves the ergonomics and accessibility of optical measurements in robotic cells. It is suitable wherever components have to be measured in a vertically clamped or installation position. In the automotive sector, this is the case in press- and body shops, as well as in aircraft construction with its particularly large components. The DHE can be rotated by 270 as an active robot axis. This way, clamped components can optimally face the robot or sensor. The space needed by a robotic cell is significantly reduced by its ability to rotate. By turning it through 180, it is possible to set up the side facing away from the robot.

5 ROTARY LIFTING UNIT up time. By an automatically controlled lifting movement, the component in the lower set-up position can be ergonomically clamped onto the perforated hole matrix plate. After being lifted, the plate is brought into the ideal measuring position. This is a decisive advantage, especially when measuring component areas that are only visible from below. The flexible design allows the use of existing hole matrix plates from different manufacturers. The rotary lifting unit is designed for the use of hole matrix plates with a clamping surface of 4,000 mm (easy fitting dimension = 3,950mm), a minimum height of 1,600 mm and a maximum height of 2,000mm. When using a DHE rotary lifting unit in a robotic cell, the cell width can be reduced by up to 2,000 mm. 6 LASER-BASED ASSEMBLY AID Fig 1: Laser-based assembly aid in use Laser-based assembly aid LBM 06 The laser-based assembly aid serves as a visual set-up aid and is designed in order to use in topometric project measuring cells. It enables a fast, comfortable and safe replacement of measuring fixtures and components. In order to correctly position component holders on the hole matrix plate, their contour is projected onto the intended locations using a specific laser. Costly set-up times and error influences are thus minimised. Due to the projection of the component fixtures and other measuring aids such as reference splitters, the worker needs no additional documents such as clamping plans or the like. This also ensures that even the staff without knowledge of measuring technology is able to set up a measuring system. The laser projector used can be programmed and controlled via the GOM Inspect software application using a topometric plug-in.

7 LASER-BASED ASSEMBLY AID Once you have created a one-off projection file, which requires only a few basic skills in GOM software, your staff will be assisted by the projection of the outlines of component fixtures during assembly in the future. automatic projection process at the same time. 8 LIFTING PIVOT UNIT Lifting pivot unit HSE The lifting pivot unit is designed in order to use in GOM ScanBoxes and customised topometric project measuring cells. This allows measuring fixtures or components to be quickly and ergonomically replaced. The portable system can thus be transported with an industrial truck and then placed on the turntable. The ease of integration guarantees that the HSE lifting pivot unit can be quickly installed. Besides this, short set-up times are ensured by a universal and easily replaceable quick-release frame. When measuring the front and rear of components, the lifting pivot unit has the advantage that this can be done without any re-clamping. The measuring position can be selected with the aid of two automated axes and can be safely positioned by servomotors.

9 LIFTING PIVOT UNIT Thanks to its separate control cabinet, the HSE can be integrated with the PLC without any major adjustments to the existing ScanBox or project measuring cell. Ergonomics Ergonomic set-up is possible thanks to the automatic height adjustment feature. In addition, measuring in the mounting position can be ensured by the pivot motors. Safety No additional safety precautions need to be taken following connection to a GOM ScanBox or to a topometric measuring cell. The measuring cells are designed for safe use with the HSE with light barriers or floor scanners and they are also supported by their control technology. 10 DEVICES Devices Clamping devices, testing devices and holding devices Reliable and stable measurements require process-reliable measuring and holding devices, splitter systems and measuring adapters. We offer tailor-made solutions to satisfy and fulfill your needs. Our team of measurement engineers and specialised CAD designers reduces the iterations to a minimum by virtual simulations in 3D. Clamping device The design of the clamping device is suitable for particularly unstable components, which need to be stretched or pressed to the desired position at the alignment points. These include individual sheets, elastic plastic parts or carbon fibre parts, for example. With the clamping device, the general rule is not to obtain an overestimation of a alignment by introducing more than 6 geometric clamping points. 10 Holding device Holding devices are used for stable or intrinsically rigid components, which have already achieved their final shape following joining processes. This type of device is only used for the replicating positioning of the components. The basic requirement is a weight of component that is higher than the inertia of the mass when moving on a turntable and/or higher than the probing force of a tactile coordinate measuring machine. Testing device / gauge Testing devices or gauges are employed in production in particular. The testing devices are used to quickly determine whether a component is OK or NOK following a manufacturing process. In most cases, these devices are used to check external contours or interference surfaces. Sliders, calibres or - for more complex measuring devices - dial gauges, as well as optical and electrical sensors are all used. These simulate the adjacent components that will later be present. Furthermore, these devices are used to safeguard geometric elements such as circular holes and bores.

11 MEASURING ADAPTERS / SPLITTERS Reference point carrier case RPT 500 The RPT 500 is designed in order to use as a splitter system in topometric measuring cells and in GOM ScanBoxes. It can also be used for manual measurements with a stand system. The splitter system permits the faster placement or positioning of coded marks and uncoded reference points. Advantages for users The reference point carriers can be used with all plates hole patterns of 100 mm x 100 mm (M8) and a 12F7 fit on GOM ScanBoxes and individual measuring cells. The production of freely planned splitters for other hole patterns is possible if requested by the customer. The set comes with scripts for the GOM Inspect software, so that the complete carriers can be displayed in their measuring program at the push of a button. The advantages of this complete solution are the rapid and, above all, simple one-person operation and the high level of mobility thanks to the case s trolley feature. Measuring adapters The calibrated measuring adapter solutions are used, for example, to precisely determine the positions of drilled holes with the aid of optical measuring technology. We offer individual adapter solutions tailored to your needs. This enables you to measure features such as drilled hole positions, outer edges, pipelines, threads, etc. with a high level of precision. 11 The measuring adapters are available in many versions with a variety of lengths and threads.
