1 HOW TO DOWNLOAD YOUR FILES There are three ways to get your instant download files. The first is with the download now button which appears on the order confirmation screen. Files will be available as soon as your payment has cleared, so if you have paid with a credit or debit card you may need to wait a few seconds for this to happen. The second way of downloading them is by using the links on the order confirmation which is sent to the account you use to log into Etsy. If you don t see it, it may have gone to your junk folder. The third option is to log into Etsy and head to your account>purchases and reviews. There you will find links to download all the instant download files you have ever purchased through Etsy. Simply click on the item to download it and follow the options on whatever device you are using. I recommend using a computer for this as it s a lot easier and you probably won t be able to open.zip files on most mobile devices/tablets without having to install a 3rd party app.

2 HOW TO OPEN A.ZIP FILE It is currently only possible to attach 5 single files to an instant download through Etsy. So in order to give you all the multiple sizes/colour options plus help files like this, the multiple PDF files have to be compressed into.zip folders. TO OPEN A.ZIP FOLDER ON A MAC I normally find I can unzip files just by double clicking on them. Alternatively, right-click the ZIP file on your Mac, click Open With from the pop-up menu and then click Archive Utility to decompress the file. TO OPEN A.ZIP FOLDER ON A WINDOWS PC MOBILE/TABLET DEVICES I recommended that you use a computer to unzip your files, and I am not able to offer tech support for opening ZIP files on a mobile/tablet. However you may find you are able to install a 3rd party app to unzip files on your mobile/tablet. LOV E L E T T E R E D E S T

3 HOW TO USE YOUR EDITABLE PDF STEP 1: INSTALL THE REQUIRED (FREE!) FONTS ON YOUR COMPUTER All editable PDFs are carefully set up and formatted to work with whichever fonts the designer has chosen for that theme. If you then open that PDF on a computer which does not have that particular font installed, Acrobat Reader will substitute a similar from your system. However, the spacing and leading on that font will not be the same and so there may be gaps or uneven spacing. So the first thing you will need to do, as explained in the lisiting details is to install the free font which I have chosen for the editable text onto your computer. THE LINK TO THE RELEVANT FONT WILL BE HERE ON THE HELP FILES THAT COME WITH YOUR PURCHASED FILE Dafont.com has a help page explaining how to install the font on MacOS and Windows STEP 2: INSTALL ADOBE ACROBAT READER DC TO YOUR COMPUTER The next thing to do is to install Adobe Acrobat Reader DC if you don t already have it. It is a free software download from Adobe Once you have installed the font and Adobe Reader, you can then open your PDF file in Adobe Reader.

4 STEP 3: OPEN THE PDF IN ADOBE READER Although you can open and edit the PDF in the standard PDF viewer that comes with your computer, you may find that not all the editable properties are fully carried over. For example, on some PDFs I have set the text size to automatically resize so that whatever is typed will fill the available space, but when I open these PDFs and edit on my standard Mac file previewer, as you can see, it makes the text smaller: However when I open it in Adobe Reader, the text resizes correctly. I also found that the Mac file previewer auto saved the edited text and when I then opened it in Adobe Reader it had kept the small size and there was no way to make it bigger again! If this happens to you, don t panic; all you need do is delete that PDF file and just download a new copy from your Etsy account>purchase history and start over in Adobe Reader. I AM NOT ABLE TO OFFER FURTHER TECH SUPPORT FOR EDITABLE PDFS WHICH HAVE NOT BEEN EDITED IN ADOBE READER AS RECOMMENDED

5 Simply click on the editable fields, delete the example text and add your own. Then you can save your file by clicking file>save as and following the on screen options.

6 TO GET THE BEST RESULTS IF YOU ARE PRINTING AT HOME, PLEASE FOLLOW THESE EASY STEPS These screenshots are from Adobe Reader s print dialogue screen. I recommend using this to open and print your PDF. It is a free software download from Adobe To make sure your PDF prints out at the correct size, you need to make sure that you check actual size and not fit. The crop marks on the edge will also get printed if you don't uncheck this. See how they are gone from the preview of the printed area in the second image when it is changed to actual size. (The extra parts of the image outside this are in what is called the bleed area. It s not part of the main design and isn t meant to be printed.) If you are printing on larger paper and cutting down to size, for example, printing a 5x7 PDF on A4 or US letter paper, then you will use the crop marks as a guide for where to cut to make sure your PDF is the correct size.

7 You should also go into the printer settings to make sure that you have the correct paper type and size selected. Click where it says printer at the bottom of the box. Make sure theat the quality is set to best. You will have different options here if you have a different printer to me, and you will probably know what the best ones for your printer are!

8 Whatever type of paper you decide to use, make sure that you select that paper type in the settings. You may need to set the paper size you ll be printing on here too, depending on your printer. Please note that if you don t have a printer which does borderless printing you will always have a white margin on the final print and this is not a fault with the PDF.

9 IF YOU ARE PRINTING A SMALLER PDF ON BIGGER PAPER AND THEN CUTTING DOWN TO SIZE 4 INCHES 6 INCHES THIS PART IS THE BLEED AREA AND NEEDS TO BE TRIMMED OFF This is a 6 x 4 PDF printed on A4 paper. I have drawn a pencil line between the crop marks which I will use to cut the PDF down to 4x6. If you have any further questions, please contact me via Etsy and I will do my best to help!
