1 Aim The aim of these instructions is to set out the correct procedure for updating the software in the new Ecomaster Comfort II controls range. Part references and Ecomaster Comfort II driver unit PNº Ecomaster Comfort II passenger unit PNº Page 1 of 7

2 Procedure Description. 1. Download the latest version of the software from Hispacold s website 1.1. Go to Go to Products Buses and coaches Page 2 of 7

4 1.5. Download the update file available for the Ecomaster Comfort II range 2. Save the downloaded file to a USB flash drive with a capacity not larger than 32 GB 2.1. Use a USB flash drive with FAT or FAT32 formatted that can be used solely for this file. The flash drive should not contain any other files; only the update file in the root folder of the device. The downloaded file should have the following format type: ComfortXXXXXX.mot. Being XXXXXX a consecutive alphanumeric code that should correspond with the new software version of this product. 5 3. Updating the control units Starting point: Control nodes should only be powered with the main switch signal (MCS), Ignition switch must be Off for this operation. Control panel will display as shown (fig1): Figure 1: Start-up screen It is recommended to update the passenger node first and control panel at the dashboard afterwards Updating Passenger node PNº : Unplug the 9 pin power supply connecter. Then wait for 5 seconds before continuing. Unplug the 9 pin. Connecter and wait 5 seconds Keep the 9 pin connecter unplugged and Insert the flash drive into the USB port of the passenger unit (Ref ) 9 pin connecter unplugged. Insert flash drive Page 5 of 7

6 Plug the 9 pin power supply connecter back in. Then wait for at least 1 minute. Plug 9 pin connector back in and wait for 1 minute This will automatically initiate the software upload. Note: Since product version HW 1.03, the passenger node is equipped with a green LED next to the USB port. This LED will be ON while software is being uploaded and will turn off once the upload is complete. After 1 minute has passed and with LED Off (product version HW 1.03 or superior), remove the USB flash drive from the passenger node. Finally, after removing the Flash drive, unplug the 9 pin connector, wait 5 seconds and plug again the 9 pin connector Updating Control panel PNº : Follow the same procedure as indicated above for the control panel Unplug the 9 pin power supply connecter. Then wait for 5 seconds before continuing. Screen will turn off after the power supply connecter is unplugged Insert the flash drive into the USB port of the control panel (Ref ) Plug the 9 pin connecter back in and wait for at least 1 minute. 7 During the uploading process the screen will be remain Off. Once the software has been updated the control panel will display the start-up screen (Fig1). Note: Since product version HW 1.05, the control panel is equipped with a green LED next to the USB port. This LED will be On while software is being uploaded and will turn Off once the upload is complete. After 1 minute has passed and with LED Off (product version HW 1.05 or superior), check that control is displaying the Start-up screen (fig.1) and remove the USB flash drive from the control panel. Finally, after removing the Flash drive, unplug the 9 pin connector, wait 5 seconds and plug again the 9 pin connector. 4. Checking the update 4.1. Enter visualization mode to check that the software was successfully updated in both units. Software versions should match with the name of the update file. Enter visualization mode by pressing keys placed on the passenger side of the control panel. Once in visualization mode main screen, press pre-heater key to see software versions. Example: update file: Comfort002P03.mot + Both Driver software DR SOFT and Passenger software PA SOFT will be displayed 0.02P, if software Comfort002P03.mot was correctly uploaded. Page 7 of 7
