1 High Level Lift Protocol Controller Model TS0868 High Level Lift Protocol Controller : Model TS0868 INSTALLATION GUIDE A high level lift protocol interface for the TS0869 Intelligent Four Lift Controller enabling it to communicate with third party lift controllers. Supporting the most common lift protocols such as Otis, the TS0868 works in conjunction with Tecom s TS0890 Integration Unit and the TS0869 to create seamless lift integration. Links: CASE: This link connects the earth of the supply to the chassis. The link is not normally installed. Links: GND: This Link connects the negative of the supply to the earth lug. The link is not normally installed. J4 Power: AC power pack and battery connections. Board Configuration Switches: Settings affect board operation. J2: Serial port. 4 Revised! see Protective Earthing Addendum High Level Lift Protocol Controller : Model TS0868 LAN System and Earth Connection Block Diagram NOTE 1: "TERM" link fitted on first and last devices on the LAN. In a "star" wiring configuration the "TERM" link is only fitted on the devices at the ends of the two longest LAN cable runs. NOTE 2: Recommended cable for Challenger LAN is Belden pair twisted sheilded data cable. NOTE 3: The Shield of each length of data cable is only connected at one end. NOTE 4: The earth terminals on each lift controller and High Level Lift Protocol Controller, must be earthed by connecting them all to a building earth point via a separate Earth wire. The separate Earth wire must be at least 2.5mm. A heavier guage is recommended for runs of over 500 metres. As the LAN connections of each TS0890 is an isolated RS485 connection it is not necessary to connect each earth to a common point. The "GND" link should not be fitted. This method of earthing will ensure that the difference in earth potential between any two Challenger products connected to the LAN remains at an acceptable minimum. Important Information - Please Note Version 1.04 of the TS0868 High Level Protocol Interface now has two (2) additional lift protocols. They are OTIS version 1 and EPL Kone version.
