2 PAGE 2 WHY THIS MATTERS While it is easy for the student body to see the hundreds of group events that take place every year, connecting those events to Student Union is more difficult. Developing and growing the Student Union presence on campus though consistent, recognizable branding will help connect the dots between Student Union funded events and the organization as a whole.
3 PAGE 3 The LOGO GUIDELINES The Student Union logo is the most recognizable symbol of the organization. To maintain consistency and ensure legibility, we ask that you follow these guidelines when using the logo: - The logo should be reproduced from a full-size, electronic file, which can be found in at su.wustl.edu/pr. The logo should never be altered. - When possible, please use the.png files. If you need a different file format, please pr@su.wustl.edu. Do not use any other versions of the logo found online or from past s. - To maintain readability, the logo should not be reproduced any smaller than ½ inch in diameter (about the size of a penny). - On most backgrounds, the regular black/white logo should be used. On black backgrounds, the outlined logo can be used (also at su.wustl.edu/pr). Student Union no longer uses the colored logo. - The SU logo should be included on all publicly shared, SU-funded materials included but not limited to posters and flyers (printed or digital), t-shirts or group websites. - Note: SU branches with existing, sub-branded SU logos (such as GEC, DAC or Senate) do not need to include the SU logo as well.

5 PAGE 5 INCORRECT LOGO USAGE If a student group is found to be using the Student Union logo incorrectly or not at all, the following actions will be taken: First Offense: Verbal warning. Group will be asked to fix materials to include the proper logo and remove any incorrect posted materials. Second Offense: In addition to results of a first offense, group will be put on close watch and be at risk of deregistration if clear efforts to prevent future offenses are not made. Third Offense: Semester-long deregistration as a student group.
6 PAGE 6 PART TWO: OTHER NOTES RESOURCES
7 PAGE 7 ALL-SCHOOL In response to some questions and confusion about the all-school sent every Monday, only announcements from direct branches of Student Union (such as SPB, GEC or Senate) can be included. If your group is working with a branch of Student Union, talk to them about including the announcement in the all-school . Speaker Series is the only student group events we will include, and Speaker Series participants must also refer to separate branding standards specifically for Speaker Series. Unfortunately at this time, we cannot include general student group announcements in the . UNDERPASS A quick reminder that the four underpass spaces adjacent to the sphere / pyramid are reserved for announcements that directly involve SU branches only and for the Speaker Series. These spaces cannot be reserved online, but if a group chooses to paint there anyway, it will be treated as a strike the same way incorrect logo usage would be. A detailed explanation of reserving the underpass, finding the paint room, and when groups can begin painting can be found in How Things Work. GROUP WEBSITES All SU group websites should in some way direct back to su.wustl.edu. If you are unsure of the natural place for your link to the SU website to appear, please contact pr@su.wustl.edu. Groups in violation will receive a strike.
8 PAGE 8 POSTING POLICY A reminder that there are restrictions on the number of flyers groups can post on bulletin boards that vary by location, and that tacks are preferred when posting. Please review the full University Posting Policy on page 28 of How Things Work. SOCIAL MEDIA Student groups are encouraged to tag and share social media announcements with Student Union, and the SU accounts will share and retweet when appropriate.
