2 Frequently Asked Questions 1. Sign-In: How do I obtain a Username & Password to access the NFH Website? Use the Forgot your password? function in the sign-in box. The NFH website system will your username and a link to securely reset your private password to you. See the Signing In user guide for more information. 2. Member Profile: Can I update my NFH Member information on-line? Yes, you can review and update your contact and cabin information, as well as, member preferences by editing your member profile. See the Update your Member Profile user guide for more information. 3. enewsletter: How do I request NFH Newsletter delivery by ? Members have the option to receive NFH Newsletters by . Your member profile has an enewsletter flag in the Personal Information section. Select Yes to receive NFH enewsletters by or select No to continue to receiving printed Newletters by US Mail. 4. Renew Membership: Can I renew my membership on-line? Yes, Individual Regular or Associate Members can pay their annual NFH membership dues on-line securely with a credit card. This function is not available to Member Tract Members, who will continue to pay NFH dues through their local tract association. See the Renew Your Membership user guide for more information. 5. NFH s: I don t recall receiving NFH s, how do I get on the NFH list? The NFH utilizes the member s address listed in your Member Profile. The NFH may not have your current address on file. If you are able to sign-in, you can update your address on file. If unable to sign-in, please submit a Help Request using the Need Help? Gremlin located on the lower left rail of the NFH Homepage. Also, some services may filter or block NFH s unintentionally. To prevent this, please add NFH addresses to your Safe Sender list to authorize receipt of NFH s. 3 Signing In to the NFH Website for the first time? 1. Locate the Sign In box on the left side of the NFH homepage that contain fields to enter your Username and Password. 2. When you sign in for the first time, we recommend you change your Username. If you were provided a temporary password by the NFH, you must change your Password to maintain adequate security (see instructions on next page). 3. If you do not know your Username and/or Password, click on Forgot your password? in the sign-in box and follow the directions below. 4. On the next screen, enter your address and a validation code, then click on the yellow Reset Password button. 5. The system will send an to you (similar to below) with a link to reset your password within a few minutes. From this , click on the Reset My Password Now! link and follow the directions to reset your password and sign-in to the NFH website. A request to reset the password for XXXXXXX has been submitted from: National Forest Homeowners Please click on the link below to be taken back to the site to reset your password: Reset My Password Now! Please Note: For security purposes, this link expires in 24 hours. 3

4 NOTE: If you do not receive the from the NFH system within a few minutes, please check your spam folder for the sent from bwarnock@nationalforesthomeowners.org. If the is not found in your inbox or spam folder, its possible NFH does not have your current address for your account. In that case, please use the Need Help? Gremlin located on the lower left of the NFH homepage to submit a Help Request. A Username & Temporary Password will be manually set and ed to you, generally within 24 hours. How Do You Change Your Username & Password? Once you Sign-In, you should see your personal Profile Home page. If not, click on the Profile Home link in the My Profile box on the left-rail. Note that your name appears as the page heading. 1. The content area contains your Member Profile information. 2. To change your username and/or password, click on [EDIT] located on the right side of the horizontal green PERSONAL INFORMATION bar, to open your Edit My Member Profile page. 3. Under ACCOUNT INFORMATION locate your Username and Password. You may change these items by clicking on (change) to update. If you just completed resetting your password via the Forgot your password? function, there is no need to reset again, but you may wish to update your Username. While you are in EDIT mode, please review other personal contact or cabin information and update as needed. 4. Once you ve completed making changes to your username and/or password be sure to click on Save Changes located at the bottom of the page. 5. Once you have established and saved your Username and new Password, Signoff, and again Sign-In to confirm you have a functional Username and Password established. Congratulations, you are now connected to the Member s NFH Website. Feel free to navigate and explore all of the member features using the horizontal menu bar near the top of the page for navigation. When it comes time to renew your NFH membership, all Regular & Associate Members (not Member Tract members) have the option to renew online using a credit card for payment. Please see the Renew your Membership User guide, also located on the homepage left-rail for further directions. 4

5 Upon successfully Signing-In, your personal profile page will open with YOUR NAME in the page heading. If you don t see your member profile, navigate to your member profile by clicking on Profile Home under the MY PROFILE box. Please make every effort to keep your NFH member information up-to-date! REVIEW AND UPDATE YOUR MEMBER PROFILE Carefully review your member profile information and confirm the information is correct. 1. If you need to update one or more items, merely click on [EDIT] located on the right side of the horizontal green PERSONAL INFORMATION bar, to open your Edit My Member Profile page. 2. Under ACCOUNT INFORMATION locate your Username and Password. To change either item merely click on (change) to enter your updated information. Note: In addition to changing your password in the popup window, you must continue to step #6 below to save all changes, including your new password. 3. Please confirm that your address is correct. 4. Locate the enewsletter: Yes/No option in the PERSONAL INFORMATION section. When you select Yes, the NFH Newsletter is sent to you by at the same time the publication is sent to the printer. When you select No, the newsletter is sent to you by US mail after returning from the printer. In consideration of a more timely receipt, lower costs than print and mail editions, and their efficient storage and retrieval, we encourage you to subscribe to the enewsletter by selecting Yes. 5. Continue down the page to confirm the remaining information in your PERSONAL INFORMATION and CABIN INFORMATION sections are correct, and make any corrections, that are needed. You may be interested in the privacy settings described on the next page. 6. Once you ve completed your updates or corrections, be sure to click on Save Changes located at the bottom of the page. 5

6 MEMBER CONTROL OF DIRECTORY INFORMATION LISTINGS Member profiles are never visible to the general public; however there are certain limited website functions that could make your profile visible to other signed-in NFH members. These include participation in a private group with a directory. A private Group Directory allows members of the group visibility to all member profiles within the group (i.e. NFH Committees, or Local Associations). Also, participation in a Forum dialog allows other NFH members see to your member profile when you post a comment, question, or reply to a topic. The use of the field level privacy setting allows you to hide certain personal information fields from other members under all circumstances, overriding the functions described above. You may select those profile information fields that could be visible to others in the Directory, or mark private to block visibility of that field to all other members. 1. Your Member Profile information defaults to allow visibility to other NFH members. Privacy controls allow you to change this setting. Member control of one s Member Profile information is managed by use of the Member/Private icon located to the left of each profile item. Select and click on one of these icons. This reveals a dialogue box (right) to select whether that item will appear in your Member Profile or not be visible. You may selectively choose which fields to mark private (not visible to others) 2. To illustrate, go to your Address line and click on the Member/Private icon, and then click on the Lock icon so that your street name or mailing address in that line will become private and not visible. 3. If you change the visibility of any items, make sure you click on the Save Changes button at the bottom of the page to retain your desired settings. 6

7 RENEW YOUR MEMBERSHIP PAYING NFH DUES If you are a NFH Member Tract Member Please DO NOT continue with this user guide if you pay NFH dues through your local tract association. Your dues will continue to be collected by your local tract/association rather than through the NFH website. If you are not a current NFH member and wish to join Please use the Join NFH function located on the NFH Home Page menu if joining the NFH for the first time. If you are a former NFH member whose membership lapsed prior to the current year, please contact Barbara Warnock at bwarnock@nationalforesthomeowners.org, or to reinstate your membership. If you are a current NFH Individual Member you have the option to pay your dues online. Your dues will now be administered through the website management system. The member must first sign-in to the private Members Only portion of the NFH Website. Please reference the Sign-In User Guide for further assistance if you are signing in for the first time. Individual members will receive NFH dues notice alerts by on the following schedule: You will receive Dues Notices by o 30 days prior to your membership expiration/renewal date. o 1 day prior to your expiration date (if not paid). o 30 days after expiration date (if not paid). The Dues Notice will contain a link for you to initiate your dues payment. Use the link contained in the to sign into the NFH website. In addition, the member can sign into the website at any time to review your membership status. Once signed-in, navigate to the Membership Info under the MY PROFILE box on left-rail to review your membership status, renewal date, and initiate payment if you are approaching or beyond your renewal date. Step 1: Once you sign-in from the dues alert notice, you should be see the Membership Info screen. If not, click on the Membership Info option under the MY PROFILE box located in the left-rail. The Membership Info screen content will vary depending the status of your membership. The three examples on the next page are the most typical. 7

8 Example 1 Member s view prior to your renewal date: To pay your dues, click on the Securely renew your membership now link. Example 2 Member s view after your renewal (expiration) date: To pay your dues, click on the Securely renew your membership now link. Example 3 Member s view if an invoice was already generated by NFH: To pay your dues, click on the 2 nd icon from the left on the invoice line. The 1 st icon allows you to view and/or print your invoice. (Skip the next Step 2 and proceed to Step 3) 8

9 Step 2: Select your member type which generates the appropriate invoice. Select Membership Type (defaults to existing member type) Check the Billing Address is same as Member Address box Do not check the Update Member Information box Step 3: Select Payment Type Pay by Credit Card (almost all members use this option) o Select the Credit Card option and proceed to fill in your credit card information and confirm your transaction. o Payment is securely processed by the website. 9

10 Note: Your credit card transaction is processed immediately by NFH merchant processing partner BluePay. Your credit card information is not stored in the NFH website for future use to minimize any risk of theft or hacking as experienced by some retailers. Credit Card information must be reentered with each transaction. o Your membership status is updated within minutes. o Your invoice will show paid in full and is your receipt. You can print the invoice for your records at any time; it remains with your account. Pay by Check o Select the Check/Money Order option and confirm your transaction. o Print the invoice and mail a check, along with a copy of the invoice, to the NFH lock box address located at the bottom of the invoice. o Your membership status will be updated once the NFH has received and processed your check payment (allow 10+ days for processing time). NFH will also honor requests for invoice by US Mail: o If you don t wish to use the Website to pay your dues, please contact Barbara Warnock bwarnock@nationalforesthomeowners.org to receive printed invoices by US Mail. NFH Grace Period Policy to be Continued: o Allows time for processing dues payments. This provides website access and maintains other membership privileges during the grace period. Step 4: View/Print Invoice. The invoice remains attached to your Membership account. You can view and/or print at any time. Note, the invoice will reflect paid in full once your payment has been processed (minutes by credit card, days by check).
