1 Introduction This guide provides information on how to register to access ClientConnect and the information you can access through this system. Registration Your HD Vest Advisor will send an with the link to the ClientConnect site. Before you access the system for the first time you must sign up for ClientConnect. URL for ClientConnect is: Complete the fields on the screen then click the Sign Up button. You will receive a message indicating that you have successfully registered. If the following information does not match what your Advisor has on file, you will not be able to register. Last 4 digits of Social Security number Date of Birth You need to work with your Advisor to update the information correctly. After you click Sign Up, you will need to accept terms and conditions. 1
2 Login To access your account, enter the address you used when you signed up for ClientConnect and your password. ClientConnect Token After you log in for the first time, for security reasons, you will receive a text message with a token code to the phone number on file with us. If you need to change your phone number, call your Advisor. Enter the code then click Submit. Tip: Check Remember this browser for 90 days to bypass entering the code each time you access ClientConnect. If you access ClientConnect from a different device you will be required to enter a token code the first time you use that device for security reasons. 2
3 Using ClientConnect ClientConnect allows you to view all your accounts, holdings, activity, statements, and securely send and receive messages and files with your Advisor. Summary Screen The Summary screen displays a chart showing the makeup of your portfolio and the accounts within that portfolio. All accounts associated with your Social Security number and accounts shared (see the Manage Access section for additional details) by your other household members are listed. 3
4 Holdings Screen The Holdings screen lists positions for the selected account. To view the information for an account, simply select it from the drop-down list. 4
5 Activity Screen The Activity screen lists your transactions for the selected account for the past six months. Documents Screen The Document screen lists statements, confirms, tax documents and the Advisory Quarterly Performance Report (QPR) for brokerage accounts. Note that QPR will only list accounts associated with your Social Security number unless you have permission to view the accounts of other persons within the household. Documents will be removed from this list after six months. Also, note that CONSOLIDATED brokerage statements are not shown unless you are the primary member of the household. However, you can still view your own account individual account statement. 5
6 Messaging Screen The Messaging screen provides a way for you to send and receive messages and files from your Advisor. If you and your Advisor are logged in to ClientConnect at the same time, you may use the Message window to chat in real time. The Files panel lists files that you have Received from and Sent to your Advisor. Click on the appropriate icon in the Files panel to download a file or to send a file or message to your Advisor. Note that file must be virus free and can t exceed 16 MB file size. Shared files are permanently deleted after 90 days. System Time Out ClientConnect will automatically log you off after 10 minutes of inactivity. You will receive a warning message 60 seconds before your session times out. 6
7 Administrative Tasks/Screenshots Click on the gear icon to access the menu to perform administrative tasks and send a screenshot to your Advisor. Manage Access You can grant access to other ClientConnect users to view your selected accounts. 1. Click the gear icon at the top right of the screen then select Manage Access. 2. Click Grant access to a new user. 7
8 3. Enter the address and Social Security number or Tax ID of the person you d like to access your account. Un-check any accounts that you do NOT want to share and click Allow Access. Note that the other person must also have ClientConnect portal setup for this access to work. 4. The other person will get the access to view your accounts in their ClientConnect portal. 8
9 Send Screenshot to Advisor Your Advisor is your primary contact for any help. If you want to share your screenshot with your Advisor, click the camera icon while you are ON the page that you want to share. Type the message in the textbox and click Send. 9
10 Getting Help Frequently Asked Questions Click the? icon at the top right of the screen to access a list of frequently asked questions (FAQ). To filter the list, type a keyword in the filter field then click on a question in the results list to view the answer. Send Message to Advisor If the FAQ doesn t answer your question, scroll to the bottom and send a message to your Advisor. 10
