3 Importance of Small Business Resiliency Resiliency Goal: to help small businesses better prepare for emergencies and enhance the resiliency of their operations, assets, and physical space. When Disaster Strikes Small Businesses: Companies that do not resume operations within ten days usually fail. 50% are gone within five years. 70% percent of small firms that experience a major data loss go out of business within a year. Following a Catastrophic Disaster: 80% that do not recover within one month are likely to go out of business.
