1 How to Obtain a Medium Level of Assurance Hardware or Software Digital Certificate it is necessary to Complete Webcam Proofing 1. An administrator will invite the user to the DCS application. The user receives an invitation via where they can complete the first time login to the Managed Access Gateway (MAG), or login to Exostar s Secure Access Manager (SAM). 2. Click Register for the Digital Certificate Service. 3. Confirm your profile by selecting the country you re located in. Click Next. NOTE: If a user is located outside of the United States, the user will be automatically directed to webcam proofing. Experian proofing is not an available option for international users. 1

2 4. Complete the Experian proofing process by entering personal information. Fields that are required are marked with an asterisk. NOTE: If the user wishes not complete Experian questions, the user can click on I Disagree to be routed to setup webcam proofing.

3 5. The user will be presented with a list of questions they must answer. 6. If the user fails Experian proofing and cannot be pinned via the mail option, the user will be directed to Webcam Proofing. If the user does not answer the questions correctly but Experian can locate them, the user will receive their activation code via postal mail (for more information about being directed to the mail option during the phone OTP activation process, see FAQs).

4 7. The user will be presented with the webcam proofing to select the date to complete webcam proofing. 8. The user will need to confirm their appointment details. NOTE: The user will receive an with appointment details.

5 9. A webcam proofer will contact the user on their scheduled appointment date. 10. If the user successfully completes webcam proofing, they will be provided with an activation code to register their phone. They will need to enter the activation code and click Submit. 11. The user will then be prompted to register their phone. They will need to enter the phone number they wish to register and click Send Code. NOTE: The user will receive a phone call if they selected the voice message delivery method, or a text message if they selected the text message deliver option.

6 12. Enter the verification code that you received via telephone or text message. 13. After the user clicks Submit, they will receive a screen message alerting them that they have successfully registered their phone. They must then click Complete.

7 14. When the user clicks the Home tab, they should now be logged in with their phone OTP credential (credential strength is located in the upper right hand corner). The user will be able to open the DCS application by clicking on Open Application to obtain their Medium Hardware or Software Digital Certificate. NOTE: If the user does not see Open Application for DCS but sees Elevate, the user will need to click on Elevate and follow the steps to elevate their credential strength (for more information on what to do if you see Elevate under the actions column next to DCS, see FAQ). 15. When the user opens application, they will need to click Enroll. NOTE: If the user previously had certificates installed or has revoked their certificates, the Enroll button will be unavailable. To obtain certificates, the user will need to click on Reapply to request new certificates. For more information, see I don t see the Enroll button in the DCS application for assistance in FAQs.

8 16. The user will be prompted to obtain a Medium Level of Assurance Digital Hardware or Software Certificate (the user may select either option per their preference). The user will be required to select the validity period (1 or 3 years of use) and the reason why they are requesting the certificate. If the user is unsure of what to enter, they can select Unknown. This can be modified by the DCS Administrator. In this example, a Medium Level of Assurance Software Certificate has been selected. Once the Certificate information has been selected, the users clicks Next. The user will then receive a submission confirmation page. 17. The request will be routed to the DCS Administrator for approval. Once the DCS Administrator approves, the request will be routed to Exostar for final approval.

9 18. When the request has been approved by Exostar, the user will need to log into their SAM account and access the DCS application. After reviewing the information, the user clicks on Agree and Download to install their digital certificates. 19. After the user clicks on Agree and Download, the installation process will begin. NOTE: If the user experiences issues with the installation of their certificates, they can reference the DCS System Check, DCS Certificate Download Requirements Guide and DCS FAQs. If the user has selected the Medium Level of Assurance Hardware Digital Certificates, the user will need to ensure they have their token plugged in before completing the installation. 20. Once the user has successfully installed the certificates, they will be able to sign documents.
