1 November 10, 2016 Notable Training Opportunities: AWR-342 Maturing Public Private Partnerships (OP3) November 15-17, 2016, Course Description: The Maturing Public-Private Partnerships Workshop is a three-day, in-person instructional training program. Topics covered in this workshop include the historic foundations of public-private partnerships; what makes a successful partnership and typical problem areas; standardized methods to align interests and outcomes and leverage collaboration and communications; procedures to build strong pre-incident partnership teams and shared situational awareness during events; innovative models, legal considerations, and workshop tools. This workshop will require in-person dialogs among stakeholders to explore lessons learned and fully vet best practices. The workshop culminates in the presentation of personal partnership improvement plans that each participant will develop during the three days of training. L958 Operation Section Chief Course December 5 9, 2016, Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District (NEORSD), 4747 E. 49th St., Cuyahoga Heights, OH Course Description: This free four-day course is designed to provide local and state-level emergency responders with a robust understanding of the duties, responsibilities, and capabilities of an effective OSC on an All-Hazards Incident Management Team. These responsibilities fall into two categories: 1) responding to the incident and the command needs of the incident, and 2) effectively fulfilling the position responsibilities of an Operations Section Chief on an All-Hazards ICS Incident Management Team. Exercises, simulations, discussions, and a final exam enable students to process and apply their new knowledge. MGT-347 Incident Command Systems Forms Review Course February 7, 2017, Course Description: This 4 ½-hour workshop provides a detailed introduction to emergency response supervisors and mid-to upper-level managers to th`e Incident Command System (ICS) forms used in the development of an Incident Action Plan (IAP). Participants will examine the primary forms used in an IAP, as well as supporting and other utility forms. In addition, participants will review the planning process and where, within that process, the forms are filled out and by whom. The workshop includes a practical application designed to instruct participants in the development of Specific, Measurable, Action-oriented, Realistic, and Time-based (SMART) control and management objectives. ICS-300 Intermediate Course (MGT-904) February 7 9, 2017, Course Description: During this 18 hour course you can enhance your Incident Command skills, with a special focus on new concepts of the Incident Command System (ICS). The training and resources provided in this course will assist personnel who require advanced application of the ICS. The course will also benefit any person who 1 P a g e

2 has a responsibility to function in a command post managing an expanding incident. Students will participate in group activities that introduce the development of the Incident Action Plan (IAP) and demonstrate the interactions between the Command and General Staff sections of the ICS. (Ohio EMA and County EMA staff will receive priority registration for this course prior to considering other potential students.) L967 Logistics Section Chief (LSC) Course February 6 10, 2017, Ohio Task Force One (OH-TF1), Training Center, 431 McFadden Avenue, Dayton, Ohio Course Description: This course is designed to provide local and state-level emergency responders with a robust understanding of the duties, responsibilities, and capabilities of an effective Logistics Section Chief (LSC) on an All-Hazards Incident Management team. These responsibilities fall into two categories: Logistics Section Chief Duties (1) responding to the incident; and (2) effectively fulfilling the position responsibilities of a Logistics Section Chief on an All-Hazards ICS Incident Management Team. Exercises, simulations, discussions, and a final exam enable students to process and apply their new knowledge. ICS-400 Advanced Course (MGT-905) March 7 8, 2017, Course Description: Enhance your Incident Command skills, with a special focus on new concepts of the Incident Command System (ICS). The training and resources provided in this course will assist personnel who require advanced application of the ICS. The course will also benefit any person who has a responsibility to function in a command post managing an expanding incident. This course builds upon information covered in the ICS-100, ICS- 200, and ICS-300 courses and explains the roles and responsibilities of local, county, state, and federal agencies involved in managing an expanding incident. Enhance your command and decision-making skills by participating in-group activities that introduce the use of an Incident Complex and Area Command, and the interactions between Multi-Agency Coordination (MAC) entities. (Ohio EMA and County EMA staff will receive priority registration for this course prior to considering other potential students.) L449 ICS Train the Trainer Course (MGT-906) May 2 5, 2017, Course Description: L-449 Incident Command System (ICS) Curricula Train the Trainer (MGT906) prepares participants to deliver EMI's ICS curricula. Enhance your instructional skills and prepare to deliver FEMA s Incident Command Systems (ICS) curriculum. While ICS-100 and ICS-200 courses are addressed, the major emphasis is on ICS-300 and ICS-400. Students will learn from training professionals how to use adult-learning techniques to get the best out of the classes you teach. Students will develop and deliver a training module during the course. L950 Incident Commander Course June 19 23, 2017, Course Description: This five-day course provides local- and state-level emergency responders with a robust understanding of the duties, responsibilities, and capabilities of an effective Incident Commander (IC) on an All- Hazards Incident Management Team (AHIMT). These responsibilities fall into two categories: 1) responding to the incident and command needs of the incident, and 2) effectively fulfilling the position responsibilities of an IC on an All-Hazards ICS IMT. 3 Exercise Update: V-0025B - Virtual Tabletop Exercise Series (VTTX) Active Shooter (Shopping Mall) Exercise Date & Location: December 12, 13, and 14, 2016; Virtual Exercise Multiple Locations (Note: Three separate offerings to accommodate as many site applicants as possible) Exercise Length: 4 Hours. Start time is 12:00 P.M. Eastern Standard Time (EST) and end time is 4:00 P.M. EST. Target Audience: The VTTX program is designed for a community-based group (not individual participation) of at least 10 or more personnel from local, state, volunteer, tribal emergency management organizations with representation from all Emergency Management disciplines - public safety, public works, government, administrative, communications, military, private sector, non-governmental, and other whole community partners involved in response. Exercise Design: This VTTX is designed to engage the participants in a no fault hazard-specific exercise discussion. Facilitation will occur via VTC from the EMI campus and will be complimented by a dedicated local agency facilitator at each VTC site. The VTTX will be supported by an Exercise and Coordination Facilitation Guide, which will include all required logistical information (room layout, connection instructions, etc.), as well as facilitation and hot wash instructions. The VTTX will consist of: Three discussion modules Local discussion with guided questions facilitated by an on-site facilitator. Brief-outs from each participating location after each module. These VTTX documents may be customized to reflect your physical location and the module questions may be changed to meet your training needs. Your is your program application. When applying, please provide a central point of contact from your organization to work all VTTX issues. Each location will receive a notice from EMI and will be provided with relevant logistical information and exercise materials to set up and facilitate the exercise locally.
