1 Jabber MomentIM Help Topic How to Use Jabber Outlook Add-in The Jabber Outlook Add-in integrates several features of Jabber MomentIM: Shows Jabber MomentIM contact s presence on the Microsoft Outlook toolbar Allows you to initiate a one-to-one chat with Jabber MomentIM contacts from Outlook Allows you to initiate a quick conference room from Outlook if the Quick Conference Room plug-in is enabled. 2 Start Jabber MomentIM and Microsoft Outlook We recommend that you open and connect to Jabber MomentIM before opening Microsoft Outlook. If you open Microsoft Outlook before opening Jabber MomentIM, the Jabber Outlook Add-in automatically launches Jabber MomentIM. If you disconnect Jabber MomentIM, the Jabber MomentIM Presence button changes to Disconnected in Outlook. You can connect to Jabber MomentIM through Outlook by clicking the Disconnected button, and then clicking Connect on the shortcut menu. If you opened Microsoft Outlook first, Outlook automatically opens Jabber MomentIM. In this situation, if you exit Jabber MomentIM while Outlook is opened, you may receive the following message. If you click Yes, Jabber MomentIM will close. You can reconnect to Jabber MomentIM by clicking the Disconnected button in Outlook, and then clicking Connect on the shortcut menu. Start a Chat You can initiate a one-to-one chat from Microsoft Outlook. 1. In Microsoft Outlook, select an from a Jabber MomentIM contact. 2. 3 Start a Quick Conference If the Quick Conference Room plug-in is enabled in Jabber MomentIM, you can create a quick conference room with all Jabber MomentIM contacts addressed in the Outlook In Microsoft Outlook, select an from a Jabber MomentIM contact. 2. Click the Jabber MomentIM Presence button, and then click Start Conference. A quick conference room is created, and all addresses within the that are Jabber MomentIM contacts are invited to join the quick conference room. Set Presence from the Outlook Calendar You can set your presence to change to Away with a message of Away, the subject of the calendar event or a custom text status during a scheduled calendar event. 1. 4 2. In the Configure dialog box, click the Presence tab. 3. Select the Set my presence to Away according to calendar event option, and then select one of the following options for the status text message: Set presence message to Away Set Presence message to the subject of the calendar event Set presence message to, and then enter a custom status text message in the box 4. If you do not want your presence to change during Outlook calendar events, clear the Set my presence to Away according to calendar event option. 5. Click OK. Map Outlook s to Jabber MomentIM IDs You can map an individual Outlook to a Jabber MomentIM ID. 1. In Microsoft Outlook, select an from the person you want to map the Outlook address to the Jabber MomentIM ID. 2. In the Add Contact dialog box, do one of the following: If this person is an existing Jabber MomentIM contact, select the This person is already in my contact list and their ID is option, then select the Jabber ID from the list, and then click OK. Perform steps 1 through 3 for each of your Jabber MomentIM contacts who do not appear as contacts. However, you only need to perform these steps once. If this person is a new Jabber MomentIM contact, select the This is a new contact option, then enter the person s name, Jabber ID and nickname, and then click OK. A subscription request is sent to this person. Add Additional Mappings for a Jabber MomentIM Contact If you have a Jabber MomentIM contact who has multiple addresses, you can map these multiple addresses to that Jabber MomentIM contact ID. 6 2. In the Configure dialog box, and in the Mapping tab, click Add. 3. In the Add Contact dialog box, enter the address in the box, select the Contact ID to map for this person from the Contact ID list and then click OK. Copyright 2008 Jabber MomentIM 6

8 2. In the Configure dialog box, and in the Mapping tab, select the contact ID mapping. 3. Click Remove. 4. When you are done, click OK in the Configure dialog box to close. Disable Jabber Outlook Add-in You can disable the Jabber Outlook Add-in within Microsoft Outlook.
