2 SAE Aero Advanced Class Competition The advanced class involves designing and building a cargo plane to simulate remotely dropping humanitarian aid packages onto a target zone from 100ft. The scoring is based on accuracy of dropping the package

4 PROBLEM STATEMENT Provide the team with a Telemetry System that meets the requirements of the SAE Advanced Class requirements & Innovation points

5 Telemetry System The telemetry system will be used to: Monitor and record sensor readings that provide information on aircraft performance Target viewing from an on board camera

6 Telemetry Requirements Fits into the fuselage of the plane Light weight and withstands crushes Wireless transmission of data from the plane to the ground station Real-time and reliable video streaming Minimum transmission range of 475ft Include a Fuel Monitoring System Include airspeed sensing User friendly display of sensor readings

7 TOP LEVEL DESIGN Telemetry System The telemetry system is made up of 2 main systems First Person View System (FPV) Data Acquisition System (DAS) First Person View Data Acquisition System

8 First Person View System (FPV) Requirements Stream camera view from the plane to the ground station Save video for playback and flight evaluation Operate on any frequency other than 2.4GHz (Flight control frequency)
