7 Flood Protection Design Criteria Sea Level Rise and Severe Storms Process to establish Design Flood Elevations: Establish flood protection level above code based on: 1. FEMA BFE 2. Asset criticality (ASCE 24) 3. Sea Level Rise commensurate with asset life Recognize system-wide flood protections already in place Perform Benefit Cost Analysis for high value projects Establish Basis of Design in coordination with agency stakeholders
