1 CareInsite Release Notes These Release Notes provide information on enhancements and updates we have made to CareInsite. Please refer to the table of contents below for topics you may be interested in. Sections in this Document Map Changes Data or Database Issues Report Issues

2 Map Changes Excel Data Suggestion: Do not Use the Format Category Special Type ZIP Code Excel spreadsheets have Format Category Special Type formats called ZIPCode and ZIP Code + 4, but when CareInsite imports data in columns with this type, it copies that data into a character type column and ignores the leading 00s that may exist in these columns. If you are working with data in the Northeast United States, this could mean that data is not imported correctly and the resulting analyses and reports display the following error: None of the employee have a valid lat or long field If you have a Excel spreadsheet using the Special Zipcode datatype we suggest the following steps: 1. Create two new columns of type Text. 2. Copy the data from the special ZIPCode column into one of the text columns. Note: Using this method, if you have any leading zero data, it will be dropped. To retain the leading 00s data, use the formula =IF(LEN(B2)=4,"0"&B2,B2) in the second text column. The Add Points and Add Text Tools are Not Currently Implemented When you select a layer in Layer Control to add a point or text to, you find that these tools have not yet been implemented. You can type text into a layer you have set as editable and select the DRAWING TOOLS CAN ADD FEATURES checkbox but these features are not yet working. Concentric Ring Buffers Map Has No Legend When you create a Provider with Distance Rings map, you may notice that there is no legend to explain the ring theme. This is a known issue that is not currently resolved in CareInsite. If you export your reports, you can create your own legend, however MapInfo Corporation. All rights reserved. 2 CI_RN.pdf

3 Data or Database Issues As a general rule, if you import your data into CareInsite and find that the data is missing vital information (such as ZIP Codes or longitude/latitude information), it is better to remove the data and fix it in your original format rather than try to fix it inside CareInsite. CareInsite Allows You to Enter Duplicate Provider Networks, But Don t If you add two Provider Networks with the same name, an error results: Figure: Error Adding Provider Network But, after you click OK, CareInsite adds the duplicate Provider Network anyway. We recommend that you delete the duplicate record to avoid confusion. If you leave both entries in, you could end up selecting the wrong Provider Network entry by mistake and change the outcome of your reports. Provider Groups Must be in Provider Network for Analysis If you try to run an analysis using a Provider Group that is not in the Provider Network selected for the analysis, an error results. The error message says: None of the Employee records had valid lat or long values; unable to run analysis To resolve this error, establish a new data connection to your provider data and select the appropriate provider network. Importing Data Fields Incorrectly Causes Errors When you select the wrong data entries in the Add Employee or Provider Data Source dialog boxes, CareInsite displays an error message: Figure: Unable to Import Data Error Message When you click OK to close the message, the Importing Data status message does not close. To resolve this issue: 1. Close CareInsite and reopen it. 2. Delete the data connection you created that caused the error. 3. 4 Data Connections Cannot Access Query Tables in MS Access If you use Microsoft Access, you might want to create queries to organize a large amount of data into categories and then create a data connection to those query tables. However, if you attempt to do this in CareInsite, the query table does not display in the list and you cannot connect to it. This is a known issue. ZIP Code Entries and Boundaries not Validated in UserGeocode Method When you use an external method to geocode your provider or employee records, CareInsite does not check so see if the ZIP codes in your files are within the boundaries of the map you are using. CareInsite places the points in the correct location but the report is skewed based on the ZIP code information supplied. Don t Move that MDB! Once you establish a data connection and add the data to the CareInsite database, you have created a copy of your data in the CareInsite database. If you move that MDB (database file), CareInsite cannot find it and displays an unhandled exception. We recommend that you leave the database files in the database directory to prevent this error. ODBC Error Explained If you do not install an ODBC driver installed and you attempt to create a ODBC Data Source, you get the error: Missing LocalMachine registry key :software\odbc\odbc.ini\odbc Data Source To prevent this error, click START > CONTROL PANEL > ADMINISTRATIVE TOOLS > DATA SOURCES (ODBC) and make sure that you have installed the ODBC driver correctly. Provider Group and Provider Type Names Must be Unique If you create a provider group and provider type with the same name, an error results. Oracle is not a Supported Database in CareInsite does not currently support Oracle databases. If there is sufficient demand for this platform in the future, MapInfo will revisit this issue for the CareInsite application. Suggestion to Enhance Performance for Tables Over 30K Records If the Employee Table or the Provider Table you are working with has over 30K records, we recommend that you use the GeographicCentroid or, if available, the UserGeocoded geocode method to improve performance. Because the PopulationCentroid method is so dependent on the population centroids, performance can be slower than the other options geocoding methods MapInfo Corporation. 5 Report Issues Crystal Reports Issue: Exporting Reports to Excel may Produce Unexpected Results When exporting reports to the Excel format, you may notice some formatting issues and extraneous characters in the exported text. These issues are due to the Crystal Reports engine we use to create your CareInsite reports. In our testing, we have found that all of these issues are reparable within Excel, if exporting is required. We recommend that you print from within the CareInsite application. Headers of Detailed Reports Do Not Display on Subsequent Pages When you produce a detailed report, for example the Enclosing Geographic Areas - Detail Report at the end of the analysis, the report may span more than one page but the headings display only on the first page. If you want to modify this report and you have Microsoft Excel, you can export the file using the button and add the headings you want. Refer to the issue above for complications involved in this approach. Summary Report Uses Network Label not the Provider Network Name When you setup your Analysis to produce reports, you may notice that the entries in the upper left hand corner of the reports are the Network Label you entered and the Employee Group from the data. We are aware of this inconsistency. If you want to change this entry, you can export the file using the button and add the headings you want. Refer to Crystal Reports Issue: Exporting Reports to Excel may Produce Unexpected Results for complications involved in this approach. Analysis Tab Displays Duplicate Entries After you set up your Analysis and go to the Analysis tab, duplicate entries of the new analysis displays. After you generate the Analysis once, the duplicate entry disappears. If you close CareInsite before you go to the Analysis tab, this does not occur. This is a known issue. Windows XP Issue: Uninstalling CareInsite Results in Map_Data and Files When you uninstall CareInsite in a Windows XP environment, the map_data directory and files are left behind.
