9 Advanced Fuel CANDU Reactor (AFCR ) AFCR forms a strong synergy with China s existing nuclear program In September 2016, SNC-Lavalin signed an agreement in principle for a Joint Venture with CNNC and SEC to develop AFCR technology further, and build AFCRs in China and internationally Recycled Uranium from 4 PWRs can fuel 1 AFCR [2017] SNC-Lavalin Group and its member companies.
