1 PKU Spring Application Instructions 1) Follow all the instructions listed on this sample application. Otherwise, your application will appear in the wrong format. 2) You will need your official UC transcript, passport, and a passport style photo on hand in order to complete this online application. 3) After submitting the application online to PKU, print one (1) copy of the completed application. You may also want to print an extra copy for your own records. 4) Write the characters for your Chinese name on the first page, next to your typed Chinese name in pinyin. If you do not have a Chinese name, ask a language instructor or select one online. Keep in mind that this name will be used on all of your records in China. 5) Attach a passport style photo. 6) Sign and date application. 7) Submit the printed application to UCEAP. 2 Input registration information. Keep track of your username and password so that you can access it later on. Use that you check regularly. Once you submit your registration information, PKU will send you an . Click on the link and it will take you to the application.

3 Select Non-degree Program Application.

4 Read the agreement and click I agree.

5 Select General Visiting Students Program. Then select Group Program.

6 Select University of California EAP.

7 Upload a scanned passport style photo. Your personal information must match what is listed in your passport. Last name. First name. You must include your Chinese name where indicated on the form. Talk to a Chinese language instructor if you do not have a Chinese name yet. This will be your official name in China, so keep a copy. Country of citizenship. University of California Student Must match passport. Leave blank. You will apply for your visa during later on.

8 List all schools attended after high school, including current UC. As applicable. Scan a copy of your passport to upload with your online PKU application. Unseal your official transcript and scan a copy to upload to the PKU online application system. Submit the hard copy with your PKU application print out to UCEAP.

9 If this section does not say Spring 2013 Group Program, you completed the first section of the application incorrectly and need to go back and correct it. Select School of Chinese as a Second Language as your department If you wish to enroll in a different department, you must provide a language proficiency certificate (ex. HSK) to prove that your Chinese language ability is advanced enough for coursework in Chinese. As applicable.

Once your application status changes to ApplyStatus.wait, press the print button on the right-hand side of the webpage. The application form will be printed out in PDF format (not the webpage format). Do not send supporting documents directly to PKU. Application materials should be sent to UCEAP. As soon as your application is complete with all required documents, it will be forwarded to PKU for consideration. Don t forget to: Print, sign, and date the application.
