4 Analytical Accounting What is Analytical Accounting? Analytical Accounting allows an unlimited amount of information to be tracked and tagged to transactions by specific GL account The setup consists of creating AA Dimensions, AA Dimension Codes, and AA Account Classes Reports can be created in Management Reporter for AA dimensions the same way a segment of your GL can be reported on

5 Analytical Accounting AA transaction dimensions Use the Transaction Dimension Maintenance window to set up different types of transaction dimensions, which you can use to classify, report, and analyze transaction data for a period. Example: You want to track certain transactions by Marketing Event, therefore the dimension set up is EVENT.

7 Analytical Accounting AA transaction dimension codes Use the Transaction Dimension Code Maintenance window to set up and delete transaction dimension codes for transaction dimensions. During transaction entry, you will enter analysis information using the codes you set up in this window. Example: The dimension is EVENT, the codes would be each Marketing event you want to track transactions against.

9 Analytical Accounting AA Accounting Class Use the Accounting Class Maintenance window to define for each accounting class, transaction dimensions that can be used to enter analysis information during transaction entry. Example: You want to be able to tag any and all advertising related expenses entered in GP to a specific Marketing event.

15 User Licensing Workflow Users If the user is part of the workflow in any way (submitting, approving) the user MUST have an active directory account assigned to their account. Can be a GP user. Use navigation lists and smartlists to take actions on workflow elements Can be a non-gp user User actions to move things along in the workflow

16 User Licensing Self Service Users Named User instead of concurrent users. Named user is based on the premise that the user is always counted as 1 license. Concurrent is what you are used to in GP. Example with a 10 user license. We have 45 employees but 10 can log in at any time. You must have a SQL Server Client Access License (CAL) available for the user also. Self service are very inexpensive ($60 a user) but do require a SQL server seat / CAL to function.

30 Did you know? Starting GP 2013 R2 you can right click and increase or decrease the width of the Favorites Pane.

31 Did you know? Starting GP 2013 R2 you can set how you want the Favorites Pane to behave. Enable Auto-hide to have the Favorites pane shrink once you select a smartlist Hide/Show Favorites Pane is a manual control to hide the pane. You can also click the less than sign to perform the same action

32 Did you know? Smartlist still has a capability to run Excel macros when you Export to Excel. If configured right you can have the Export to Excel create the same pivot tables you create yourself after exporting

34 SmartList Designer is the Out of Box Alternative to SmartList Builder It is included with GP 2013 and newer

35 SmartList Designer is conveniently located in SmartList by clicking New.

37 It is simple to get started. Choose New to start from scratch on a new SmartList

38 Name the SmartList, choose a product, and select the Series the SmartList will display in.

39 Check the box next to the Table Name to select all fields in the table or expand the node to select individual fields. To select more than one table simply check the boxes next to all desired tables or fields to be included. If you select more than one table you must set their relationships also.

40 Review the Selected Fields Note: There is no way to change the default order once added in the Designer. You should select the fields in the order you would like them to appear. Removing the fields and readding allows for changes.

Use the Relationship area to define how one table relates to another. The Auto Link function can be used most of the time to link tables to one another quickly.

Inner Join will relate a table as a one to one. In the example an Inner Join means that the customer number would have to exist in both tables Left join will relate data from one table to the other but still return data from the first table even if there is not a match. Cross Join means that you join both tables to one another and return all data without relation to one another.

43 SmartList Designer can create Go To s to other SmartLists, Navigation Lists, or Web Pages. There is no control to specify the parameters of the Go To. You would have to filter further once you access the next Go To.

44 Simply select an existing SmartList and click New above. This will bring in all of the fields from the smartlist to work with modifying.

45 If your newly created Smartlist was created from a View then you will now have the option to Publish from the Smartlist window. Excel report deploys to the Product / Series selections made when saving your Smartlist
