2 Control Vision 1) Start-up of Control Vision Enter the access code of the USB key: 2003 (corresponds to the code introduced for CV Administration) Click on the file menu and then on preference (Crtl + P) Page 2 on

3 Control Vision Define the language Define the directory of the backup files, so that this choice is made automatically. Define the directory of the trace files, in order to keep a trace of all the manipulations done in the Notepad format. Define the directory of the error report files, in order to keep a trace of all the errors in the Notepad format. Page 3 on

4 Control Vision Click on the file menu and then on connection (Crtl + W) Define the location of the Control Vision database (.Ib file). In the example: CrtlVision.ib Then click on OK. After a few seconds, a confirmation message is displayed, and then click on OK. Now all the actions carried out in will be effective in the database. Click on the file menu then on disconnection (Crtl + D), in order to be able to get reconnected in a new database by restarting a new connection. Page 4 on

5 Control Vision 2) Automatic backup and deletion Automatic full backup (Crtl + F) Define the location for the backup. Define the maximum number of backups in the previously defined directory (0= infinite number of backups) Define the repetition of the backup, per day, per week or per month. Warning: At the time of definition of the number of backups, the automatic and manual full backups are accounted for. Warning: If an operation has to begin while another one is being carried out, it will begin when the first operation will be over. Page 5 on

6 Control Vision Automatic partial backup (Crtl + B) The automatic partial backup is carried out in 2 steps, which can be selected by clicking on next or previous. Define the location for the backup. Define the repetition of the backup, per day, per week or per month. Define the data to be backed up of all the devices present in the database. Page 6 on

7 Control Vision Automatic partial deletion (Crtl + R) The automatic partial deletion is carried out in 2 steps, which can be selected by clicking on next or previous. Define the number of day when the data will not be deleted in the database; therefore, all the data prior to this date will be automatically deleted. Define the repetition of the deletion, per week or every X months. Define the data to be deleted of all the devices present in the database. Page 7 on

9 Control Vision Manual partial backup (Crtl + J) The manual partial backup is carried out in 3 steps, which can be selected by clicking on next or previous. Define a name for the backup. Define the location for the backup. Define the data to be backed up. In the example: The power consumption and the meters. Define on which device the partial backup is being done. Manual partial deletion (Crtl + H) The manual partial deletion is carried out in 3 steps, which can be selected by clicking on next or previous. Define a name for the deletion. Define the location for the deletion. Define the data to be deleted. In the example: The power consumption and the meters. Page 10 on

11 Control Vision Define on which device the partial deletion is being done. In the example: The DIRIS A40 Define the date from which all the data prior to this date will be deleted in the database. Page 11 on

12 Control Vision Devices definition backup (Crtl + L): Topology of the network Define a name for the backup of the definition of the devices (network topology). Define the location for the backup. WARNING: This function retains only the topology (Group, Devices: Type, Addressing, Name, etc ), but not the data. Page 12 on

13 Control Vision 4) Management of the different file types for backups The automatic full backup: The backup will create a file.gbk named FullBkup with the date and the time. The automatic partial backup: The backup will create a file for each type of data (voltages, currents, power ).IBK named with the date, time and the type of backed up data. PartBkup The manual full backup: The backup will create a file.gbk named with the chosen name with the date and the time. The manual partial backup: The backup will create a file.ibk named with the chosen name with the date and the time. The device definition backup: The backup will create a file.ibk named with the chosen name with the date and the time. Page 13 on

14 Control Vision 5) Creation of an empty base (Crtl + Y) Define a name for the new empty base. Define its location. Define its version (only one choice for the time being) WARNING: The creation of an empty base will be an.ib type file Page 14 on

15 Control Vision Procedure to be followed for introducing this empty base in the Control Vision directory: Do a copy paste of the empty base (from the Backups folder to the Base folder) Move the current base (CTRLVISION.IB) into another folder in order to be able to reuse it after the manipulations. 17 Control Vision 6) Import: Restoration (Crtl + I) Define a name for creating a new base or select an already existing base. Define its location. Define the file to be imported WARNING: Only.IB files can be selected in Name. Only.GBK files can be imported for the restoration. At the time of the choice of the database where the data are going to be imported, there are 2 solutions: - Either the data are imported in the existing base, knowing that all the data subsequent to the date of creation of the import file will be lost - Or the data are imported in a blank base, by using the methodology of CH.5: Creation of an empty base Page 17 on

18 Control Vision 7) Import: Data (Crtl + S) Define the file to be imported. Define an already existing base. WARNING: Only.IBK files can be imported for a partial restoration of the data. The.IBK can come from the manual or automatic partial backup. Only.IB files can be selected in Directory of the base. Page 18 on

19 Control Vision WARNING: When you import data which are already present in the database, an error message is displayed under (cf. the screen herein below). These errors must be ignored; it is only the software which detects data doublets. Advice: For data imports, never work on the database which is connected to Control Vision User. It is therefore preferable to work on a blank database recreated for this operation. Similarly, when you work with a database which is different from the original database (e.g.: for importing data), we must be aware of the fact that all the data recorded by the devices will not be stored. 20 Control Vision 8) Methodology of use: Objective of the actions: - Carry out automatic backups and deletions in order to retain an operable database size - Recover a backup in order to use old measurements Automatic full backup: We advise you to carry out an automatic full backup every month (e.g.: on the 1 st of the month at 1 a.m.) And then, we advise you to carry out an automatic deletion of all the data on all the devices once every 2 months retaining the last 15 days of measurements. Warning: Schedule the automatic deletion after the automatic backup (at least 2-3 hours in order to leave enough time for the operations to be carried out). Furthermore, preferably carry out the automatic actions towards the beginning of the month (avoid the 29 th, 30 th and 31 st which are not present in all the months of the year). Page 20 on

21 Control Vision Once these automatic actions have been scheduled, you will recover a time and date stamped file every month "FullBkup.GBK" Page 21 on

22 Control Vision Once this file has been created, you cannot use it directly in Control Vision. For doing this, first of all this.gbk file has to be transformed into a workable file in.ib. Click on Restoration of the data in "Manual actions => imports". Once you have filled in the seed files and the destination files, you get a "FullImport.Ib" file. This file can now be used under Control Vision. Now, all that remains to be done is to replace the existing database (in C:\Program Files\Socomec\Control Vision\Base) by the one that you have just created by doing a "Copy Paste" and renaming the FullImport.IB in CtrlVision.ib Page 22 on

23 Control Vision Warning: When you make this change of database, make sure that you keep a copy of your current database, in order to be able to put it back in place when you would have finished extracting the measurements that are of interest to you. Automatic partial backup and recovery of the data originating from several files: The procedure for carrying out an automatic partial backup is the same. However, you get a file for each type of data (voltages, currents, powers, etc ). Page 23 on

24 Control Vision Once these files are recorded, you must go into the menu "Manual actions => Import => Import of the data" in order to use the recorded data. In file to be imported, select the.ibk which is of interest to you (voltages, currents ) In directory of the base, select the database where you wish to import these data (either the current database, or a blank base).
