1 Gathering Data for the Client Onboarding Process Carson Institutional Alliance provides you with online tools to capture prospect data electronically. This data is ultimately used to support the client digital onboarding experience. This training document explains the electronic data gathering process and offers best practices to follow during this phase of the onboarding experience. Completing the Electronic Risk Tolerance Questionnaire The online risk tolerance questionnaire is available to anyone who visits the homepage of your website. You can also send a direct link to a prospect using this URL format, As an example, the direct survey link for Carson Wealth Management Group is Here are the questions we ask prospects in the risk questionnaire. 6 Immediate Cash Needs Results Creating a Profile At the end of the risk tolerance questionnaire, there is a button for the prospect to create a profile and login to a personalized client dashboard. Page 6

7 After entering the contact information shown above and selecting a password, the prospect will have access to their personal client dashboard. Page 7

8 Once a profile is created, prospects can access their dashboard at any time using this URL format, Completing a Profile Prospects have the ability to provide additional information on the dashboard to complete their profile as explained below. My Personal Information 1. Click the "My Personal Information" button. 2. Enter your date of birth, employment status and family information. 3. If employed, enter information about your employer and when you plan to retire. 4. If married with children, enter information about your family. 5. Enter your address and click done to complete this section. Page 8

11 My Financial Profiles 1. Click the "My Financial Profiles" button. 2. Click and drag the listed priorities to select your top five. 3. Click to "Add my own priority" if you need to add a custom priority to the list. 4. Click "Done" to complete this section. Page 11

12 My Income, Assets and Expenses 1. Click the "My Income, Assets and Expenses" button. 2. Enter household income information. 3. Enter information about your retirement accounts and 401(k) contributions. 4. Scroll down on the same page to enter information about non-retirement assets. 5. Also on the same page, enter additional asset information, then click next to continue. 6. Enter monthly living expenses. 7. Scroll down on the same page to enter outstanding debt, then click done to complete this section. Page 12

16 Other Dashboard Features Add a Photo Prospects have the ability to "Add a Photo" on the main page of the dashbaord. Schedule an Appointment Prospects can click to "Schedule a Meeting" which will send an to the advisor with the proposed meeting time. Page 16

17 View My Profile Prospects can click to view a summary of the profile information they have provided. Page 17

18 View Resources Prospects can go to the Resources page to download white papers on a number of common investment topics. Page 18

19 Contact Your Firm Prospects have a "Contact" page to send a message to your office or schedule a meeting. Page 19

20 As an advisor you have the ability to login as the prospect to view and edit their profile. Use this feature to input incomplete information into their profile during the initial client meeting. Click here or continue to the next section of this training document to learn more. Viewing your Prospect Data Once a profile is created, advisors have the ability to view prospects in both C.E.O. and on the CIA website. Integration with C.E.O. After a profile is created, a lead record will be created in C.E.O. for the prospect. Page 20

21 The person designated to own new website leads in your office will receive a from Salesforce notifying them of the new lead record. Information from the profile creation process will display on the lead detail page. Page 21

22 To utilize the Allocation Tools explained in the next section for the prospect, you must first convert your Lead to an Opportunity in the C.E.O. system. Integration with the Carson Group Partners Website View newly created profiles from the Carson Group Partners website following these steps: 1. Go to 2. Click to login and enter your Username and Password. 3. Select the Dashboard button. 4. From the Dashboard, select to view Clients. 5. Enter the prospects address and click Submit to search. You can also click 'Browse all clients' to view a full list of prospects. 6. The status column displays the data the prospect has supplied on their dashboard. A green check mark indicates completion of a section. 7. Click the client access icon to login to the client dashboard as the prospect. When logged in as the prospect you have the ability to complete sections of the dashboard on their behalf. Page 22

23 8. Click the profile report icon to view the information that has been supplied by the prospect. Once you convert a lead to a prospect you have the ability to push data to C.E.O. when viewing the profile report. 9. Click the allocation tool icon to create an investment allocation and proposal for the prospect. This feature if only available after you convert the Lead to an Opportunity in the C.E.O. system. 24 Utilize the client access link on this page to login as the prospect during your initial meetings to complete the profile information on their dashboard. Pushing Client Profile Information to C.E.O. As mentioned previously, you have the ability to push the information filled out within the Client Profile to the Household record in the C.E.O. system. To do this you have to first convert the lead record in C.E.O. to an opportunity which also creates a household record for the prospect where the data is ultimately stored. The push of data to C.E.O. can only be done once so be sure to confirm accuracy and completeness to get the most out of the prospect data. Follow these steps to push that data to C.E.O.: 1. From the "Clients" section of the Carson Group Partners Dashboard, search for the prospect by address. 2. Click the Profile Report icon to access the prospects data. 3. At the bottom of the Profile Report, click the "Submit" button. 4. From the pop-up window that appears, click OK to confirm the push of data to C.E.O. Page 24
