Supervisor modules are all operational. At least one supervisor module is red. Fabric modules are all operational. At least one fabric module is red. I/O modules are all operational. At least one I/O module is red. 1

2 Supervisor Module Supervisor Module STATUS All diagnostics pass. The module is operational (normal initialization sequence). The module has detected a slot parity error and will not power on or boot up. The module is booting or running diagnostics (normal initialization sequence). An over temperature condition has occurred. (A minor temperature threshold has been exceeded during environmental monitoring.) Flashing red The diagnostic test has failed. The module is not operational because a fault occurred during the initialization sequence. An over temperature condition has occurred. (A major temperature threshold has been exceeded during environmental monitoring.) Red The module has detected a slot parity error and will not power on or boot up. The module is not receiving power. The operator has activated this to identify this module in the chassis. This module is not being identified. 2

3 SYSTEM All chassis environmental monitors are reporting okay. At least one power supply has failed or the power supply fan has failed. Incompatible power supplies are installed. At least one redundant fan or fan controller has failed in the chassis. Overheating is not imminent. Red The temperature of the Supervisor engine has exceeded the major threshold level. At least one non-redundant fan or fan controller, or both redundant, have failed in the chassis. Overheating is imminent. ACTIVE PWR MGMT LINK ACT Flashing green The supervisor module is operational and active. The supervisor module is in standby mode. Sufficient power is available for all installed modules. Sufficient power is not available for all installed modules. The module has detected a link. The module does not detect a link. The module is transmitting or receiving. The module is not transmitting or receiving. MGMT ETH Note This is available only on Flashing Supervisor-2E amber modules. The management port is operational. The management port link has been disabled through the software. The management port link is bad and has been disabled due to a hardware failure. The module has not detected a signal. LOG FLASH The log flash CompactFlash or USB disk is being accessed. Do not remove the media until the is off. The expansion flash CompactFlash or USB disk is not being accessed. The module is not online. Red The module has detected a slot parity error and will not power on or boot up. The module is not fully inserted, and it is not making a reliable connection with the supervisor. Link (for each port) Flashing amber The module is not receiving power. The port is active (the link is connected and active). The module or port is disabled by using a CLI command or the module is initializing. The port is faulty and disabled. The port is not active or the link is not connected. 5

6 Fabric Module Fabric Module Orange All diagnostics pass. The module is operational (normal initialization sequence). The module is booting or running diagnostics (normal initialization sequence). An over temperature condition has occurred (A minor temperature threshold has been exceeded during environmental monitoring). Flashing Red The diagnostic test has failed. The module is not operational because a fault has occurred during the initialization sequence. An over temperature condition has occurred. (A major temperature threshold has been exceeded during environmental monitoring.) Red The module has detected a slot parity error and will not power on or boot up. The fabric module is not receiving power. The operator has has flagged this module for identification. This module is not being identified. Fan Tray STATUS The fan tray is operational. Flashing red One or more fans is running below the threshold speed. The fan tray is receiving insufficient power. No power is going to the fan tray. The operator has activated this to identify this module in the chassis. This module is not being identified. 6

7 Power Supply Power Supply Depending on the power supply (AC, DC and HVAC/HVDC power supplies), there are 1 or 2 input. The Output, Fault, and have the same function for the AC, DC and HVAC/HVDC power supply units. Input 1 Input 2 (available only on DC power supply units) Output Fault Flasing red off The AC, HVAC/HVDC, or DC input voltage is within the valid range. The AC, HVAC/HVDC, or DC input voltage is outside the valid range. The DC input voltage is within the valid range. The DC input voltage is outside the valid range.
