12 Standards of Malaysia Act Mandates the Department of Standards Malaysia to develop national standards and accredit conformity assessment bodies - Gives the authority to the Minister to approve and declare any documents developed under this act as national standards (Malaysian Standards - MS) - Act amended and gazetted on 9 February 2012 and enforced on 15 April

13 MS Malaysian Standard Standard means a document established by consensus and approved by a recognized body, that provides, for common and repeated use, rules, guidelines or characteristics for activities or their results, aimed at the achievement of the optimum degree of order in a given context, with which compliance is not mandatory [Section 2, Act 549] Malaysian Standard means a standard declared under section 15 [Section 15, Act 549] 13
